What a mess. Been dealing with this clown for the past few years as a tenant. Agency fees were'nt the issue, and senior management bend over backwards to help out. Giuseppe would rather see you bend over though, so he can have his way while you cough up your deposit.

I will never ever use Chappell and Matthews again. My boyfriend and I rented a flat through a landlord who went through Chappell and Matthews and they are all as bad as each other. This property has been at the stage of an agreed sale for 19 months and it is still not completed. I have never met such a bungling bunch of cowboys in all my days. I called to see a specific property and register. I told them that I was supposed to give my landlord 30 days notice before moving out but was pretty sure I could reduce that term to two weeks. The agent said he wasn't sure he'd show me the property on the grounds that they wanted it occupied within two weeks. An unprofessional 'service' from start to end, once i'd made the mistake of signing a contract. Avoid. Terrible communication. When everything is going ok, they still find reasons to take money from your account on a regular basis. Several times they have deducted rental income from us for "investigative work". Despite repeated attempts, they refuse to tell you what it was for. Phone calls or emails are rarely replied to and when you finally have enough and refuse to give them permission to pay contractors twice for the same work, they ignore you. I let several properties using Chappell & Matthews, the service I receive is exceptional. Using this branch represents good value for money as they are very organised, so I rarely have to spend any effort thinking about these properties! Thieves. There is no other word for them. Charged the earth for getting tenants in place who then proceeded to grow cannabis in the attic. Then charged us for two property inspections, during neither of which was the cannabis farm detected. Have nothing to do with this company,i have been trying to get my deposit of over £1000 back since july 2013.They pass the buck between each other so that the person who is \'dealing\' with the issue is never in the office.My son and his friends were grossly overcharged for damages most of which were there when they moved in.This was challenged and has been reduced considerably. If I could give them a worse review than terrible I would. From start to finish they are useless charlatons out to grab money. Disgusted with how they notified us that we were being given notice by the landlord, a text message reading "Sorry checkout 18.2.14. Cheers P @ C&M". This sort of summed up the entire experience of how they have truely been over the last 18 months, the stress they have caused, the anxiety, and illness. I hope Karma catches up with these people....

Where to begin!? The whole experience was dreadful, started badly and only got worse. When I first went to see the flat, it was obvious they hadn\'t got a clue, and much less actually cared. At first seemed really helpful, replaced the carpet and mattress in the property before we moved in as these were both heavily soiled. However once there were problems within the property they were hopeless in sorting them out. We had a leak that started off as a very small damp bit of carpet but by the time anything was done the hallway was sodden and there was mould growing everywhere.
