I could not fault Harry Charles. Our estate agent Mark Hyde ensured a very smooth sale for us,despite the buyer pulling out twice he quickly found a new buyer and ensured there was no stress for us the customer....

It's the worst agency with which I had a chance to cooperate, they are not only slow and not really care about proper property management, but also their staff is rude. They will jump on you in groups to show their power and make you agree on anything they say. Also they have a problem with a rent calculation and they blindly follow their computer system even if it not accurate. Don't go there if you want to feel calm....

Agent's charges fees from everything and you cant change it. They dont care about you, they will just charge you.

After letting a flat through Harry Charles, in short I would describe them as decent letting agents when paired with a decent landlord. This is of course a compliment these days....

Fees were normal, although as always, it is debatable whether there is a conflict of interest when agents receive money from both tenants and (presumably) landlord/lady.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of checking your contract with Harry Charles carefully. They had inserted a compulsory £100 (plus VAT) "admin" fee, applicable to any charge incurred at the end of your contract. This means that if you had to pay £5 for a new key, it would actually cost you £125. Clearly there has not been £100 of work involved in the cutting of a new key and this is simply a licence to print money, however it is in the contract. They wil...

Hi Alex, We very clearly state this amount in the document that you sign before you pay any money over for referencing and it is right there in black and white and listed as a separate line item on your pre tenancy form. This cost is to cover administration charges to the company involved in tenants who do not return the property in the agreed condition.
