There are worse estate agents, so credit where credit is due - Curchods are slightly better to deal with than the average bottom feeders in this murky industry - but I have to say I was really disappointed, and much for that very reason: I simply expected better. They were initially insanely helpful and nothing was a problem. Until we exchanged. By that point it would have been easier to have your call put through to the Prime Minister as from then on we were committed and they had no reason to ...

I had a number of agents value my property. Jonathan, Manager of the Guildford branch valued the house at the average of all other vaulations. He knew the area and market well, and Curchods do not tie you to a minimum term contract which is why we chose to sell with them. The photographs of the property looked fantastic! Curchods arranged 3 viewings with buyers on their database for the day after we put the house on the market. We received positive, constructive feedback and were kept fully...

Sean obtained the best possible figure close to the asking prices for the property and kept me up to speed the whole way through the proceedings. I would certainly recommend Curchods to anyone thinking of going on the market in the near future....

The first offer we received was £135k under the asking price so the suggested selling price was way out as it was only a couple of weeks after it went on the market. Throughout all the dealings it felt as if the estate agent was working for the buyers and not us. Communication was terrible and although the property was empty it would have been polite if they informed us when they were showing people round. Without our permission Curchod's gave the buyers the key to our property when ther...

They could have priced the property realistically. Not seemed surprised when I refused offers over £100k less than the asking price. Let me know when they were showing people round. And not giving the keys to the buyers and their builders without my permission before we exchanged. I was told by neighbours the buyers visited the house several times without the estate agent being with them.

We decided to sell our house with Curchods in August 2014. The house went on the market at the end of July and was sold within 3 weeks whilst we were on holiday. Unfortunately, the transaction did not go smoothly due to a combination of things going wrong further down the chain, a house that we were going to purchase falling through and us having highly sensitive buyers. Also, because the house sold so quickly, there was a point during the transaction where we did not have anywhere to live....

Fees are always more than you want to pay and too expensive. However, Curchods earned their keep with this transaction.

Stay well clear. Put in an offer for a property which was accepted. Applied for a mortgage and when I contacted them to find out about the exchange of contracts Curchods continued to market the property and was informed I would have to raise my asking price by GBP20k. Do not waste your time to put in an offer. Worst service ever....

I found it frankly unbelievable that Curchods were voted a top estate agents in Surrey. The service we received from the East Horsley branch was appalling. Richard, a rather pompous character, who clearly thinks anyone not spending £1m plus on a house is a waste of his time and beneath is position in the world, treated us with distain, did not does his job properly (blaming anyone and everyone else) and after formally accepting an offer from us on a property, decided that due to delays beyond...

I have just sold a large property through Curchods which was dealt with at their Esher office. I was talking to a friend about Tripadvisor and he mentioned AllAgents, so it gives me much pleasure to thoroughly recomend the services of Curchods. Not only was the property promoted by the Esher office, but also it seems by the whole group and the end result was outstanding. They gave excellent advice, worked very much in my best interests as their fee paying client and whilst probably not the cheap...

I chose CURCHODS IN GUILDFORD after being really badly messed around by another agent sadly my farther died during this time also so I was pretty stressed when I hired them. It should be noted right here that they did very limited chain check at the start of the deal and almost never contacted my purchase estate agent, they said .... wait for it ..,..,. its normal to only progress the bottom of the chain I have this in writing form the manager - so rather than reduce my stress at this difficult...

they could have at least bothered at all progressed the whole chain as normal! Managed the first time buyer better - well managed him at all Make better notes stick to what was agreed - treat complaints as serious and make the client feel this complaint will be addressed and that the matters complained about will not happen again

The worst estate agency I have ever seen...I made an appointment for viewing one property through this estate agency recently. I arrived at the property on time, but nobody was there. I waited there for 20 minutes but nobody comes. Then I rang the agency, and was told the property was already sold! Why do not they tell me before hand! What a waste of time! To my amazement, they did not even say a word of apology...Terrible experience with Curchod at Guildford....

[[EDIT ORIGINAL START]] The stereotypical agents as wide boys who would sell their grandmother to make a buck is sadly all too real for these guys. Pushy thugs in cheap suits and GTi's. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. [[EDIT ORIGINAL END]] The stereotypical agents as wide boys who would sell their grandmother to make a buck is sadly all too real for these guys. I was informed about a property that was for sale and we were told it was not for sale to subsequently find out it has been sold twice even though we called the office for regular updates! I was constantly misinformed and our interest and cash offers were not even considered or passed on to the vendor....
