Ian Peat have a 'do the least possible' lettings model. I am a landlord, I know the law, and I'm renting temporarily while refurbing a house locally. I am appalled at the service I have received as a tenant, though if I was a landlord I would be in danger of getting a criminal record if there was an accident in the house. Moreover they take no notice of internal or external dilapidation or preventative maintenance - essentially eroding ones asset value. Here is an email I have just sent Ian Pea...

Fees in line with costs. They simply add 100% to the cost of references.

Landlords - DO NOT USE - As a Landlord I rented my house out with Ian Peat on a fully managed basis. When my tenant left there was some damage to the property, Ian Peat did not pick this up on the inspection (for which they are paid). On Ian Peat\'s advice I gave back the deposit and now am in the position where I cannot claim back any damage. When trying to communicate with IP I received a very rude tele call explaining if I did not like their service then I should des-instruct them, he was rud...

We have just signed up to use Ian Peats service to rent a house in Nottingham and after looking for reviews so that I could leave this one, am positively shocked at the amount of negatives! I have had 3 different properties in Nottingham over 5 years and Ian Peat has by far been the most considerate, easy to work with, and best communicated agency I have dealt with. We\'ve been emailing Hayley and she has taken care of everything, keeping in mind that we work 9 ยขรขโ€šยฌรขโ‚ฌล“ 5 jobs she has...

my friends moved in first as i was at home working. 2 of the 3 beds were broken and the third had a moldy mattress, it was clear that the house had not been cleaned from the previous tenants as there were loads of bags full of dirty washing, pots and pans, broken desks and the house was left full of cobwebs and rubbish all around the floor. the sofas were broken and stained also. Loads of repairs needed doing as the shower did not work and the grate in the back garden was broken. after a while ...

From the start of the contract Ian peat were extremely slow to respond to any questions or issues, we were left over a week without a shower (bath was un-useable) had to keep ringing up to even get them to send an electrician out. They were very unprofressional with dealing with on the phone and didn\'t notify or close the accounts in affiliation with the property. They tried to claim damage/ grazes etc that were done to the house before we moved in, that they documented with us before we moved...

Reading most of the reviews on this page I was very shocked and had to double check they were for the same company! I have rented from Ian Peats for over a year now and dealt with the Bingham office. I have always found them to be very friendly and helpful through the whole process. I was new to the area when I rented from them, they gave me lots of advice on different areas and showed me a selection of properties which after telling them what I wanted in a home they selected and I was glad ...

After reading some of the reviews on here I am very surprised. I have rented from them for four years, I have found them fine, yes there are things that aren\'t brilliant, but before anyone has ago at Ian Peat for repairs, they have to get permission from the landlord, Ian Peat are only the sitters of the property. when ever I have had maintainance problems they have had some one out within a couple of days. I have gone through both redundancy and bereavement, while here and as long as you have...

I have just stumbled upon this review website thankfully and not surprisingly, I see I am not the only potential customer who has experienced dreadful, awful and degrading service! I have been trying to rent a property currently on their books (has been up for rent for 6 months may I add), first 70 mile trip to view - had a phonecall an hour before to cancel appointment as "they didn\'t have the keys", the woman in the agency is beyond useless in this role "I wasn\'t to know you w...

LANDLORDS AND TENANTS - stay away!!! Since I first engaged in any sort of communication, Ian Peat have been by far the worst Agency I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. When we viewed the properties, the agent which showed us round was rude, tactless and unhelpful. Their lengthy (for no other reason than they are lazy and slow) application process is absurd and pointless, and having rented for a number of years now, unlike anything I\'ve ever come across before. When I came to collect...

Get some competent and service driven staff, and realise that service is paramount. Take an NVQ level 1 in customer service and you might be able to operate better than you do now.

Absolutly no urgency. Calls not returned. E mails not answered. Just did not seem to care at all about my needs or wants. I was left feeling that I constantly had to chase her and that I was an embuggerence to her. No warmth on the phone. Massive contrast with Newark Property Management Services, who I ended up using. if you are a landlord with properties under the management of Ian peat in Bingham who is wondering why you dont have tennants, now you know!...

Absolutely terrible, I was renting as a student, the bills were supposed to be included in the rent, the landlord didn't pay the bills or the mortgage, the gas and electric company had a warrant to let themselves into the house and fit a pay as you go meter. Have seen other student properties with them being repossessed, terrible on doing repairs. If you are a student stay well away! Don't rent with them!...

The staff are unhelpful and rude even though they claim to employ friendly staff. E-mails and phone calls get ignored and even after making numerous complaints, repairs do not get sorted. Ian Peat do not look after their tennants!!!!!!!!! Utterly useless and would never use them again....

Take ages to carry out repairs - only after making a deduction from my rent and reporting them to environmental health did they get onto the repairs, after about 6 months and many ignored emails/phone calls later. They complain about niggly little things, such as an ironing board in our back garden due to us buying a new one a couple of days ago - is this really affecting the property? Nobody can see it from the street. It\'s been there about 3 days, I work and so haven\'t had time to go to the ...

We had booked to view 2 properties, travelled over 40 miles each to view only to receive a phone call 30 minutes before the viewings (whilst we were driving so could not take the call) telling us \"something had come up\" with the current tenant so a vierwing would not be possible. Upon contacting them to check that the second viewing was still on, we were told they\'d been unable to contact the current tenant to get access, despite having promised to show us the property earlier in the week. No...

Paid for credit check, told them I had bad credit. But they insisted they would check with landlord before processing. 2 weeks later apparently the landlord changed his mind because of bad credit?!?! Would never go there again and I would advise anyone to stay away because I am not the first person they have taken money off....

Ian Peat are not upfront with prospective tenants. If you view a property, you decide to go for it - don't count on getting it. We asked if anyone else was viewing the property we chose and they said 'no, so if you come in tomorrow and put an application in (as long as you receive good references) it's yours'. So we stumped up the ...

We had the same sort of problems, the house we looked at had been on the market a good few months (No wonder!). I have had several people tell me they have had problems. And even though it seemed to be the perfect house, i think we would of had alot of trouble with the estate agents. I am surprised if they have any happy landlords because there is a few properties that I know they keep turning people away from and have been on the market for a while.....
