Mission
Giving Sellers and Landlords a truly excellent experience using premium quality marketing, thoughtful negotiation and clear communication every step of the way.
Company Overview
In the late 1990s our founder was trying to sell his period house in Peckham.....and getting nowhere. It was a beautiful, early Victorian property on four floors but the agents didn't seem to know how to market it. After months of frustration he decided to set up his own agency and do the job properly.
Description
Headquartered in one of Camberwell’s most historic and beautiful buildings, Wooster & Stock is a full service estate agency dealing with the best properties in south London. Our sensational new Brixton office means we can now service clients much further west and a revamped Sydenham office is well underway.
We believe in doing as much as we can in-house. We have our own photographers, our own writers and our own qualified engineers and tradesmen. These services are central to our ethos of a complete and high quality offer for clients. Landlords get the same superb marketing as Vendors. First class photography, floor plans, location maps, and refreshing descriptions are all quickly prepared for exposure on our market leading website and sent instantly to the right people.
Wooster and Stock has not joined our 'transparent agent' scheme yet.

Its always great to have your faith restored in Estate Agents and Wooster & Stock did just that and more. A professional but friendly service from the start. I met with Luke who valued my property and from that moment on I was confident I was in good hands. No wide boy chat from these guys. The property was photographed beautifully and the write up was honest, witty and informative. Thanh was fantastic in advising us on everything from pricing, arranging viewings, to negotiating more challenging parts of the sale. Always proactive and on top of everything, more so than my Solicitor, so someone like Thanh is a real asset when your not familiar with the world of property buying and selling. Prior to selecting Wooster & Stock to sell my property, I had been advised to market my property for a lot less and for higher fees and frankly the advice from a huge, well known chain was amateur. I cannot reccomend Wooster & Stock highly enough and if I sell a future property, they would undoubtedly be my first choice.

We had had our property on with another agent for some time and had decided to look elsewhere when our property didn't sell. We'd been hearing good things from friends about Wooster and Stock (some had rented through them, others had sold) so decided to get them round for a valuation. We then went into the office to chat things through and found Jenny and her staff to be down to earth and friendly. They got people through the door who seemed genuinely interested in our property (rather than poorly researched clients who were never going to buy). We dealt mostly with Kristy who had a no... I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Wooster & Stock, Brixton, to anyone who wished to sell their property in that area. I met Luke Bishop first, who was very professional and came to value my flat. Then I met Gemma Whelan, who was my agent on this sale, who came to take photographs and wrote the witty and original description of my flat to put on their website. This sale was not easy - there were issues with an extension of the lease - and it took some months to reach exchange/completion. Throughout the whole process, Gemma Whelan has been a fount of knowledge and a source of constant encouragement. I could not have asked for a better agent to help me. She returned my calls/responded to my emails with alacrity and, with her extensive experience, was able to allay my concerns and to chivvy me up when I flagged. Gemma, I think, is an exceptional agent and, with her on your side, you will emerge from the jungle. A million thanks to her for such fantastic support.

Agents gave solid realistic valuation, Marketing of the house was excellent with many good photos on the website and viewings began after only a few days. Viewings always took place with plenty of notice, and the agents were super careful with my two friendly but naughty and escape prone Siamese cats. Really impressive professional service, and also actually nice people to deal with - house sales aren't the nicest things to deal with and dealing with people who are genuinely friendly (and efficient) helps a lot. Wooster and Stock are basically the polar opposite of the 'big name', miserable, stack 'em high and sell 'em short estate agents I've had the misfortune to have to deal with.

Moved into an overpriced decrepit house on Grove Lane owned by Wooster & Stock. Upon moving in my room was unlivable, with an entire wall covered in damp and the whole room covered in filth. It took 3 months of unanswered emails for Bruce to send someone to fix the wall. In between those three months the damp spread throughout my room and into the bathroom. I always dealt with a different estate agent each time I spoke to W&S, and none of them seemed to communicate with one another, so I was always getting different information. On top of that we had no heat and Bruce didn't send... (read more)

We found the staff to be very professional in arranging for the sale of our house. Even though the negotiations were not straightforward, they acted courteously. They worked to get us the right price for our home. We can certainly recommend the Wooster & Stock team at Sydenham.

