Absolutely appalling service; this letting agent will be polite and lovely with you, up until the point that they have your money. They refused to complete repairs for the entire year that I rented with them, which caused me extensive damage to personal property. And don't expect them to get back to you quickly if you do need to contact your landlord- you will have to chase them up repeatedly to get any information. I am reluctant to give even one star. The most awful agency I have ever used (and I have done two degrees so rented as a student through several agencies). Made every effort to screw us with deposit to whack on their £60 admin charge. Inspections 3 times a year - such a privacy invasion. We viewed the property in February 2013. We applied (paying the fees as requested) and stated that if we were to take the property the broken windows must be repaired, the broken plug sockets must be repaired and the large quantity of discarded furniture, rubbish, shopping trolleys and old clothing must be removed from the garden. From day one Archer Bassett are more concerned with making money than anything else. They have proven to be a terrible horrendous agency I would plead with all landlords in the area to avoid them. They commonly will add fees and charges, lie about inspections, the tenants they found did a runner and they voided my rent guarantee quoting a vague T&C, and finally they still had the nerve to charge me from the deposit money the final months fee including the rent guarantee fees!!!! I am absolutely relieved that I did not get the property I was perspectiely looking at. Archer bassett look down on others status if you are not workin full time. A little respect goes a long way. Get trained as well as you boast about how well you are. Manners are free, use them! Speak the truth and you will be used more rather than be ran a mile away from.

Whatever you do, do not go with Archer Bassett. They are absolute incompetent fools who are jumped up wannabe professionals who happen to own a suit. I began my tenancy with Archer Basset on 28th June 2013, since that date I have had multiple issues with my property but also issues with getting them resolved aswell! Unfortunately terrible is the worst option. My time with them has been beyond terrible, I have been ringing them every week for problems to be fixed , and they never do!!! I here them huff down the phone when they know its me and worst of all they con you into huge bills to actually get the house and now I\'ve had to sign a contract saying ill pay them more just to leave... I will never rent through this company again. They claimmed to have found me 3 tennats .. but not one tennat decided to book the property. I later found out that Archer Basset had actually taken teh deposit of the tennants and then when two failed the credit check, Archer bassett too almost 100 pounds out of teh 250 pounds deposit. The property was advertised as a 3 bedroom semi-detarched property with a 2 toilets and one bathroom. While viewing the property before renting, we were informed that the toilet downstairs was faulty but would be fixed. Due to the fact that we needed to relocate urgently, we paid and moved in. A terrible experience as a landlord. If you are a landlord looking for an agency to work on your behalf DO NOT GO TO ARCHER BASSETT. They say in the inspection reports that nothing\'s wrong and everything\'s clean. When we went to see the property ourselves believing that these were true, found the place in a terrible mess without anything cleaned at all. I totally agree with the landlord. Archer Basset are a waste of space. The comment about the inspection reports is completely true. I have re carpeted and re painted the property. Instructed the agent to ensure no re decoration is done by the tenant. What do I find when the tenant left. The property was re decorated to a poor standard and the property was left in a terrible mess. I have a number of properties which I will never rent through Archers again. Bad bad agents.....

Upon completing a viewing on Saturday 23rd June my girlfriend went to pay the "reservation fee" to RESERVE the property which we were told was done by a "first come, first served" basis by Stephan. While there she again asked if anyone else had put a deposit on the property and was told categorically "no" and that it was still available. What agent could do to change your mind?
1. Either clean the house when you say you will, or let them into the dump of a property you're "managing" when the tenant wants. 2. Replace a fire exit door straight away, as the law demands - if I could change anything, I'd have reported you to the council the same week as the incident occurred for breach of contract, breaking the law and endangering my life.

We are quite disturbed to say the least after reading this review. We have checked through our systems in all of our 3 branches and spoke to every single member of staff and we cannot find any recent maintenance issues that match your above review. Futhermore we would NEVER instruct any of our contractors to seal a door shut especially if it was a fire exit and neither would we take weeks (regardless of our instruction from the landlord) to replace/repair an external door.
