I called up to enquire with regard to viewing a property that had recently come onto the market. The telephone interview started and I was advised that my details were already on the system as I had been a tenant about 3 years ago. I was then advised that to rent the £785 a month property, I need to be earning over £25,000. Not a problem, I earn over £36,000. I was then asked about my credit history and I replied that I had 4 years of an IVA left to run. I was very abruptly told that I wouldn't be accepted as a tenant by them. I was very surprised to stumble across this website and see some of these negative reviews as I was considering using Ushers to let out my property. Michael Usher pointed out to me that tenants who I would not want to rent my property (if they had defaulted on payments in the past, or even been taken to court by a previous landlord to get the rent!) were likely to be abusive on sites like this as his company would keep them away from my flat.
I've since let my property through Ushers to a fantastic tenant and am very grateful for their, and especially Michael's, help.

My experience in dealing with MR Usher himeself leads me to leave this negative review. Mr Usher is a pathetic, rude, obnoxious little man. His business ethics are completely wild, he is a liar and will trick you for a small profit. His reputation in the industry preceeds him as a theif and i advise noone does buisness with this company. I dont normally say things like this but i hope his business fails and his horrid attitude disappears along with his shrivelled ego.
Even from this reply to a disatisfied customer his arrogant manipulation is shining through. Im not sure what has made his such an appauling person however it effects the way he deals with his clients. It seem that we are not alone in being appauled at the bad service received. If you knew who he does buisness you will find it much less painfull to use one of his local competitors.

I liked one of their properties to let and they collected all information when I contacted them at first time. I also informed the agency in the beginning I have a child (3 days before the viewing). But after viewing the property, they suddenly informed me, they cannot offer the property as the landlord doesn't allow children. And I lost two other properties in the meantime which I liked. Now I need to find time to search the property during my work. In my opinion, their service is poor, time wasting, and also I feel their fee is much higher compared to other known high street agents. Stay away!!

Very bad customer handling.. The people this agent employs are very rude and has no courtesy towards people. They ask questions as if you are a suspected criminal and when you say no to a house they keep the telephone down right on your face.. They don't even deserve one star rating.. I will never use Ushers again.

They were more helpful than anybody else during the time of trying to buy. They helped us with lots of different concerns and even made calls on our behalf outside of the normal service, they were friendly and had a very professional approach.

I told the woman that I was allowed £900 a month in my IVA to rent somewhere to live, she said it didn't matter, I asked if I could put forward a guarantor and again she just said no. She became so very abrupt and didn't accept any middle ground. For gods sake, over half the country has adverse credit, 7 out of 10 people are paying their rent / mortgage on credit cards. I only want a small place of my own, I earn over £2,000 a month and they just turned me down. I've never not paid rent or mortgage in my life, I've spent over £3K putting in a new kitchen and bathroom of my current rental, the only reason I'm moving out is so that my sister's son can move in with her. I've worked full time for the same company for almost 13 years and I have everything anyone could possibly want, single female, non smoker and no pets. It's very frustrating.
