   Be warned - these agents are money fleecers. Make sure you demand furniture and fixings that are in very good order and have little chance of breaking before you sign your tenancy agreement, otherwise they will try to charge you for replacements. Also when they arrange veiwings they dont turn up and put young children in a vunerable position.

We strongly dispute the comments made. We have checked our records and have not received an internal complaint regarding this matter. Regarding the viewing where you feel young children were put in a ‘vulnerable position’, the Landlord agreed to accompany the tenants to the viewing and was then unable to attend. There was no obligation on your part to allow the tenants into the property if you did not feel comfortable doing so.    Disappointing service. Had a lot of trouble with this agency in two different properties. The first - issues with boiler, plumbing, electricity etc. Vacated early to another property - also let by taylor gibbs, under their advisement - and was charged an additional break clause fee which was never mentioned until after contracts had been signed. Nightmare dealing with contracts, the office only takes cash or transfer, they didn't have a card machine when I was dealing with them. Have been in the second property for two years and fortunately don't have to deal with the agency any more as my landlord handles pretty much everything himself - but I know that they're still pressuring my landlord against his wishes to increase the rent every year, way beyond RPI or any honest rate of inflation, in the hope that I'll vacate and they can get another tenant in and charge them more fees.. really disgraceful tactics. Blood thirsty people. No wonder we have a housing crisis with agents like these around.

The fee you are referring to is clearly outlined in the Tenancy Agreement which you are advised to read and take legal advice on before signing. Our Tenants Guide and confirmation documents detail what methods of payment we accept. We contact Landlords and Tenants prior to the expiry of the tenancy to establish whether they intend to renew the tenancy for a further term. At no point is pressure put on either party or a rent increase above RPI suggested. Our internal complaints department have not received a complaint from you or the Landlord and we would strongly recommend that you contact us directly in order that we can address the concerns you have raised more thoroughly and provide you with the necessary evidence.

   We bought and then many years later, sold our Highgate flat through Taylor Gibbs. They know the area and the block well, which helps provide background and additional information to prospective buyers. Whilst we didn't expect much difficulty in selling in this particular location (and we were chain free), we were pleased to have found a buyer and the transaction completed quickly and over the difficult Christmas period.

   Charlotte provided an accurate valuation and Mark kept us informed and was proactive throughout. They are an effective team and know this niche market.

   I have been renting properties over the last 10 years and have never been so impressed with an agency as I have been with Taylor Gibbs. The ladies in their Property Management Department make an oustanding effort to provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and service. They answer the phone quickley & seem to remember you. Whenever I pop into their offices there is always someone available to help me.

   We rented the flat in July and since the very beginning we had only the best experience. Miles was very professional,helpful and responsive. Whenever he was busy and not able to assist directly there was always someone else to help out. There were four of us so we needed more than one viewing which wasn't problem at all. I have recommended agency to my friends and would recommend their services to anyone.

    My wife and I purchased a house through Mark. There was considerable interest in the property from other buyers and we found Mark to be open and transparent in the dealings that we had over the purchase price. He was always very repsonsive to emails and telephone messages and made himself available for viewings often at somewhat unconvinient times. Even after securing the deal he tracked the process right through to completion and showed a genuine interest in how things were going (other than the obvious requirement to complete the sale) even after completion.

    I have bought ,sold and rented using TG over the last 13 years. Glen, Zia brother and sister owners are wonderful.Glen has organised mortgages for me. Mark and Charlotte have always done their best to gain the best prices for me . This last sale and purchase was a nightmare because of slow solicitors and lazy lawyers and Mark was so positive and encouraging.It was only because of him that I continued to be patient. A star estate agents.

    Taylor Gibbs were horrendous from the moment we started using them. They allowed us to look around a property that someone else had already signed for and on whom they were waiting for the deposit to be transferred later that day. the person who showed us round told us what offer the otehr person had made to suggest if we went in higher that we would be given the property - which i believe is illegal - immoral at best. as we were signining the paperwork the other perosn was on the phone transferring funds and i think its only luck that we were in the office and they didnt want to deal with... (read more)

    The typical 'yeah we'll get it done' attitude from an estate agent, only for them to completely forget about our request. Zero transparency too. They told us that if we moved out on or after our 8 month break clause that there would be no penalty, so that is what we did. They then emailed us to say that we were being charged approximately £500 from our deposit as a penalty for moving out early. Apparently this cost is covered in a tiny and incomprehensible clause in the contract and is to cover the landlords costs to re-let the flat. Why not ask us if we can find people to take on the contract until it ends though? Also, they tried to deduct as much as possible from our deposit for everything they could think of and blamed us for condensation on the bathroom walls, even though we had previously complained about the lack of an extractor fan causing too much steam to build up after showers. They are a small agency but unfortunately it shows with a lack of thought and a distinctly deceptive nature. AVOID!

The Tenants were not advised there would be no penalty if they vacated prior to the expiry of the tenancy. The clauses in the Tenancy Agreement are all in the same size font. The cost has no relation to the re-letting of the flat. In order for replacement Tenants to take over an existing tenancy an original Tenant would have to continue living at the property and be named on the Tenancy Agreement. The Tenants were not blamed for condensation on the bathroom walls and no deductions were made from the deposit in relation to same. Tenants are sent a Tenants Vacation Check-List prior to vacation which details the condition the property should be left in. Tenants are also advised to refer to the Inventory that is conducted at the commencement of the Tenancy. Deposits are protected in a Tenancy Deposit Scheme and no deductions can be made from the deposit without the Tenants agreement.

    After I had heard some great things about Taylor Gibbs I thought i\'d give them a go in renting out my flat in Highgate. Charlotte Bourne who handles rentals was completely on the ball. Not only did she find some fantastic tenants by the end of the week, she also made it easy for me and arranged all the necessities like the inventory check, the gas certificate etc. So I have been using the Highgate office for a number of years now with renting out my other properties and I haven\'t had any trouble. They are efficient and really take care of their tenants and landlords. I respect her honesty and her attention to detail. I highly recommend them.

    Appauling service. A furnished flat was promised and not provided (only very bad quality beds that are of such poor quality that you can feel every springs). Repairs were promised which we are still chasing months down the line. Those repairs that WERE carried out they attempted to charge us for (despite being for problems that were in existence when we moved in!). The staff cannot be trusted, they will tell you one thing on the phone and then later deny everything. They have on several occasions entered our property whilst we were out, giving us only minutes notice, and for no good reason. AVOID this agents at all cost.

    Taylor Gibbs appear to be an honest, fair agency but they are pretty good at laying the shine on. Promises made before contract have been completely broken (for example, the agent I spoke to said they could be contacted personally at any time - as soon as the contract was signed I was handed over to yet another agency for any problems) and they attempt to extract money at every occasion. When any problems with the property are raised, the first thing TG try to do is make the tenant pay, in spite of notes on the inventory.

    I am disappointed in this company as they appeared to be a small local business but either they've had a very bad experience with tenants before and hence assume all tenants have criminal intent or they just come from a money grubbing point of view and are good at hiding it, at least until you've signed on the dotted line.

    Although it seems harsh to criticise an estate agent for being an estate agent, these guys give you the impression that they are more honest that others when in fact, they are a bit worse.

Be very careful, the Taylor Gibbs agents seem to have a skill in making you think they can be trusted. They can not, as soon as you have been hooked the costs and the truth become evident.
