I would like to also mention Karina, who does work there but the system does not recognize. Jackons have made our lives as tenants a misery in the past year. We have waited and waited for them to respond to basic issues with the property which have been left to get worse due to a lack of response or care. Abbe was great from the word go. She was always on time, friendly but professional, and managed to rent out our property within a day! After that, the process was very smooth from the tenants being found until when they moved in. What I especially liked was the flexibility in that I could do as little or as much as I wanted in the whole process. Well done Jacksons for successfully managing the process from beginning to end. Fees were reasonable for the service provided. Whilst they were not the cheapest, I did feel that they provided value for money. Amber was extremely efficient with the paperwork side of things and was great at chasing both parties in a professional way.

I used Jacksons Estate Agents to Let and Manage my property from 2012 - 2016. They were great for the first 2 years. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the last 2 years because: 1. They consistently paid the rent collected to me on random dates, up to a month late and in one instance never at all until I had to chase them up for a May 2016 payment in January 2017 2. Absolutely disgraceful agents. Withholding our deposit, we have no email communication for weeks, sometimes months over simple issues. Complete lack of service and responses, and an inability to solve any issues you have with the property. Extremely poor tenant management. Would never recommended and would give less than one star. We started a lease on a property on Bedford Hill that was organised by Jackson's in November 2015 and terminated in November 2016. The worst estate agent experience I've ever had. They didn't turn up to one viewing at all, didn't have the keys for 2 of the properties I wanted to see twice and eventually asked us to pay a holding deposit on a house that wasn't due for completion until a month after we were meant to move (despite assurances to the contrary). They wasted our time and were very unhelpful. The only positive I have is that the deposit was paid back promptly....

Do not use this agency. I am a landlord, the fees are extortionate and the legal back up meaningless. One tenant stopped paying rent but no guarantor was asked for as said was employed, he wasn't. Lost £10k getting rid then they literally blackmailed me to take new tennants at 10% to 'recoup their losses' knowing that I was extremely ill and financially f**ked and couldn't start legal proceedings against them too. The worst of humanity......

Turns out that moving out of a property with Jacksons is as difficult as moving in and as painful as the duration of the tenancy. We have put up with damp, mould growing on walls, locking our dog into the living room when contractors came in when they weren't supposed do, contractors not turning up, taking time off work, an unbelievable number of emails and phone calls. NOT WORTH THE STRESS!!...

Agents fees are not cheap (however they are in line with other agents in the area) however we have found that they are more then capable at being proactive and able in managing the property. Which is why we chose them to manage the property.

We've found Jamie-Leigh to always be very responsive and helpful. At the start of our tenancy we were a little disappointed that certain things ie the dishwasher being faulty, the entry phone not working and the sink being a very slow drain were not mentioned. I had a very disappointing experience with Jackson's. We were asked to match an offer that was made on the property after our sale price was agreed and have a written confirmation as well , when we refused to do so, the agent (Loyd) said he would speak to the seller and come back to us which he never did. i can understand if the seller went with the higher offer however out of courtesy he should have given us an update . The Balham Branch of Jackson's has done a fantastic job finding responsible tenants who have taken good care of my flat, paid their rent on time, and have been pleasant to deal with. Went for a viewing for a 1bed flat on Strathon Drive SW17. They left our house with holes in the roof all through autumn, refused to fix broken items, and are now withholding our deposit due to damage present at the property when we arrived. Contact was extremely poor. It is not acceptable to be unable to contact a landlord for over 2 months, while I don\'t own the house, it is my home, and I should be treated with respect.

We have had a bad experience with Jacksons since moving into our flat. They consistently don't reply to emails or return phone calls. I have generally had to send 3/4 emails in order to get a response. They were very helpful and accommodating while we were looking for properties, but feel that since we have moved in, they've become neglectful....

