Very unprofessional. Changed the time of the appointment on the day via email and then wouldn't respond. First placed didn't even have an lights, smelled of cigarettes and had the gall to say it had just been decorated. Arrived at the second place for the agent to have the wrong keys. Never received such bad treatment from any company than I have as tenant/ex-tenant of a property managed by chancellors estate agents. Unfortunately renting a house through Chancellors was one of the most stressful times we have had. My experience in the property was great. But Chancellors were slow to reply to any emails we sent in the build up to renting the property, never able to take calls and generally quick to avoid doing any work. We asked for specific terms to be added to our contract, which they said was fine and approved. The rental process with Chancellors has been a completely nightmare! I had lots of problems to get my keys once I had paid the cleared funds. I had to let in your office the luggage and came back 4 times to get my keys because the person who managed this wasn't in the office to tell if the reference was ok. Horrific experiences - tardy to broken boilers, our back door was broken for a month (and allowed entry to all, so we couldn't move in for a month). They and the Landlord declined to push back the move-in date, thus losing £1100 of rent. The property wasn't cleaned twice and we ended up painting the entire property. Do not use this estate agents, my company leased a property through Chancellors and the landlady illegally held our deposit and I had to take her to court to get our money back. This action took several months and was at great expense. I will call you back means nothing to these people. Absolutely pathetic. I have been calling for 1 week now and they don't have any updates at all. Lettings team is hopeless. I think they have lot of properties and very few staff members to handle them. Why take so many properties when you don't have 2 minutes to call back a prospective customer. Sickening. At least increase your staff if you are short staffed. Do something about it. It is very very frustrating to call chancellors a million time...

Worst estate agents, period! Total Cowboys! I had to call their head office just to get it on right move as manager arrogant beyond belief. Chancellors East are the most dishonest, incompetent, morally bankrupt estate agents I ever had the misfortune to meet. They will charge you at every stage of the way. It does not matter if it is their mistakes, or yours, they will find a way to squeeze money out of you. This Agent's Fees are ridiculous. They claim they can justify every single on them, which I am sure they can. But I could come up with fees and justify them too. What about ‚£25 for the hassle of setting up a direct debit? Or how about ‚£15 for every time we had to waste our time with them on the phone or in person?

Interesting that all the current reviews are over 2 years old. Avoid this agency like the plague! They are ruthless in their pursuit of commission and care little for buyer and seller. I also recently made an offer on a property which they failed to pass onto the vendor - despite their legal obligation to do this. On a Saturday they only had a pathetic 2 people to do viewings - another nearby agency had five! Not to be trusted, unprofessional and unorganized - enough said!...

Avoid this agency! The worst estate agents I have ever had to deal with. From showing us a property that didn't resemble fully the property we actually got to inflated and unnecessary charges. First we bought the property through them and the sale was unnecessarily delayed for no valid reason and blamed the other party continuously. Communication from Chancellors was very poor and we had to chase them up constantly. During this time we even had to leave our own home after false promises from Chancellors and live with family miles away. This was until the house was ready and deal went through. Chancellor's handles the difficult position of having both a landlord and a tenant as their client by assuming the tenants are idiots and wrong, and covering for the landlord. Incapable, arrogant, careless people! They never helped us when we needed. They gave us wrong information, which caused us financial loss. They always reminded us to do our duty, but they never did theirs. We paid a lot of money for nothing! As we complained they treated us like s##t, humiliated us by declaring that all our problems are fake. One thing is important for them: money. I cannot put into words how much I would discourage you from using this awful estate agents. They are the rudest, most unorganised, dishonest, unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. We started renting with them in November last year, it is now May and our pre-tenancy work is still outstanding. As soon as he got his commission we never heard from him again. There was so much work that needed to be done and he assured us that he would help to push this forward. We haven't heard from him since getting the keys. Absolutely useless.

Let my house with Chancellors no problems Tenant easily found. They handle everything that is where the problem starts. Their maintenance department is terrible they send out their contractors to diagnose faults and carry out repairs. Three times to diagnose one fault 3 lots of costs and parts supplied.