We only have good things to say about the professional service we have received from Wooster and Stock. We had a particularly difficult sale and and felt supported throughout the process, the sticky situations were dealt with in a calm and easy manner.
The agents even made themselves available on their days off and holidays!!!
I highly, highly recommend the Brixton office and the staff to anyone in the area.

Currently living in one of the properties they manage and from the time we have moved in they have been very helpful despite a difficult landlord. Their management department have helped in everyway possible and have made us feel very comfortable. We will certainly look for another property through them when we move from here as they are not the usual agency and really go the extra mile.

Luke and his team provided an excellent service.
They understood quickly what we were looking for and Luke has a nice laid back manner. More importantly, he clearly knows the area and so I felt I could trust his judgement.
They were always accomodating with viewings (we had 3). Crucially, they kept the pressure on both sides to reach settlement before completion but did so with a friendly manner.

They showed nothing but calm professionalism and i had no qualms about leaving them with keys and negotiations.

Wooster & Stock had managed my tenanted property for many years and given an exceptional service so I had no hesitation in appointing them as Agent when I wanted to sell my property. They were totally professional, polite, attentive and very speedy - I sold within a short time at the asking price. I am delighted and would recommend them without reservation.

In total the property was on the market for 6 months. It took a while for viewings to get going and then it felt like things slowed down. Whether this was due to a slow period in the market or an element of inactivity on the part of the agent I really couldn't say for sure. However, with the introduction of a new agent (Julia Russell) a suitable offer was accepted and a sale was achieved quickly and successfully. Julia was there to help with the problems that come with seeing a sale through and worked hard to keep the solicitors, seller and buyers well informed and in constant discussion. Keeping a sale ticking over without any lulls is no mean feat and it's generous acts such as Julia providing a contact number whilst on holiday that really makes the difference.

I am still quite shocked how Wooster & Stock has treated us after we moved out from one of their properties. There's been a complete lack of communication, and it took over 3 months to get our deposit back after numerous call, e-mails and showing up at their office. At one point I was even worried that we would never get our money back. If I knew how horrible we would be treated I would never have used this agency, and I would strongly recommend everyone to stay away from them, especially if you're a student and not one of their "valuable" clients.
I've sent them an e-mail to complaint, but haven't recieved an answer.

The good thing was that Wooster and stock sold my property although the price achieved was less than hoped for.Like a lot of other property in South London I had had subsidence issues in the past which put a lot of people off and allowed negotiation from the eventual buyers. Wooster and Stock were able to get a lot of potential customers through the door so we had lots of viewings. The viewings were all carried out by the staff and they communicated well with us over this. It seems that they have a strong presence in Camberwell so I felt that they tapped into the potential interest very well.

Wooster and Stock provided a very professional service throughout our sale. They provided good advice and handled our very difficult buyer very well. Excellent quality of publicity and sales promotion - very polished marketing, which led to a good price for our house in a time when it's difficult to sell. It felt like a very bespoke service, always attentive to our needs - a good balance of personal and professional. I would highly recommend Wooster and Stock to anyone wanting to sell in this area.

I cannot praise Wooster & Stock highly enough. I found all of the staff to be efficient & professional & despite a difficult sale process, as a result of the first purchaser pulling out, the staff worked hard to achieve a sale as quickly as possible for me. Their sales particulars and photographs are excellent compared with other estate agents. I would not hesitate in using Wooster & Stock again if the need arose.

We had 4 other agents come to value our unusual property with huge roof terrace, they all valued it at around £450,000.00, while Woosters saw the potential and valued it at £575,000.00. Thanks to their belief, we have now sold it at near the asking price. Thanks for believing Woosters!!! Other agents might have a little bit of egg on their faces, you know who you are! Kristy and Jenny were both highly personable and efficient, sensitive and professional. A notch above the rest!

