very dissapointed with the lack of response from email contacts regarding 2 properties i was trying to arrange a viewing for.
This agent along with many others now extensively use the internet for advertising so you would think that an enquiry via email would be dealt with promptly and profesionally! Wrong! They took over 3 days to respond to an initial enquiry stating the email went into spam and then failed to respond at all to the reply attempting to arrange a viewing. A follow up phone call didnt help the situation in that the sales advisor claimed no email was received and on the whole didnt instil confidence. Would i buy or sell through samuel estate agents?. A resounding NO and would advise anybody using the Exeter branch to telephone and NOT email and certainly obtain the name of the agent they are speaking with.Was this review helpful? Yes

The team at Samuels have been by far the most impressive, thorough and friendly agents I have ever dealt with, as a tenant in London for nearly 10 years in various locations.
Not only did they help me identify an area that met my criteria, they then contacted landlords in the area who they knew had properties - rather than just showing me available properties on their books. This helped me find the ideal property, which otherwise would not have been adverised as available!
Since then they have consistently gone above and beyond the normal call of duty, always providing a fast and excellent service when supplying handymen, building repairs etc and helping me liaise with my landlord.
Frik, Paul, Nick and Phil are always extremely friendly and understanding, and I can't speak highly enough of their services.Was this review helpful? Yes

Scott Kelly and his team provide an excellent service within the area they serve. I would recommend them whole heartedly over any of the other local estate agents. Having lost all my faith in estate agents last year (most due to the poor service of the larger firms in Streatham and Balham), I came across a property with Samuel Estates. From offer to completion Scott and his team delivered an outstanding service which was greatly appreciated. Communication was excellent and the friendly nature of the staff makes an immense difference. I couldn't recommend Samuel Estates enough.

I have a couple of properties that I have let through Samuel Estates and I am very happy with the results so far. I would recommend Mark Bainbridge for lettings as he has a professional, sensible, grounded and well researched approach which helped me in my considerations. Frik Buitendag and his team are also efficient and responsive to the tenants and my queries / requests. All round, they are probably one of the best estate agents I have met / considered using. (I've met quite a few!)
For an overseas landlord this enables me to have complete peace of mind and agents whom I can trust to manage my properties well. Great job, guys keep the good work going!

Had problem with boiler noticed evening before ,morning after made agent aware and had contractors on site within 10mim! Beat that . Always helpful and friendly .

We have been looking for a while a nice place to leave, also that's was first experience with agancy property as before we have been renting from the private owner directly and so far so good. We came across really good, friendly service. We found our home and hopefully that will stay for a while. I would highly recommended this agancy to everyone who wants to deal with nice and professional people and I know something about it as for the last month I've met them all, well almost and Samuel gave me the trust I was looking for. Thank you guys :)

My washing machine died on the wednesday morning. I informed the agent on the wednesday evening. It was examined on the thursday afternoon and replced on the Friday morning - very quick, helpful service.

We have been letting with the team at Samuel Estates for 2 and a half years now and it's been an absolute pleasure working with them. Our initial interaction was easy and they were really helpful in finding us the apartment my wife and I were looking for. Our move was easy thanks to them. Since then we have had one or two little faults including our washing machine packing up and the flushing pin on our toilet breaking ... Samuel Estate were on hand immediately both times and their team kept us up to date with the entire process of getting the toilet fixed and the washer replaced. We are greeted by name every time we bump into each other and our relationship feels as if it has become closer than just and agent / tenant situation. We would highly recommend them to anyone in future and will definitely be using them as long as we can.

We have just let a flat managed by a private landlord through Samuel Estates. I cannot praise this agent highly enough. Their approach is personal and sincere, with no pressurising or faux "panic" pushed onto us (as we had with other estate agents). Every step of the process was clear, friendly, timely, and organised. We dealt with five different staff, from both offices, all of whom were lovely and helpful. Samuel Estates went far beyond the call of duty to assist in this process which can be so massively stressful -- we had no stress with this agent! As a tenant, one often feels like the agent is not worried about you or your needs, because you are not their "client". At Samuel Estates we always felt that they cared about helping us. We would use them again without any question, and would recommend them to everyone without hesitation. The best estate agent experience we have ever had in London!!!!

