I feel i should write about my experience with Harrison Murray, 4 years ago i tried to sell my house with them. I had no interest at all with the £115,000 price they valued at, it turned out to be at least £7000 over the odds, i had to ring them and make them drop the price. I finally sold at £104,000 then i had hold ups with my mortgage, i got nothing but hassle off HM saying the buyer needs this and that, the buyer's getting impatient etc, yet it's the seller who pays the fee...

Remove themselves from the letting market entirely pending a complete shake up of their staff and service levels - a new maintenance department ( i'm not sure if this is outsourced but they are horrendous) and perhaps an education on how to treat their clients?

Harrison Murray is a joke. When we first rented our property last year, they said that the place was cleaned. Particularly the stove. That was false, the stove was caked with grim and grease. We ended up purchasing an oven of our own, because we refused to use that nasty thing they left us. Not to mention, the place has a multitude of issues (even to this day). What agent could do to change your mind?
Answer their phones, hire competent staff and competent builders, and get repairs done quickly and properly when tenants need them. Communicate with your builders and inspectors, and stop giving people the run around.

HarrisonMurray now use a voicemail system to stop the caller from speaking to anyone directly. You have to wait for them to call you-sometimes it can be several HOURS. This is a long time for a yes or no answer to a simple question. THIS SERVICE IS RUBBISH. Yes there are individual staff members who do their best but the system holds them back and of course they get the flack from the irate caller. What agent could do to change your mind?
They need to get back to basics. Do away with the voicemail system and employ enough staff needed to do the jobs that have to be done. If a landlord or tenant are calling HM its because they need to talk to someone, not just for laughs. The management are poking fun at landlords and tenants alike.

Totally feel sick and physically drained from how rude they are. During the Sale of my flat Sandra argued with me saying I'm biting of my nose to spite my face if I didnt accept the low offer the buyer had offered. This agency is an absolute joke! Customer service is non-existent and I would advise people to stay away from them as far as possible. Unfortunately I only found this website after signing the contract with them. If I would have seen the reviews on this website prior to signing the contract I would have run away as fast as possible in the opposite direction! Terrible experience so far... Hi there I have had two properties let through HM in Northampton; property A & B. Property A- we bought through HM with sitting tenants, they had two very active dogs. When the refit between tenants started the house stunk of dog, there was dirt and filth everywhere. However, the inspection reports said the house was clean, tidy and well looked after. I don\'t know whether some of the issues are due the move to Notts Building Society or not and they need to sort out the teething problems. But even before that there were many shortcomings. I think overall there needs to be more coordination between branches and head office.

I have only had a verbal breakdown of the fees-having not received the written copy. I am undecided.

We have just bought a house via this agent. I am thoroughly disappointed in particular with their attitude towards us as the buyers. When there were problems highlighted in the survey they spoke to me as though it were my fault. They were so unhelpful and I could practically hear them shrugging down the phone when we discovered that although they had signed the keys over to us, the previous owner had not moved out. Would not recommend using them and will certainly avoid in the future....

My daughter was about to purchase a property from HM but was told to look at the property next door which had just come back on the market and was told "it was better".This she did but I then asked her why did it come back on the market. I was a tenant with them until March 2014 and when I left the property they tried to make me pay for a bunch of structural problems. I had to dispute the issue with TDS, which I won but they still refuse to return the deposit, leaving me no option than take further legal action....

Using Harrison Murray Lettings to "manage" the letting of my house has been the most miserable, tiring and worst customer experience of my life. The level of incompetency from start to finish with these people is astounding. We were renting a property for two and a half years and had never been late paying once. We were told out of the blue by our landlord that he may have to sell the property and that he wanted agents too come in and value the place. He said he would let us know ASAP if he decided too go ahead with the sale. On the 31st july we received eight weeks notice too quit. The letter was dated 24th July, it was not sent registered. We all understand a contract. But as a tenant that has paid rent on time without fail and maintained the property too a good standard they could have had the decency to let us out of the last two weeks of notice. They were quick enough with the excuses for cheating us out of a whole weeks notice. I wouldn\'t deal with this company. This is our lives they are messing with.

I have heard so many bad reviews about the staff at both this branch and the St. Albans branch from local people I have spoken to. I have even been told that one agent has the reputation as being the most dishonest agent in Harpenden! Sadly this was also my experience. HM manipulate transactions to suit themselves. Harrison Murray have no idea of the concept of service let alone the ability to deliver it. They say they fully checked the tenant but he turned out to be self employed and only paid the rent on time ONCE in six months. They allowed him to pay by debit/credit card and the funds were never received via a standing order from a bank as per the agreement. Terrible, organised viewing , never showed up, then arranged 2nd viewing and they never showed up again after promising me otherwise. Terrible service. All nods and smiles when they need something. If you have a problem expect a 6 month lead time. I had a 1 year old child and they took ages to sort the boiler out in the middle of winter. Rude, arrogant and treat you like dirt. I would never recomend this agency to anyone. There are never there when you need them and always behind your feet when they need something from you. I have found the lettings department of Harrison Murray in recent months to be helpful, friendly and definitely professional. I moved into a property with them in February and they could not do enough for me and my son - we had to move quickly away from recent troubles and i was in within a week and the property is lovely....

Much Better now??? Really? So far I am not at all impressed with the Northampton branch, East Hunsbury branch to be more specific. If you guy's don't pull your finger out soon, I will be delighted to put my experience on here.....
