Me and my mother are very impressed with the service we received from Tracey Ramsey from Spencers Property Woodford Green branch, she was extremely helpful with every stage of the letting process and gave us a lot of useful information about the properly and paperwork we needed and returned all phone calls she was great, i will always recommend Spencers Property for their services because of Tracey Ramsey.

I was urgently looking for a property when ended up contacting Spencers. Richa Dabycharun from Spencer was very helpful in understanding my needs and was transparent in her dealings. She offered me correct advise and went an extra mile to adjust the dates of paperwork inspite of being very busy. Overall my experience has been Excellent with Spencers and I look forward to a great relationship during my tenancy period.

Sean found a tenant for my property even before completion. The rent was good for a studio flat. When the tenant moved out, he managed to find another tenant quickly, hence reducing the down time. Overall, we are satisfied with the service provided by Sean and his team.

i cannot praise sean hewitt and sam hall enough. i am a landlord and my property is in london but i do not live near london anymore. sean organised everything for me and all i had to do was pay.
this was a tremendous help as it saved me numerous visits back and forth to organise things.
sean organised gas and electric certs, epc cert, he even got new carpets laid and purchased furniture for me.
also the property was let within 1 week of being available.
any problems were sorted out quickly and efficiently and my phone call were always dealt with and if sean was unavailble then i would speak to sam who would pass on my messages or if they were both out i would always get a phone call on their return.
i would recommend their services to anyone in the area who is letting out a property and would like to say a big thanks you to sean and sam for all their help.Was this review helpful? Yes

This was my first time as a tenant and wasn't sure how everything worked, but i was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and the management process that Tracey supplied for me - everything was in place quickly and i managed to move in quicker than I anticipated. Spencer as a letting agency is fast and efficient and I would defiantly use them again.

New to the property game I was very pleased with the level of service received by Marc Mcilveney, Mark Siviell and Amy Calvart at Spencer’s Leyton Branch. The aim was to approach 3 estate agents in the area in order to find a suitable tenant for my property. After speaking to Mark Mcilveney (Manager) there was really no need to go anywhere else. Mark demonstrates true professionalism, he is knowledgeable, supportive and most of all very honest. These qualities are noticeable with all staff at the Leyton branch; they all exercise a constructive business ethos.

As a first time landlord I was quite dubious about renting my home to a tenant. The plan was to contact 3 estate agencies in order to make a formed decision. Spencers Property – Leyton Branch was the first agency and the last that I approached. I can honestly say I’ve found the whole process was made so much easier by dealing with people who are professional, honest, friendly and very helpful. Mark Mcllveney was particularly patient and supportive throughout this process, he provides and honest and proactive approach demonstrating knowledge and practical advice that gave me confidence to place my property with the Leyton team. I was kept up to date at all times and I found that the ethics of the whole team was helpful, professional and proactive. I would choose them again and would recommend to anyone who wants a high level of professionalism with a friendly approach. Therefore I would just like to say thank you to Mark, Mark and Amy.

I am writing this with nothing but praise for the staff at the Woodford Green branch.
My main point of contact was Tracey Ramsey, she is lovely so kind, helpful, friendly and professional, always ready to answer any questions and give advise if needed. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for property.
Richard Kelly went through my Tenancy and all paperwork with me on the day I collected the keys, he explained everything properly and answered any questions I had without making me feel rushed at all.
I would not hesitate to use Spencers again in the future if the need arises.

I could not be more grateful to Jay Williams for the way he has dealt with our sale. I have had dealings with other Estate Agents in recent years and felt more than a little trepidation at having to repeat the experience when selling my mother's home after she passed away last year. However I need not have worried as Jay has been absolutely wonderful in his handling of the sale. He has been professional, yet thoughtful and understanding throughout. He has updated me regularly and has liased with the solicitors on my behalf, taking much of the anxiety out of the process for me. I most certainly have never experienced service like this during any of my three house moves and am sad that not all Estate Agents are as customer friendly as Spencers.
Other members of staff at Woodford have been very polite and helpful at all times and I would highly recommend Spencers to anyone.Was this review helpful? Yes

I have been very impressed with the Spencers Leyton office. The renting process was dealt with smoothly and with great ease.
Mark Sivell was professional, friendly and kept me informed at all times. As a previous reviewer has said, he was very honest and I felt like he had my best interests at heart when arranging viewings. He was not, like some agents can be, pushy and did not give me the hard sell at all - allowing me to make my own mind up, which was a refreshing experience.
Amy Calvert, who dealt with the administration side, was also professional and friendly with quick responses to my questions and queries.
I would highly recommend Spencers - they have been one of the best estate agents in London I have used.

