Sadly I can't give a '0' star for this. What an absolute shambles of a company. No communication, false promises. All they care about is money. As a landlord we put our trust into them to manage our property and they were nothing but a huge let down. DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENTS - as a landlord I foolishly thought that using an agent would provide a certain amount of support and security - I couldn't have been more mistaken. Awful, dishonest and purely interested in achieving their own targets. They will say anything to get to sign the contract and I was also mislead and mis-sold additional extras which I did not need and was asked to pay upfront for them in my own home. Rented for 9 months and all was fine (if you take no contact at all as fine), but no guidance given about the world of renting, and this was our first rental. Have now tried to get my deposit back for over two months and despite repeated e-mails, requests and promises, nothing has been received. Am having to take time off work to go and sit in their offices until it is done. Would never deal with these charlatans again...

This agency is the worst one you could come across and I would highly recommend to avoid it at all costs. I have been renting one of their properties in Oxford for a year and since the first day we had so many issues and problems that made me never want to deal with estate agents again. Exorbitant fees and very unfair. We have asked to surrender our tenancy, and we vacated the property two weeks earlier that our contract termination date. We found the new tenants through Spareroom and they moved in the property two days later. They asked us to pay an early termination fee of 354 pounds (with VAT) for these two weeks and for the fact that we did their job again finding tenants, the agent not even attending the viewing.

Terrible!! As a landlord I relied upon Allen and Harris to manage the property appropriately. The property (second floor flat) was refurbished before letting and the first tenants appeared fine. Absolutely the worst lettings agent I have ever dealt with. They are very keen to get you through your door and take your money but then the service stops there. It took me 4 months and 9 months respectively to sort repairs and one repair is still outstanding after 10 months, I have now reported this to the local council. I was served notice to leave at the end of my tenancy with no discussion or reason. I will be glad to leave and would never recommend anyone to use this abysmal company....

No stars wasn't an option unfortunately. Avoid. Pressure you into seeing their own broker to get onto a 'favoured list' which is appalling. I appreciate offers need to be verified however it just takes a call to my own broker. I was advised if I saw their broker I could increase my budget, which is a very irresponsible suggestion. Worst agent I have ever had to deal with. Wanted to view a property and they kept on wanting to make me come into see their mortgage adviser. Told them I'm fine and they wouldn't listen the man on the phone was so pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer. Some how just about managed to get a viewing but had to tell him NO about 7 times regarding seeing his mortgage adviser. Stay clear of this agent very unhelpful...

For maintenance issues i have dealt with the Central Cardiff office. As with most large centralised companies there are issues which i assume is probably down to the sheer volumes of requests received. However i have to say whenever i have a critical issue that needs sorting then Helen Nash has always been superb in helping resolve the issue very quickly, so certainly a big credit to her....

Allan & Harris are not proactive, and do not follow sales through once they have found a buyer. They don't keep other parties informed and are bad at communicating with other agents and solicitors. If you use them your purchase / sale with take much longer and me much more stressful....

The pre-arranged survey was also appalling, as they did not bother to turn up and when I telephoned them, they told me a different date on the phone to the one they booked and sent a text confirmation on. calamitous. Wrong description to accompany the wrong photos was the starting point. The honesty of I just guessed what to say as i hadn't seen the property was refreshing. Viewings were arranged, re-arranged, cancelled and then came out of the blue without notice, usually with the viewers arriving before the agent.
