Absolutely terrible! After having encountered continual problem after problem throughout our 1 year tenancy, they had the cheek to deduct over 60% off of our deposit return with no valid explanation or reason at the end of the year. Bernards have dealt with letting my property for nearly 20yrs I found them to be very thorough and professional. They also dealt with the sale of the property very efficiently.. I would highly recommend them as a property agent....

I am a student and rented out a house in Fratton with 4 other girls. I was EXTREMELY dissapointed with the customer service at Bernards. They were never available for important maintainance issues nor would they respond to our issues quick enough. Along side that they had the cheek to take £40 off each of our deposits leaving them with £200 of our money for things we had not done e.g a missing mirror and chair (which were already absent before we even rented the property out) if you...

I rented a property of Bernards for about 3 years. They weren't very good at coming in and fixing issues we had with the flat. It took them over 5 days to come in and fix our freezer, in which I had to throw away all my food. At the end of the lease they tried to charge us a ridiculous amount to clean the flat even though we hired a professional cleaner in. The also tried to charge us £100 for removal of a mop and bucket and for 2 spotlights. They are a rip off and try take any money they ...

I bought a property from this estate agents. They bullied me into using their mortgage advisor, and told me I couldn't even view the property unless I used them. After it completed they had students signed up for the following academic year, and forgot to tell me they are going to try and charge me a £2000 finders fee. Bernards were instructed by a property owner in this block to sell their property. During the course of this they were told that the share of freehold was imminent.And they published this on Rightmove in the property description. They sold the property. Using this information about the freehold they have put in an offer for the freehold to the current freeholder....

Without going into too much detail, I have never dealt with a company as bad as this, problem after problem. the apartment itself was lovely however the people we dealt with (most of them) where horrendous. they held our deposit and charged us over £160 to clean some dust of skirting boards? we where left with no water for over 3 days!! and bernards did nothing. If i where you do not use this company you will be very very disappointed and it is more stress than its worth....

The fee for the apartment itself was fair, loved the place. However we paid deposit of ‚£675 and they withheld over ‚£160 for minor issues such as dust, even though we left house early due to the issues with them so this is why it became dusty!!!

Well... Where to start?! Perfect flat in a perfect location, absolute nightmare estate agent made us want to leave From start to finish Bernard's were a nightmare.. From the first day we pick up our keys and the estate agent was late, to the last day of our tenancy and the estate agent just never turned up! I could write 1,000 essay on everything Bernard's didn't do but quite frankly I want to move on and be happy to never hear the word Bernard's again :/ what I will do is bullet point...

The service I received from Bernards was excellent. Jim dealt with the sale of my property. He went out of his way to help, he was courteous throughout as were every member of the North End team I spoke with. I can honestly say that if Jim hadn't have been dealing with the sale it would have taken months. I genuinely can't speak highly enough of the service I received. We found a property to let from Bernards which was advertised as available now. We agreed to take the property, paid our deposit and were suppose to collect our keys Thursday 28th November. on the Wednesday evening we had a phone call to say the move was off. As you can imagine we had arranged removal vehicles, mail re-direction, our whole house was in boxes and there was a tenant moving into our property we currently rent. What agent could do to change your mind?
They could have returned our calls. They could have replied to emails. They could have been honest instead of stringing us along and after all we had been through and they could have given us our deposit back when they said they were going to.