Spencers helped me to sell my late mothers house. All was going well, haveing secured a buyer in December 2011, until 8/1/2012 when eastern European squatters broke into the property. they were finally removed on the 22/2/12. The property was sold on the 22/3/2012. During this time they were extremely supportive, especially Sam, and ensured that I retained my buyer.

I have rented a property via Spencer’s; Ben Britton was my main contact and Rashad Cheema was my second. Both gentlemen were very friendly and have been great in terms of providing me with the right information. Ben has been very helpful and provided excellent customer service. He kept me up to date on the property I was going to move into as the property was going through refurbishment. The move took longer than expected. However, the wait was worthwhile, as the property I have moved into is in good condition. I will recommend spencer’s in forest gate for renting purpose to anyone.

I moved into London a couple of months ago & was looking for an apartment to move in within 2 weeks, I went to Spencersoffice in Ilford & specified my detailed requirement to Russell Beckett, he understood my requirement well & showed me almost an exact apartment I was looking for & at the right time!!!
My interactions with Russell Beckett has been smooth & quite professional. He also went a little out of the way to help me find a nice apartment which I liked the most. I had been to many letting agencies before approaching Spencers, but I shall recommend Spencer's letting to my friends as the agents have given me the right picture about the property, quite helpful & always approachable. I have already shared Russell's office number to one of my friend who is also looking for an apartment. Cheers!

I have used spencers quite a few times in the past, to rent out my properties. The agent Tracey in Lettings is a 'marvel', polite, exceptional with tenants and landlords/landladys, never having to go back on her word. She is a credit to her company. I have recommended her to several of my friends and work collegues, who I know have used her to rent out their properties, with ease.

I have used Spencers to let my property for the last 5 years. I have always found them to be helpful, hard working and professional in all their dealings. They look after their clients and seek to foster a long term relationship as opposed to just securing a one off deal. In particular Sean Hewitt has been very helpful in recently guiding us through a tricky eviction process via the excellent Homelet rent guarantee scheme they run. Sam Hall also deserves praise for his friendly and professional manner. The feedback from my tenants is also that the agents from Spencers stand out from the many other local firms. A thoroughly good branch which I am happy to recommend.

I found my property through Spencers Leyton branch and found them very helpful from the offset. Mark Sivell who we viewed the property with was polite and helpful without pressurising. He kindly picked us up when we were running late for our appointment and dropped us off afterwards.
I felt he had our best interests at heart when viewing the property and therefore made me feel more at ease to think about the decision and what was right for us. All the communication once we had decided to take the property was clear and consise.Both myself and housemate are very busy in our jobs and felt that they were adjustable and provided as much information to make it easy for us to complete paperwork,bond etc

I was happy with the friendly service I received from Ilford Spencers. Russel was professional & willing to go the extra mile to show me the property I ended up taking and drop me off to my viewing (even if it was from another agengy). The whole process was turned around very quickly and I moved in 5 days after viewing the flat! The only downside was the poor communication re my credit check and the actual moving in date. I found out the date only a day before moving in and had to phone myself to receive the information.

I found Mark very professional and honest. He was able to answer all our questions at the viewing and didn’t want to push us into taking the property (which some agents tend to do). I think he’s got a great understanding of the market and what tenants look for. Dealing with the agency was very smooth and the entire Spencers team was very supportive throughout the process. Amy was also brilliant in sorting out the paperwork in a timely and efficient manner.

Mark was very supportive throughout the whole process of our finding the right property. He showed it to my husband first and then was available to show it to myself as well. We also managed to arrange a second viewing and Mark was well prepared with a tape measure in order to be able to assist us. :)
Aimee immediately made a phone call straight to the landlord if we had any questions. She is really efficient in her work as an assistant.

