We rented two properties through CHK and couldn't have had better service. They were on hand whenever we had a problem and their maintainence team are fantastic. Really friendly office and they are genuinely on your side. It's hard as a tenant to find an estate agent that know what they are doing and fair at the same time and CHK definitely do that. I don't write reviews often but I would highly recommend these guys!...

Agents fees are fair and we got all of our deposit back after having a clean done and the inventory clerk checking the property.

These are muppets! This agency (I wished I sussed them out previous to my tenancy) are so unprofessional. 1 - After 3 times we sent the contract back and forward the day they called us in to sign the points were not amended. Such a massive time wasting. Then they sent us another one stating to sign where the landlord was supposed to sign. CHK Mountford have looked after my properties for as long as i have had them. The Lettings team have sourced me good quality tenants who are fully referenced, pay rent on time and look after my properties. Whenever a maintenance problem does arise, the Property Management team are helpful, friendly and above all provide at least two quotes for the work so i have a comparison to go by. As a tenant - avoid this agent wherever possible! We are professional people and respectful tenants but found ourselves treated with minimal respect and courtesy by this agency. We also had to wait almost 5 months for the return of our deposit and even had to make a claim to the Tenancy Deposit Scheme as the landlord and agent tried to extort money from our deposit. Suffice to say they are very pro-landlord so if you are their client it is probably a different story....

We are all very disappointed, here at CHK Mountford, to read this review. CHK Mountford hold deposits as stakeholder under the rules laid down by ARLA and TDS. These rules do mean that we are unable to release any of the deposit without written consent from both the Tenant and the Landlord in order to protect both parties. As with any bad review of our Company Γ’β‚¬β€œ fortunately a rare occurrence, we immediately looked into the matter to establish the cause of such disagreement. CHK Mountford are by far the worst estate agents i have ever used. Ive lived in over 8 rented houses now, 2 of which from CHK Mountford. Both times i have been conned out of my deposit (no a single charge on any of the other six homes) My most recent address saw them charge £47 for a light bulb, £82 for a hob switch (which cracked and was still in warranty) and £130 for carpert cleaning that did not even occur. Be warned. Mountford\'s inventory form borders on the ridiculous and tenants are not afforded the opportunity to sign it until they have already moved in, by which point no-one will move out. We lost a quarter of our deposit on check out despite hiring a profressional cleaner for five hours. I have renrted my apartment through CHK Mountford for the last 6 years. in that time there have only been a maximum of 2 weeks void between the three tenancies. I have found them to be extremly proffesional and helpful throughout my dealings and have recommended them to friends who have also found them to provide a far superior service than previous agents....

Mountford are the biggest sharks of the high street. They will bleed you dry of your money, come up with all sorts of stories. The staff are unfriendly & completely brain washed. Their works contractors have to give a percentage of cash to Mountford management for work that's passed on to them & the tenants get a very inflated contractors invoice by Mountford. Be warned steer very clear of them. These are our opinions & of friends who have used them in the past....

Yes I agree - I rented from Mountfords years ago and from the moment you sign to the moment you leave they will extract as much money from you as humanly possible. There fees are very high as are there yearly contract renewals. They do see you coming!...
