I was helping my friend to rent a property back in december 2009, dealt with a number of crooks in sheldon bishop namely, Paulo, Paul Marks, Archie. Once we viewed the property, Paulo, the salesman told us that there was a admin fee, when my mate was discouraged by this, he called the following day and said that he was going to waiver the fee should she wish to put an offer. after a number of negotiations, and meeting with the so called director and manager my friend put down a holding deposit. I took a two bedroom flat in Stoke Newington from these guys recently and I must admit that I had no problems with them at all. They were clear and precise about all aspects of my application and when I moved in the flat, it was clean and ready.

Sheldon Bishop were shambolic from start to finish. A list of improvements that we asked for before we moved in was ignored, and when we did move in not only was the inventory missing but food, clothes and a full bin had been left by the previous tenants (despite promises of a professional clean). The toilet was broken and some of the windows didn't open, all of this was promised to be done for when we moved in.
To be absolutely clear, Sheldon Bishop are abysmal. Anyone considering using them should beware of appalling reply times to e-mail and voicemails, incompetent management and rude customer service.

I am moving out of my apartment managed by Sheldon Bishop and need a reference letter. I have been calling and emailing consistently for 4 days and no one gets back to me. I have now lost the flat I had a holding on due to Sheldon Bishop!

Sheldon Bishop do not satisfy their obligations as estate agents while negotiating on behalf of prospective tenants. They are happy to show other people around a property that is under offer and in my case they were either acting dishonestly or incompetently. Either way they lacked communication skills and wasted my time.

The service was awful. The appliances in the flat were in a terrible state and every time this was mentioned to Sheldon it was effectively ignored for as long as possible. Our oven remained broken for 4 weeks of badgering before it was fixed.
They were always rude and at one point even the manager swore at me and hung up the phone.
The problems didn't stop after we left as they made getting the damage deposit back very difficult and eventually took money off us for a washing machine that was in the same state as when we arrived.
I would seriously advise anyone not to use them, either tenant or landlord.

I recently used Sheldon Bishopafter a friend of mine recommended them to me. They found me and my girlfriend our perfect flat in Stoke Newington and were very helpful throughout my dealings with them.

Sheldon Bishop acted as a finding agent for a company called Gilbert Estates to find tennants for a property in Highgate, North London.
They fulfilled none of their remit in making sure that the property was in a habitable state. They were only concerned with processing payment and getting their cut.
When we moved in the property was in woeful condition, dirty, mouldy, and with broken funiture left by previous tennants. Subsequent flooding due to poor drainage forced us to permanantly vacate the property.
Sheldon Bishop were very negligent in their duties, but ultimately were at least honest in their dealings with us.
However, they have no business in the rentals industry in my opinion.