I have let my property through Spencers for about ten years and have continued to be loyal to them because of Tracey. we were very nervous about letting our family home as we were new to letting. I was very impressed with Russell who first visited the property and on meeting him and listening to his advice - I felt confident to go with Spencers over a rival agent and decided on using Spencer's as sole agents for the property. The rest was handled by Alex who handled everything in a thorough professional manner and was extremely helpful. Alex handled all my queries efficiently and put everything into action very quickly. I was suprised at how quick- the property was let within a few days of meeting them. Both Russell and Alex have excellent customer service skills. They are very courteous, well mannered pleasant gentlemen. I would highly recommend them personally. They made an anxious event go very smoothly.

I have dealt with Spencers Property Services since the Company started up - approximately 20 years ago. They have always found reasonable tenants for my properties over the years.
I now deal with Marc McIlveney at the Leyton branch and have found him to be very professional, reliable and informative on all matters concerning all my properties which he has let for me in the last few years.
Also, if I have any problems with tenants, Marc will do his utmost to deal with the situation until it is resolved.
I find Marc friendly and approachable.
I am happy to carrying on dealing with Spencer's Property Services for the forseeable future.Thank you.

Russell and richa were helpful in the painful process of finding a new flat to live in. Russell accompanied me to view the house when the current tenant was not cooperative. This helped me to decide about the house quickly. Richa was helpful with the contract and was very patient with me whilst I suggested changes to the document. My family and I have moved into the house recently; and I hope they continue to provide high levels of service during our tenancy. Would recommend Spencers , from my experience , we found them to be very efficient and reliable . They didn't attempt to give us the usual property in the market (Which are simply present in the market because no one's ready for it .), but simply listened to what we wanted and gave several options for ensuring we received great value. I have used Spencers Property Services for almost four years now, to find tenants and manage the tenancy for me. I have always found the staff in their office and at Glenmead, the organisation who manages the day-to-day tenancy management, helpful, polite and responsive. Whenever I have a problem or query it is dealt with quickly and efficiently. The first tenants they found for me stayed for almost four years and were reliable and they have just found a second set of tenants for me who will hopefully be as good. The service is not the cheapest but after a disastrous first year of letting my flat via another, cheaper agency, they are worth the extra money, to ensure reliability and most of all peace of mind.

Very proactive team- lots of calls and emails to arrange potential tenants to view the flat. Craig was very professional, straight talking but also had a great personality. Towards the end I did have to ask for a breakdown of all the fees which wasn't sent me. Generally the team was good and found me a tenant very quickly.

I was introduced to Alex Sheeley from Spencer Property by a friend and client who already had dealings with the company. All my tenants have come from blue chip companies and the service I get is second to none. They offer a solid trustworthy, no hidden agenda service. I was informed by christine (head of maintenance) that the boiler was not working, they supplied estimate (not inflated) from a reputable technician and repaired in 48hrs. Irene Collins head of accounts is on the ball also with regard to issues I had with a water bill which was for a past tenant, she managed to have it paid by them. They treat you the way you would like to be treated and and that is why I would use them time and time again!! 100% confidence and they are now selling properties for me..........the only way is Spencer's!!

Very good service I was happy with the way the property viewings were carried out which lead me into being intereted
In one of the properties as the property was very well shown and explained. After I chose the property I attended the office to place an deposit on it , very good atmosphere of the office and was dealt with professional and with alot of kindness. I was very pleased with the way I was explained the procudure and how the estate agent dealt with handling my paper and ensuring that I met the landlords requirements .! Member of staff called Russell carried our the viewing and done excellent in giving accurate information about the property and helping us get all our papers together and ready to submit and risha done well in ensuring that I was happy and there was no misunderstanding between us and the landlord . We found Spencers to be very efficient whilst finding a new property to rent. Russell was extremely helpful and found us somewhere almost immediately. 'Spencers Property Services ' is, in my experience, an excellent letting agency. I have always found the staff to be totally trustworthy and matters are dealt with in a very professional manner. The worst Agents EVER! The list of problems is long and completely unforgiving!
The problems started before we even moved in.....upon viewing we had requested that a shower tap be installed with a bracket to hold it before we signed a contract, this was written in the contract. The day we moved in, we still had the rubber shower attachment your Nanna had from the 80's. After ringing and pointing out that the updated tap had been agreed, I spoke to A who proceeded to tell me that the rubber attachment was new and that is what we had agreed. I cussed him out so badly that they quickly changed it. The kitchen ceiling was always leaking when someone used the bath/shower. The bathroom sink was constantly blocked even though a supposed plumber came round ever 2 months, but still did not manage to fix it, and then on top of it the landlord took 3 months to return out deposit, despite us leaving the property in a good clean condition.I would never use these agents again