We could not have had a better experience than with Wooster and Stock. Right from the beginning their customer service was absolutely first class. They helped get us a great price for the property, worked on a very tight commission and were instrumental in getting the sale through. In particular, Gemma was an absolute star and worked so hard for us. In our brief dealings with Luke he was also fantastic as well. Estate Agents generally don't get the best reputations, but these guys were flawless and I could not have asked for better service. I would recommend them to anyone

Generally I fathom to understand just how a property rental agency can get things so wrong. The level of customer service is beyond appalling, along with the lack of communication and the lack of action. It's not a matter of waiting for days for things to be sorted with them, or even weeks. It goes into months. Literally.
Their complaints process seems to based around ignoring you, and then when things escalate, rude and threatening. Once they have your deposit and first months rent, they just don't want to know. Having looked at the recent positive reviews on this site and the prior negative ones, I can only assume that Wooster & Stock have got all their employes to write positively about them. In particular their MD complained about this site on EstateAgentToday.co.uk, thus I imagine these positive reviews are a damage limitation exercise.
I can only recommend people to avoid this company at all costs. Please read the early negative reviews for a true experience.

We were recommended Luke at Wooster & Stock when we were looking to sell our house. From the off he impressed with his knowledge and professional manner. Out of all the agents I met he was the most cautious- indeed realistic- about what we should market our house for, not just telling me what I wanted to hear! Whilst we sold our house in less than a week, it took us a long time to find a property to move to. Throughout the process Luke was a great help and made the final sales process as pain free as possible. He was always available, very proactive and really great at moving things on. Luke, and all those I met from W&S Brixton, listened, were willing to help and a pleasure to deal with. I would thoroughly recommend them as a level above most of those in the market- they offer a great service.

We have just completed buying a house through Wooster and Stock and cannot rate them highly enough. Agent Gemma Whelan could not have been more helpful. Regular contact, prompt responses to communication, chasing stuff on our behalf, courteous, professional, fighting you corner, transparent, reliable and willing to go above and beyond her responsibilities. This is the first time we've bought a house and Gemma made the whole process very smooth. Could not have asked for more and have been very satisfied with the service. Would recommend them very highly to anyone.

8/10. Firstly the quality of the pictures advertising the property on the web was excellent enhanced by a brilliant write up that was engaging, witty and also to the point. The let was slightly complicated in that animals were involved but Jade (lettings agent) did not bat an eyelid and found several suitable people. However when I had to pull out due to a collapse in the chain my end ie totally genuine reasons I got the impression that they thought I was just messing them around. So this was the only low point. The star of the show though was Zack - front of house - often a weak point in all companies whose efficiency and enthusiasm played an invaluable role in making things go smoothly.

We recently (September-October 2012) worked with Wooster and Stock to market our two bedroom garden flat. We found their approach to be both friendly and professional at all times. We were very impressed with the level of detail and care they took at each level of our transaction with them. Phone calls and emails were responded to quickly and any queries dealt with in a direct and honest manner. Their in-house photographer (Paul) was excellent and took lovely photos of our flat. While we didn't have a large number of viewings, the ones we did were exactly the types of buyers we were aiming to attract and had a solid offer within two weeks of our flat being on the market. You will get quality and honest (most important in this sector!) service from Wooster and Stock. We found both Gemma and Luke great to work with and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them and the company to anyone wishing to sell their property.

It was an extremely slow and frustrating process arranging the sale of my property and it felt like it was never going to happen. I thank Wooster and Stock for helping negotiate with the seller and for their flexibiltiy in letting me view the flat and gain access. Their style is relaxed, unpushy and enthuisiastic. I am so pleased to move to the Camberwell area and the more I find out about it, the more I love it. Thank you Julia!

We had a very positive experience of Wooster and Stock, following a long period of looking and a purchase we had to abort, partly because of information not passed on by another agent. The whole process took just over 7 weeks and Kristy was in contact with us every step of the way. I felt she bridged the gap between all interested parties smoothly and with sensitivity. Everyone in the office was helpful, polite and speedy in responding to our questions - all of which were taken seriously, no matter how apparently trivial. I'd highly recommend them.

Wooster & Stock deal with a huge number of students tenants, as many agents in the area do not entertain the student market at all, we make a point to ensure that students are given advice and guidance and offer a good selection of properties that would not usually be available to students, furthermore Wooster & Stock are frequently invited to student housing days and offer advice and support to students – we and our landlords very much value our student tenants. The property in question is a large and old Georgian house let to a large group of house sharers. As in all tenancies... (read more)
