What can i say, are there any good agents anywhere?! When we viewed the property we are now renting the garden had been stripped and all the plants, vines, and about two trees were piled at the back of the garden rotting away, and the shed and gravel area was full of the previous tenants junk. Before we signed up we were assured that all of this mess would be cleared. One year later and the garden is still full of crap despite numerous calls and emails (most of which were just ignored) when we s...

I was tenanted a stunning flat in Brighton through Home Leasing's Brighton branch. However the experience I've had dealing with them was far from stunning. During my lease of this flat, I changed jobs and found myself getting paid on different day than usual, therefore my direct debit was unable to come out of my account,. Home Leasing very quickly sent out a letter explaining that my rent was in arrears. Not once did they try to contact me via phone or email. They sent a letter out immediatel...

Please don't use. They lied to our student sons, telling them their offer was accepted for a property, and they would take it off the market. In fact they had already accepted an offer a week earlier, and we're just waiting to see if the others would complete by the end of the following day. Due to this the students lost out on other properties. Do not use, they will lie to secure a letting....

You might see the other reviews here and think 'maybe we'll be lucky'. You won't be. This is an awful company with awful employees. Incompetent, unhelpful and rude from top to bottom. The one star is only there because it's a requirement. The handful of positive reviews you see here are clearly fake also as they only have one review and no information. They're all smiles and sunshine when they're trying to get your money but then as soon as you've put your name down they couldn't care less. The...

A company this incompetent should be paying it's customers. Fess were beyond a joke for what was received in exchange.

Just don't!! Home Leasing are a scourge on society and are everything that is wrong with estate agents in this country. They are incredibly poorly led and single-handly epitomise why estate agents should be regulated. Read around, do your research and you will soon discover who they are. According to this very website (All Agents) they are (currently) ranked in the bottom 16% of estate agents in the UK. This seems a little high, but it does leave you with a whopping 12,317 better estate agents ...

No complaints whatsoever about Home Leasing. I rented a flat from them almost two years ago and, after a short interview where they explained everything I needed to do, I filled in an application and paid a holding deposit, then two weeks later was able to move in. There was a problem with one of my references as my employer hadn't seen it, but Home Leasing were very proactive in chasing this to ensure that I could move in on time. When I first moved in to the property, there were some problems...

The agency fees were fair as the service was good and included a very good inventory with photographs, which I was allowed to amend if I noticed anything that they had missed.

What can I say, these people are either dodgy or incompetent, probably both. They rarely returned calls, were very slow in addressing issues at the property including leaving us without a fully working fridge for over a week before suggesting we contact the fridge man ourselves, and they retained over ‚£300 from our deposit without informing us and to cover cleaning etc. which I know (from speaking to the new tenant) was unnecessary not undertaken... this I think amounts to theft. We rai...

Poor agent service, they do not respond to your calls or contact you when they say they will. The property's they let are of poor quality and in poor condition (their builder said all their properties were of low standard!) Once the property was vacated they took deposit money without discussion or consent meaning we ended up in a dispute. They did not invite the tenant to the check out inspection or provide a check out document. The tenant was left to chase for the deposit and explanation of d...

Excessive fees, rent was also too high for the quality of property and level of service from this agent. These costs should be more closely regulated and all check outs should be conducted by an independent body to ensure claims and deductions from your deposit are objectively made.

These are one of the worst estate agents I have ever had the misfortune to use. Not only are they money grabbing swizzers but they do not respond to serious faults with the properties they manage swiftly or efficiently. They also have the great pleasure of renewing your contract every 6 months and charging you for the privilege! I would strongly recommend not using them and would not recommend them to any of my friends/family/enemies!...

Called up to view a property. I am newly self employed but have a guarantor. I was refused an appointment because I do not have an accountant reference (this is because I also do all my own accounts and have only been in operation for 3/4 months). After asking why I needed an accountant reference when I had a guarantor I was told I needed 3 years of accounts and a guarantor, even after telling them I had only been open for a few months. I was then told "well you can't rent with us then&q...

There seems to be no-one in their office that knows what is going on, no communication between branches OR their accountant (who is mysteriously always at lunch when they need to talk to him), yet finds the time to send you threatening letters charging you £25 for late payment of rent when THEY forget to post your standing order form to the bank! Sadly this is what I have come to expect from letting agents in general....

We have had a serious damp problem since we moved in to our flat, in one room this is due to a leak from the flat upstairs not being fixed for weeks (they alerted us to this problem PRIOR to us moving in and stated that this would be fixed before we did move in). They attempted to tell us that the mould was due to condensation, however this is proved otherwise by the tidemarks on the walls and ceilings. There is also excessive black mould in 3 of the total 5 rooms, which after being cleaned come...

This is not merely the worst estate agents I've ever encountered, it's actually the worst organization I've ever had the extreme displeasure of dealing with. They are incredibly disorganized - example: before moving into our house we were told several times that it only contained white goods, accordingly we all bought beds, mattresses, furniture, etc., only to find, when entering the house on moving day that it was fully furnished and we had wasted in total a huge amount of money and effort. ...

Terrible service. When we viewed the house we were told that all the problems would be fixed by the time we moved in and unsurprisingly, the were not fixed at all, just well hidden. The house has a serious damp problem that is giving me breathing difficulties and making my bed; clothes; sofas; towels; damp and smelly and reporting that my bed is growing mould along with many other items in my room. And despite reporting these issues 5 months ago, nothing has been done about it. Every tim...

Unprofessional, despite twice yearly inspections, a slow leak was not detected. Certaining not by us (tenants) but also not by homeleasing inspectors. We are now getting the blame and despite repeated attempts, no-one from this company will speak to us. After 7 years exemplary behaviour by us. We\'re furious. Do not use this company....

Just finished using Charters after 2 years. No complaints. They were always polite and responded to any queries or problems with the house. Unlike Cambridge Residential in which is took me over 6 months to get my deposit back, they have only taken a short time to sort it all out. NO COMPLAINTS!...

We rented a place via home leasing and they told us, after moving in and when we had given a list of issues, that they were there purely for the landlord and not the tenants. They were extremely unprofessional and and made us feel like criminals even though we are a professional couple with a new born baby and treated the place like our home for three years (despite the damp collapsing walls and a cupboard falling on my head). Any building issues were dealt with directly with the landlord (which makes you wonder what they were there for). We always paid our rent on time but changed our bank details part way through the lease (all notified etc) but they did not update their system and so we received threatening letters to us and our guarantors due to their clerical errors. On leaving we were ignored only to find that they don\'t inspect properties until you have returned the keys, giving you no chance to rectify any potential issues. They speak to you as though they have already made their mind up that they are going to take some of your deposit back for things they will find wrong. Our property was damp effected and when we complained they said they don\'t deal with building maintenance - hence the only look out for the landlord comment. We had the property professionally cleaned so that it was in better condition than when we arrived.... lets see if we get our deposit back.
