Horrific experiences - tardy to broken boilers, our back door was broken for a month (and allowed entry to all, so we couldn't move in for a month). They and the Landlord declined to push back the move-in date, thus losing 1100 of rent. The property wasn't cleaned twice and we ended up painting the entire property. Bed mattress was at a 45 degree angle and it took in excess of four opinions (independent company, ourselves, the letting agent and the land lord's!) in order to get it replac...

Do not use this estate agents, my company leased a property through Chancellors and the landlady illegally held our deposit and I had to take her to court to get our money back. This action took several months and was at great expense. Chancellors disclosed confidential emails to the landlady without my permission, furthermore I feel Chancellors really did make it very difficult for us to recover our deposit. I'm now having to report Chancellors to ICO. In my opinion you should seek a more ethic...

I will call you back means nothing to these people. Absolutely pathetic. I have been calling for 1 week now and they don't have any updates at all. Lettings team is hopeless. I think they have lot of properties and very few staff members to handle them. Why take so many properties when you don't have 2 minutes to call back a prospective customer. Sickening. At least increase your staff if you are short staffed. Do something about it. It is very very frustrating to call chancellors a million time...

Worst estate agents, period! Total Cowboys! I had to call their head office just to get it on right move as manager arrogant beyond belief. Even classes staff viewing property as a viewing on marketing report! After 2 months still no pic in their window and this is their only advantage over online agent. Now they tell me I have sole agency ruling for god knows how long where they can charge me to sell with someone else. How can they make money if don't sell any property?...

Chancellors East are the most dishonest, incompetent, morally bankrupt estate agents I ever had the misfortune to meet. They will charge you at every stage of the way. It does not matter if it is their mistakes, or yours, they will find a way to squeeze money out of you. While they are all sweet talk and honey before the contract is signed, they actually do not care about their tenants in the slightest. They only care about money - and tenants trying to make a home in a property managed by Chanc...

This Agent's Fees are ridiculous. They claim they can justify every single on them, which I am sure they can. But I could come up with fees and justify them too. What about £25 for the hassle of setting up a direct debit? Or how about £15 for every time we had to waste our time with them on the phone or in person?

Don't waste your time. That seems to be their job. Broken promises, disinterested staff. Never felt so under-valued by a business. How they mange to keep running is a mystery to me. Interesting that all the current reviews are over 2 years old. Avoid this agency like the plague! They are ruthless in their pursuit of commission and care little for buyer and seller. I also recently made an offer on a property which they failed to pass onto the vendor - despite their legal obligation to do this. On a Saturday they only had a pathetic 2 people to do viewings - another nearby agency had five! Not to be trusted, unprofessional and unorganized - enough said!...

Avoid this agency! The worst estate agents I have ever had to deal with. From showing us a property that didn't resemble fully the property we actually got to inflated and unnecessary charges. The people have the worst possible customer service, they do not respond when you email with issues during the tennancy. They are invasive when it comes to inspections, and they will charge you at every possible step....

Renting from Chancellors East Oxford was one of the worst experiences I've had with a company. Having signed a short let Chancellors gave us a single month's notice after one month's rental, citing the landlord's desire to have us vacate. When we queried this, as it's in contravention of the 2 month period given to Assured Shorthold Tenancies, we were told that our contract was not in this category. Chancellors had just made up a random housing contract that aimed to deprive tenants of the prote...

We are sorry to learn you feel unhappy with elements of the service you have received from our East Oxford office. Our landlord clients will inform us when they wish to serve notice on tenants; we marketed the property as a short-term let, and, as such, the landlord may require the property back at short notice. Owing to the length of the tenancy it was not classed as an assured shorthold tenancy and the deposit would not have had to have been protected, and the contract you signed confirms i....

First we bought the property through them and the sale was unnecessarily delayed for no valid reason and blamed the other party continuously. Communication from Chancellors was very poor and we had to chase them up constantly. During this time we even had to leave our own home after false promises from Chancellors and live with family miles away. This was until the house was ready and deal went through. This was 4 months down the line and we had to fork out an extra 6% on top of the agreed sale...

After many dealings with this company I can confidently tell you collectively they represent the worst traits found in estate agents. From knowingly leaving sold or let properties as available on their website to draw you in at the start, to flatly ignoring you during and at the end of the tenancy if you ever need them. If there isn't an opportunity for them to get as much money as possible out of you, they are not interested. Glad to finally nearly be done with these people although they still ...

Chancellors Ref. 12524ME2 From start to finish Chancellors (mainly Terry Proxton) made the process of selling our property as painless and straight forwards as possible. We much appreciated the honest approach and solid guidance given at every stage and the overall support was much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble and, even though you could argue 'that's what you pay for', our honest opinion is that they went the extra mile and always with a smile. Within a week of going to market we...

Chancellor's handles the difficult position of having both a landlord and a tenant as their client by assuming the tenants are idiots and wrong, and covering for the landlord. St the start of the lease the slick salesman are all friendly and supportive until you put a signature on a piece of paper; they have made their score and are moving on. They do not answer the phone anymore. We had to wait 5 days for the landlord to sign the contract making all kinds of additional costs for not being abl...

Incapable, arrogant, careless people! They never helped us when we needed. They gave us wrong information, which caused us financial loss. They always reminded us to do our duty, but they never did theirs. We paid a lot of money for nothing! As we complained they treated us like s##t, humiliated us by declaring that all our problems are fake. One thing is important for them: money. I would never recommend anyone to do any business with them....

I wish to say a huge thank you to Grace Curry at Chancellors Chesham for her help and dedication to her job. Our current landlord sold the property and I started a search for a new home just after Christmas (we had 4 months notice, so not a problem I thought). However, as we have 2 dogs, it was proving to be very difficult to find a property that would accept our beloved pets. But I then contacted Chancellors Chesham about a pet friendly property and Grace got me a viewing that day. Sadly th...

I cannot put into words how much I would discourage you from using this awful estate agents. They are the rudest, most unorganised, dishonest, unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. We started renting with them in November last year, it is now May and our pre-tenancy work is still outstanding. There was a lot of work that needed to be done on the house, it was in a dangerous condition, yet they don't see exposed wires, rising damp, mould, and pest infestations as priorities. ...

Both the landlord and myself have been disgusted at Chancellors' inability to carry out basic tasks or respond to requests. They ignore emails, it typically takes several reminders before an inevitably unsatisfactory response is given. I had overpaid my account (due to paying 5 months upfront - I had moved from abroad and there was no data for a credit check) and it took 2-3 months for them to resolve. During that process they never responded to my first mails, everything took at least one re...

I cant list the names of those that gave poor customer service as there are so many. Having raised with the senior team the response was hidden behind T&C's. Rhianna was very helpful when I was looking at properties, she seemed to have a good idea of what I was looking for and recommended a number of properties which I considered making offers on before settling on the one I eventually brought. She was very quick at getting back to me with any questions I had though out the process, and was also very quick to get back to me when dealing with the sellers - which was very useful as they were very difficult people to get hold of....

I'd suggest visiting the branch before proceeding with this agent, the appearance is somewhat akin to sweatshop with crowded desks full of inexperienced agents who appeared to be little over school-leaver ages, something we didn't realize until the lack of experience became painfully evident during the 10 long and painful months it took them to sell our properties. We're both experienced in house buying, selling, and letting, and thought we'd try Chancellors for a change after having generall...
