Company Overview
In the late 1990s our founder was trying to sell his period house in Peckham.....and getting nowhere. It was a beautiful, early Victorian property on four floors but the agents didn't seem to know how to market it. After months of frustration he decided to set up his own agency and do the job properly.

Headquartered in one of Camberwell’s most historic and beautiful buildings, Wooster & Stock is a full service estate agency dealing with the best properties in south London. Our sensational new Brixton office means we can now service clients much further west and a revamped Sydenham office is well underway.
We believe in doing as much as we can in-house. We have our own photographers, our own writers and our own qualified engineers and tradesmen. These services are central to our ethos of a complete and high quality offer for clients. Landlords get the same superb marketing as Vendors. From day 1, Kristy was really friendly, answering our emails very promptly, and we manged to secure a great property with her help and patience. I hadnt realised how complicated the coordination between the whole team would need to be. But it worked well. Wooster & Stock was recommened to us by a friend and we will be doing the same. Thanks very much again.

I had four estate agents round to the flat to view the property - they all quoted different prices which was interesting. I met Jenny Holland from Woosters who was very friendly and honest. Her estimate was in the middle and the report she submitted was very thorough. I felt most at ease with her and she had a good sense of humour.
I then checked the W & S website which was the best out of the five I saw so I decided to go with them. The photographer then came and was very nice and quick. We sold our house in Camberwell through Wooster & Stock last July. The sale was in no way straight forward and Becky was thoroughly calm, patient and professional throughout the process. Our Solicitor remarked that she had never worked with an estate agent of such a high standard in over 30 years of practice. We have no hesitation in recommending W&S if you are thinking of selling a property in South London.

I sold my flat through W and S in July 2011, I found them professional in every way. The flat sold within 7 days and Becky was not only extremely helpful, but negotiated efficinetly with the buyers and enabled the sale to go through smoothly. Their local knowledge and success was the reason I selected them and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Wooster and stock sold my house during a difficult time for the property market at the end of last year. Although Jade is a new member of staff I found her to be proffessional, thorough and extremely pleasant throughout the transaction, which was particularly lengthy and at times very stressful. After the sale I also received a glossy book detailing my house which was a lovely gesture. I wouldn't hesitate to use Wooster and Stock again for a future sale or purchase.

Becky was very patient and helpful, and once I had visited a few properties, she knew exactly the type of property I was interested in. Wooster and Stock were very good at communicating at all times, managing the offer process well, and after the offer was agreed were happy to arrange to visit the house to plan how my furniture would work. I highly recommend their personal and professional service.

We have bought, sold and let properties through W&S. I have dealt with most members of staff there from accounts, everyone is sales and letting to the photgrapher and website person. Every one of them has been friendly, professional and on the ball. We use a lot of different agents in different areas of central London and if W&S were in all the area where our company has properties we would use them. You can talk to them honestly about prices, if a property is not selling they will tell you why, if you ask them. But they usually get the price right on how much to charge for rentals and sales anyway. I like the style of this company too. They have a way about them that is not like other estate agents. Just look at one of the properties for sale on their website. the way it's described isn't agent talk. I would have not problem recommending them to anyone, even to my mother, that's how good they are.

Wooster & Stock Sydenham Branch have assisted me in letting and managing my properties over the past 5 years or so.They have often gone beyond the usual levels of customer service by showing a marked willingness to close deals, give information or advice to both Landlords and tenants and sacrifice some of their own time outside of office hours.

We already have three viewings and we are openly raving about the professionalism, proactivity and charm of every member of staff that we have dealt with so far. We know that the team will keep on impressing us and that Wooster Stock are the right and only choice of agent in and around SE5.

We have both sold and bought properties through the Wooster & Stock office based in SE5 and we have been extremely happy with the service on both occasions. When it came to selling, we chose W&S because we always felt that their website was the best of the agents in the area. They always include a large number of quality photographs, engaging copy about the property and a useful and accurate floorplan. I sold a development property in Brixton through W&S's new Brixton Branch late 2011. As with many people I have bad history of dealing with estate agents but life is life and I needed one.....Luke came to give a valuation and I liked him instantly. He was the new manager of the Brixton branch and obviously knew the local area well.
I put the property on the market with W&S and shockingly within 4 days we had two viewings and an almost asking price offer. Gemma took over management of the sale and she was great at putting the purchasers at ease about some things that came up during the sale that could have possibly lost us the sale.
All went well and it was a surprisingly smooth sale. I'm just about to market another development in Old Street and I'm slightly disappointed I can't use these guys again.