Estate Agents... Look around Balham and most of the letting boards are decalled with 'Jacksons'. There is a reason for this. exemplary service, realistic pricing and excellent communcation. Most people begrudge estate agents, but if you must use them go with Jacksons. They know the market and will give you honest feedback....

Respond to your tenants don\'t ignore them. Remember that tenants often become home oweners eventually so they should be treated as fairly as the Landlord\'s you serve because they may one day be the customers you are looking for.

Unfortunately Jacksons were pretty useless throughout our whole tenancy. The chap that showed us the flat was great - really nice guy. There were some obvious issues with the property - in particular a lot of mould on the walls and courtains in the bedroom. Rectified issues in a timely manner, honoured agreements when we moved in and returned deposit in timely manner. Simple stuff really - do your job properly and well.

In general Agency fees are ridiculously high in most Agencies. Seeing as the agents receive a commission from the Landlords monthly rent and an initial fee at the beginning of any lease I do not see there being the need for such outrageous fees applicable to a tenant. I understand a small fee for contracts but not to the point people have to pay almost β€š£300 each. A 6 week deposit should be enough.

The letting agent proactively managed the letting of our property and was very transparent with the steps that were needed to be undertaken in order to secure a good tenant. As a British expat, I was very reliant on Jacksons performing a good job and so it was very comforting to see them convert their promises into reality. I have been using Jackson Balham for several years. Both to buy properties and to rent. They have always been incredibly professional, friendly and honest. They get great results quickly with the rental side of their business and their sales team are highly experienced and honest. Jacksons in Balham are a young and funky team who are highly professional and offer a fantastic Lettings service. They were recommended to us by more of mouth and we are glad we listened. The manager, Jaime-Leigh has a friendly, on nonsense approach to letting and hence we had great tenants lined up for our flat within a week. All the paperwork and contracts were sorted out swiftly and the staff were patient and attentive with us as first time Landlords. I definitely would highly recommend them...

Jodie was delightful to deal with and very responsive to my requests. When we saw that the flat had been left in a bad state of cleaning, Jodie arranged with her office to get it done. I would not recommend renting through Jacksons estate agent in Balham. Emails went unanswered most of the time and calls were rarely returned. Water pouring through the ceiling in two rooms of the house was not considered a priority and was left untouched for 2 months causing considerably more damage, the plaster and paintwork took 5 months to fix and I'm sure that was only because we chased frequently. Had some level of customer service ability, not ripped us off or at least been able to justify their fees more than \'the cost is the cost\', had some level of market awareness to realise their costs are disproportionate to everyone else, read any of the contracts we signed before trying to charge us for additional costs, had a basic understanding of tenancy contracts and what the term \'fixed term\' means, responded to emails and calls in a timely manner, not forced us to live in a flooded house for two months (TWICE!) Disciplined the incredibly rude staff members.

Apologise, compensate for loss of earnings and money to removal teams, fix the condensation problems they knew about and assured us would be fixed before we moved in immediately and work around our busy schedules, i.e. go a little out of their way to help us and make our tenancy a pleasurable one.

We have been tenants with Jacksons (through Earlsfield branch but the property is managed by the Balham branch) and the experience was terrible. Jacksons in trying to attract the landlords play hard ball with the tenants, it\'s all about them making money and keeping the landlords happy. Our landlord visits the property whenever he wants despite our request to the the agent to make it possible for us to be present on the property but they claimed it was urgent and he needed to come regardless...

What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent should be equally fair to both parties here. We are paying the money and expect to have some say in who and when visits the property, and our requests to be present should be accommodated. Louise Bobb has contacted us about the visit at 6pm telling us the landlord \'needs\' to come in next day. It is not the first time when the landlord has been difficult about repairs/ visits and we have asked her to always give us notice and let the lanlord know we are not happy about it. We have accommodated that by taking time off and working from home before but there no such efforts from the agent\'s side. Whatever the landlord wants, he gets, claiming \'urgency\'.