In my dealings with Spencers i have found them very professional and on the ball. I have mainly dealt with Sean Hewitt who I felt gave an excellent service when I needed to let my property. He found me fantastic tenants in a couple of weeks and secured me a rental value above my expectations. Even after the deal went through I would ring Sean to ask advice regarding other matters and found he was always ready to answer any questions I had. I am now going to be selling my property and felt no hesitation in appointing Spencers to act as sole agents on my behalf. I would most definitely recommend them to anyone in the future.

The agent that dealt with my property was Rashad Cheema. I cannot praise his patience, understanding and negociating skills enough! He took time out of his own days off to dealt with my tenants, which were proving to be annoyingly unreasonable and demanding for both Landlord and Agent alike.
The tenants were demanding, more furniture, new carpets (because their feet were getting cold when walking barefoot!), the removal of existing furniture and noisy floorboards. Rashad, very patiently, expalined to them, a number of times, the basis on which the rental was agreed... the patience of a saint!!
Both he and Pauline Howes(Maintenance Dept) dealt with the outstanding rental problems, which started at the very outset of the tenancy. And through all this, they maintained a friendly and professional manner. I could not have managed without them.
They come HIGHLY COMMENDED.

I was recommended to contact Spencers as I knew they looked after other rentals in this development and as a new landlord I have found the process very easy, Great communication from Sean Hewitt at every stage of the process, with replies to e-mails and requests dealt with promptly. I am extremely happy with the service I received from Spencers Property Services. I dealt with Alex Sheeley who was very helpful and within a couple of days three prospective tenants had viewed my property; it was rented within a week to tenants who had been checked and verified. The service I received from the agent (Rashid Cheema/0 was first class and very professional. in fact I had some issues with the tennat when they first moved in and rashid smoothed over everything and ensured the transition to Glenmead was as seemless as possible. 3 months on Rashid still calls me out of courtesy to see if all is still well.

Ben Britton was very helpful in securing a property. He is very honest about the property and flexible to arrange viewings around our busy schedules. Having contacted several agents in ilford over the past few weeks, I found spencers properties at Cranbrook Road, & met there with Mr,Alex. The service I received from spencer's staff was excelent.They didn't attempt to give us the normal agent patter, but simply listened to what I wanted and gave several options for ensuring I received great value.
When it came to completing the documents, They were well laid out and clear. They genuinely wanted to ensure that I was happy with everything. So by this time, With the services I received from Spencers are very satisfatory. I will keep posting my feedbacks for future services from spencers..
I guess i'm trying to say i would recommend Spencers to anyone.

Extremely happy with Spencers Woodford Green office, I would highly recommend them and i will be using them to sell my property in the future. I had my property on the market for sale 4 weeks before I went to Spencers in Woodford, and only wish that they were my first point of call when I decided to sell my house.
They were a breath of fresh of air after my previous agent and would recommend them to anyone who is serious about selling their property. They were honest with the valuation and were able to back it up with evidence, and kept me updated on all viewings with the feedback (good or bad); and as a result I happily accepted a good offer within 10 days of their marketing. After a bad experience letting my property through another estate agent on Hoe Street I have been very impressed with Spencers. After inviting a number of estate agents to let the property I chose Spencers because they were completely different to the stereotyped estate agents which line Hoe Street. They are honest, polite, professional, always answer your calls and will go the extra mile to help make life easier for you. I cannot speak for other branches of Spencers but would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Spencers on Hoe Street to anyone wishing to let their property in Walthamstow - Oh an they also managed to get great tenants who take care of the place and pay their rent every month on time!