Very pleasant to deal with. Not pushy at all and worked very hard to get a lot of people through the door. As a result we received the offer we wanted within three weeks. During and after the sale the people at Wooster have always made themselves available to answer any questions we've had. We have recommended them to friends and would definitely use them again in the future.

We had a fantastic experience with Wooster and Stock! Kristy was incredibly professional and efficient at all times and all her colleagues were very obliging when we made contact with the office. The quality of communication was second to one with Kristy even leaving her postal contact details with us on her days off. if it hadn't been for her patience and support through a very stressful purchasing experience due to the vendor we would never have managed to complete!

I have had the pleasure of using Wooster and Stock for a number of years now. Initially I brought a property from the team and I was well looked after, so much so that I formed some great friendships in the process. The team where so supportive and excited about my purchase, it was quite refreshing. I also rented this property through Wooster and Stock and again, such a great bunch. They were profressional, supportive, hard working and always bent over backwards to help. Most importantly, they were always positive and "can do". I had a rough sale process, by no fault of their own but the team encouraged, supported and kept me smiling through to a final sale. I am new as a property developer and I asked several agents for advice during my development and only jenny took the time to come to the property on several occasions and gave me very detailed and thoughtful advice. In all she must have spent around 7-8 hours helping me, for which I am very grateful.
During the sale I found their whole team to have a relaxed friendly and professional approach. I got regular feedback from the viewings to the extent that they clearly had a good rapport with prospective buyers. Their systems were good and they got back to me very quickly with any queries. Once under offer they helped move the sale on efficiently liasing with all parties and solicitors. I would strongly recommend them. I have had to deal with other agents in looking for my next project and the industry norm lags far behind what I experienced with Wooster and Stock.Was this review helpful? Yes

I have rented all over London for the last 15 years and never have i encountered such a badly run company. If you want poor communication, incompetence and negligence Wooster are the company for you! I know its not always possible to choose your agents, but avoid these amateurs if at all possible! It will save you many headaches!
As has been the talk recently, i really hope the government introduces some legislation to stop total retards like Wooster & Stock from setting up letting agent companies, it really does show that any fool can work in this business and its not fair to all those who have to deal with such unqualified so called professionals!
So long Wooster & Stock, maybe 2012 will be the year you take your head out of your ass, but i doubt it!

I left my house a while ago but thought I should warn people NOT to let a house with them, the previous tenants of the house told us but we thought they couldn't be that bad so went ahead! The agent was always late, brought the wrong keys to let us in for the viewing, never called back or passed on messages. It was like getting blood out of a stone to get them to fix anything and when they did it was done poorly. They told us it wouldn't be a problem to extend our contract for another year, they then told us the landlord wanted to sell the house and we later found out it was actually the manager of Wooster and Stock who was moving into the house. They tried to get as much money out of us as they possibly could - for example, £85 to replace the light bulbs. If you rent with them you won't have any chance of getting your deposit back. Don't rent with them no matter how nice the house is or how flashy their office appears - it's not worth it!

Wooster and Stock are inefficient. On several occasions they failed to communicate or do their job properly throughout our 18 month tenancy. Our move in was delayed by three weeks because of their failure to provide us with the correct paperwork, of which we were only informed upon an attempt to collect the keys, they also charged us a fifty pound admin fee for us to print off our own contracts! When we terminated out contract they never gave us more than 2 hours notice to look around and I had to be present at every viewing as they failed to arrange to get the correct keys even though I had told them months before their set were wrong. They have screwed us over multiple times over the contract by not being present and taking advantage of the fact we were students. If using W&S be very very thorough!!!!!! Or alternatively just don't.

