Unprofessional, not in the interest of tenants - They Add clauses to agreements *, particularly around Damp/ Mould issues to remove liability, and will only accept if you are not smart enough to check. They are interested in the Let, obtaining the deposit, but once that's done, there are no further correspondence, and if any questions, you are answered with the We do not manage the property, speak to the Landlord.. so If you have a dispute or emergency, it's not their problem - Worst agency I h...

What agent could do to change your mind?
Be attentive to both tenants and landlords. Work in the interest of both parties, as both are customers not one-sided. Be mindful when stating law and procedure around lettings/ sales, especially if end customers have a high-knowledge in the same field

We put the property on market with these guys after a very promising first meeting. They were not out highest valuation but they came across realistic. Alarms bells rang after they arranged the first viewing, we all cancelled plans on our saturday all was ready for 10.40- but no one turned up, no phone call, no email, nothing! And this has been the experience ever since, communication is vile, we are constantly chasing them and they are very dismissive on the phone. Our agent went on patern...

We bought a house through Hawes and Co in Raynes Park in 2012 and found they made it an even more stressful process than usual. The member of staff we dealt with was rude, patronising, and did not advise us adequately of the buyer's position and situation, such that the sale nearly didn't go ahead. I advised the manager of the issues and not much interest was taken, we are now selling and know with certainty who we won't be using....

Hawes and Co are the worst letting agents I have encountered in 10 years. They promised to resve a damp issue prior to us moving in, they didn't. When we moved in the previous tenants left a ton of rubbish in the back garden. Hawes thought it was appropriate to put items like a flat football and a broken bicycle on the inventory. The boiler broke. They failed to fix it for weeks. They claimed they liaised with the landlord over issued with the washing machine, ill fitting curtains and a ...

We initially put the property on the market in February 2013 and all appeared to be moving along fine. Then we were passed onto another member of staff to deal with, and about a month later another member of staff and finally finished with the manager. Even though we had the manager dealing with our sale things still didn\'t move on. No financial checks were done on prospective purchasers of the vendor who wanted to buy our property. There was no proper management of sales of the vendors prop...

Manage the sale by not passing us between all the staff in the office. Do their job properly by checking the financial status of the prospective buyers and keeping the customer informed instead of the customer chasing for updates.

Terrible experience during the 2 years of tenancy. We have been experiencing serious issues with dump and nothing was resolved after contacting them every day for more than a month. We then decided to leave the property and they deducted lots of money from the deposit without any clarification on this. AVOID!!!!...

Dear James Thank you for your comments. As you have put very few details it is difficult for me to comment on your individual problem with damp. However regarding the return of the deposit, any deductions are fully detailed to you and agreed prior to the return of the deposit, in line with the relevant deposit scheme. If you wish to discuss this matter further, pelase do not hesitate to get in touch. Thank you.....

They had a landlord managing the property from ALGERIA!!! We had a roaming UK mobile number to call (costing us a bundle!!!). Of course, the heating stopped working so they got in two handymen - neither of which was Gas Safe registered - who started pulling up the floor boards. They put the heaters back in such a poor state, they started to flood the flat. I was 38 weeks pregnant at the time. We jumped up and down and, to their credit, Hawes & Co used their contractor and took over mana...

Thank you for your comments. It is at Landlord discretion whether to use the management service offered by the Agent. In this case the Landlord has local maintenance people and this has worked successfully since we took the property on our books in 2005. Regarding the heating, this runs on a centralised boiler in the block so the problem was not as simple as you would expect with an individual boiler etc. It was only when it transpired that there were ongoing problems with the heating (that th....

Sales Prevention Officers! Really don't know what these jokers do for their money - they take minimal photos, their floorplans are non-existent or unreadable, they take a minimum of 3 days to return calls (if they bother to return them at all which they frequently don't), they don't do viewings, and their exorbitant asking prices and condescending attitude towards anybody showing an interest in their property seems designed to put off all but the most determined buyer. I thought my experience o...