Had my prop on with a couple of the 'select' local agents and they couldn't have been more different. One felt a bit tired and i was left wondering whether they were marketing or not and the other was constantly updating me with any offers they had received etc. which was Spencers. I first delt with Tracey at the Woodford the office who was a breath of fresh air being very proactive in helping me find a suitable property. I recently moved in the Walthamstow area.
I selected Spencers as my letting agency, and I am really happy I have made this choice.
They have been extremely patient and always responded to my requests with an efficient manner.
Everything went well since I met them the first time when I was looking for a one bedroom flat,
I recall calling them on a Monday and on the next day they organised me a viewing.
After that everything went to plan ,I paid the deposit signed the contract etc.. they made the all process simple.

Paid a holding deposit then it took 4 weeks for spencers to finally produce a contract which turned out to be a 12 month rather than 6 month contract, however at that point it was far too late to get it fixed effectively tying me into the 12 months.
Contract is almost entirely composed of terms that the office of fair trading have used as exampled of unfair contract terms, including a one sided break clause for the landlord.
As far as the property is concerned any problems are ignored repeated calls and letters get promises of action but nothing happens, to the point where we are now contacting the councils enviromental health department to fix issues with a leaking soil pipe that spencers/glenmead have determined is not a problem.Was this review helpful? I would NOT under any circumstances recommend these agents in Bethnal Green. I will not bore you with the issues I have, as we will be here all day. The branch manager is very relaxed, doesn't want to help anybody. He is rude, doesn't return calls and hides behind his staff members whenever a problem arises. Very appalling service especially for us landlords that have to pay them commission to sit behind a desk and hide behind a phone.

When putting my flat on the market, I arranged for Spencers to come & do a valuation (along with some other local agents). They did not turn up at the agreed time & never called to apologise or reschedule. Needless to say I did not market my flat through them.

With any agent, different people work in different branches, so there may always be some variation in standards of professionalism.
Walked in there and spoke to a well-built but rather dismissive guy. Said he would take down my details and call me "if something comes up". That must be the most overused cheesy one-liner in any letting agent's bag of catchphrases.

Expensive and incompetent, basic errors in contracts (like spelling names correctly and filling in all the details). Post signing they seem unable to manage repairs minor or otherwise. One to avoid the worst service I've ever had.

Epic fail. Fees are astronomical. Had so much trouble with the agents, some of my housemates were from Europe (ie, not English as first language), and did not understand all the terms, when we asked, the agents treated us like scum. When the contract ran out after 12 months, and we asked to have 2 new people on the new contract when others moved out, they acted as if it was a massive inconvenience to them.
We also requested to speak to the landlady, as we wanted to paint some of the flaking walls, after about 5 premium number phone calls going in circles with Glenmead , we were told that they cannot give her number out, but were not willing to contact her on our behalf.
Then by chance, the neighbours gave us the landlady's number anyway, and we dealt with her directly, and she was more than willing to pay for paint if we painted the walls ourselves.
They also left a massive 'For Rent' sign in our front yard and my one house mate was verbally told we were not allowed to remove it as it was their property, and removing it would be destruction of their property.

They get you and the tenant to sign an agreement for a year, get the landlord to pay up front for the fees, then surprise surprise, after 6 months, the tennent wants to move out, it appares that this was the tennants intention in the 1st place and spencers are aware that the tennent only wants 6 months but purposely fail to pass that information to the landlord. they say if you stick with them then you can transfere that money onto the new agreement. they were doing this nonsense to me for years then i just left. they also tell... There fees are very big for a start. They're very nice in the first instance, but once I signed the contract they became the most useless bunch of timewasters I've ever come accross. The main issue I had is the repair company which trades under the name glenmead. They pretty much refuse to fix anything thats not a white good. eg, Fridge, cooker etc. They say they'll do it and nothing ever happens.

I looked round the property (whilst the tenant sat in his pants eating breakfast) - which is a dump and totally overpriced.
Seems like Spencers are mostly happy to sit in their office and answer the phone, then wait for their commission. , and did not understand all the terms, when we asked, the agents treated us like scum. When the contract ran out after 12 months, and we asked to have 2 new people on the new contract when others moved out, they acted as if it was a massive inconvenience to them.
We also requested to speak to the landlady, as we wanted to paint some of the flaking walls, after about 5 premium number phone calls going in circles with Glenmead , we were told that they cannot give her number out, but were not willing to contact her on our behalf.
Then by chance, the neighbours gave us the landlady's number anyway, and we dealt with her directly, and she was more than willing to pay for paint if we painted the walls ourselves.