I rented from them for two years and was rarely without problems. Between broken promises to have something installed to poor maintenance work which consisted of a variety of quick fixes and cheap replacements - which meant things invariantly broke again. Other major issues (like no boiler and leaking roof) took months to fix.
In all my dealings with them communication was poor, with customer service which bordered on rude.
I would go to great lengths never to deal with them again - prospective renters should do the same.

I originally phoned Wooster & Stock about a property I had seen on their website. When I mentioned which property I was interested in, the agent was seemingly annoyed that I had rang about it. She said it had a 'Let S.T.C.' mark on it. As it happens I hadn't noticed the mark, but it does beg the question that if you still have it listed on your website, surely it's because you still want to get interest from potential customers just in case - or is it simply a Bullseye style "This is what you could have won!" situation?

I am currently renting from them, all I can say is stay away! I cannot wait to escape their clutches. A month after moving in I read these reviews, and so have taken extra precautions in the hope I will get my deposit back.
They are terrible with communications, I have to re-forward emails numerous times before receiving a reply. They are cocky and rude, act as if I am working for them. The most incompetent agency I have ever rented from, don't even think about going near them.

Countless issues. Shoddy paperwork. No idea when it comes to organising the accounts. Above all customer service was despicable, in the whole 2 and a half weeks I was dealing with them not once were my phone calls returned. I have never had less trust in a company

Currently trying to get back my deposit and rent they owe me. Completely slow and unprofessional service. Have been waiting 6 weeks for them to return rent they overcharged me for when I vacated (which I was assured would be refunded), are trying to charge me for things on the check out inspection which were clearly documented as damaged on the inventory when we moved in (which I have pointed out to them twice now yet they remain on the final report???).

I don't normally write things on these type of websites but I thought I should warn people not to think about renting through this agency.
I think I made a lucky escape from them, I almost rented a property from them but after reading there reviews and experiencing a viewing with them - they are just as bad as Foxtons at 'bigging' up a property.

The most horrible letting agent ever. The property maintenance coordinator is completely useless! We had to suffer the coldest winter without proper heating. Sent in numerous cowboys to try fix the boiler but unsuccessful. We have no TV aerial at all. For 7 months we have repeatedly asked them to get one fixed. Only now they said it was not a necessity and not going to fix it and it was down to the landlord. However the landlord is the owner and the director of Wooster and Stock. How ridiculous is that. Completely useless.

Don't bother wasting your time with them. Had me down from up north to see a place even though I'd explained my details in full beforehand, and assumed I stood a chance. Misleading advert, and the guy was arrogant and grumpy sounding too, promised to ring me back and didn't. So wasted an afternoon waiting around for a call, instead of going home. Wanted the property too and not being funny but I can afford to rent the place with a year upfront if need be, but definitely feel I've dodged a bullet now. Horrible company. Avoid.

Wooster and Stock were awful estate agents!! Always turned up very late for appointments - leaving me waiting on the doorstep of a person's house, who then showed me round instead of the agent! I was also left waiting an extremely long time in a horrible room in their office each time they needed me to sign something. Terrible considering the fees they charge. They also charged a renewal fee to stay in the property, which at the time would usually have been charged to the landlord - but considering the landlord was the owner of the agent, I guess it was better for him to get the tenants to pay up.

Wooster and Stock are very poor. They have lost our banking details with signatures, made 2 incorrect invoices, incorrectly billed on 5 occasions in 18 months, overcharged above the direct debit signed and been made to write 2 written apologies to us.
They had to send a repair man 5 times in a month to fix a boiler and left an open gas pipe in the living room untapped - which could release gas into the room if stood on. Very bad service, terrible financial handling and unhelpful staff.

Wooster and Stock has been very helpful to me. They handled the paperwork quickly and very professionally. Thanks to Wooster and Stock, who found me a gorgeous flat, I am a happy London living woman now.
I would recommend people to use Wooster and Stock as their estate agency if you want a professional, friendly and good service.

They were profressional, supportive, hard working and always bent over backwards to help. Most importantly, they were always positive and "can do". I had a rough sale process, by no fault of their own but the team encouraged, supported and kept me smiling through to a final sale. In all my dealings with them communication was poor, with customer service which bordered on rude.