I don't usually write online reviews however I really must applaud the service I have had over the last 6 years with Samuel Estates.
I first encountered Nick Samuel when I purchased a property in Abbey Mills, he was in the process of opening his first office in London and became a champion of the residents at Abbey Mills as he went out of his way to support the residents group. He made himself available to call upon when things went wrong in the buildings even if he was not your own letting agent.

Unfortunately 5 stars don't do Samuel Estates justice. These guys are the real deal. Having lived in London for 13 years I’ve had my fair share of dealings with agents, who are uncaring, some shady and riddled with hidden costs, and seem to be out only to make a quick sell (cue Foxtons). The ladies and gentlemen at Samuel Estates are on the other side of the scale, the cream of the crop.

We recently rented an apartment through Samuel Estates, and the whole experience has been really nice. They have been very professional, attentive, efficient - the works. Frik has been outstanding all through, and Phil was very efficient in getting the paperwork done in very timely fashion. This has been our best experience of renting in London by far.

I have nothing but praise for Samuel Estates and they are a rarity in the world of estate agents. Throughout the whole letting process, they’ve been friendly, helpful and extremely efficient. And that goes for every one of the team I’ve dealt with. I’ve been living abroad and was nervous about leaving my home in the hands of an estate agent, especially having heard so many agent horror stories. But I haven’t had to worry about a thing. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to anyone thinking of letting out their place.

Samuels Estates were brilliant every step of the way. As first time buyers we had no idea what to do and when. Mark was excellent all the way through and took away a lot of our stress and helped to push the sale through despite various time constraints. All the team were professional and polite and wanted to make the process as smooth and painless as possible. After living in London for over 8 years and dealing with numerous estate agents when renting, Samuel Estates offered a far superior service than expected and we would highly recommend them.

We were renting with Samuel Estates for almost 4 years, in two different buildings, and appreciated their level of service very much! Most problems were sorted out promptly and efficiently, with no repeat-issues, and where they couldn't help immediately, they tried their best to sort it out ASAP. I rented from these guys after having a terrible experience with Londons People in Bethnal Green. I found the property through gumtree and met Frik at the property. I moved in within 2 weeks of first seeing the property with a really smooth service. They paid for an extra set of keys as my sister was living there sometimes and also paid for the telephone line activation (

I have confidence in Samuels. Have used them for 3 years total now. They have worked hard to keep the tenants happy, sort out problems (eg broken radiator) quickly and were proactive during the property slump when it was quite tricky getting tenants.

I am problably one of the first customers they had and I am always happy with the service they provide I sold 3 flats with them and rented 2. I had many problems with the property water fload... And they gonne a extra mile to help and solve all the problems... My tennants is very happy... As they never had to contact-me. All the staff are friendly and they get the job done!

In my experience all the staff, including receptionists, are very friendly and helpful. My initial chat with Nick gave me the confidence to go ahead and use their services. Frik and Paul have proved to be not only competent but, just as importantly for me, extremely approachable. Being situated on the development is an additional bonus in my opinion. Having Samuels take care of my letting has taken away all the stress - they are on top of everything and I don't have to worry about what's needs doing because I know they are dealing with it. I highly recommend them.

Frik from Samuals was very helpful and always forthcoming in assuring me the best of their services. I am no longer in UK but almost 1.5 years with them in Croydon was worth having recommended 5 Star for Samuals. I would anytime recommend them for their servcies. Thanks

I found some of the staff very rude and pushy. Once I had handed in my notice they were extremly intrusive not only that but when I initially moved in the apartment was not as clean as expected. Some staff members were extremly pompus when I went to the office. However the English gentleman who worked there was extremly polite and helpful. My husband also found his dealings with them highly unhelpful as he was looking to buy an apartment within the area and they did not seem interested. I would say Samuel Estates are only interested in getting you in and cannot be bothered after.

Fantastic Agents! Friendly, Honest, Efficient, a really rarity in London Lettings! As a tenant everything was dealt with ease and any issues or problems with the property were dealt with on the same day.
If I didnt have to move north of the river I would definitely still be using them! A great service start to finish.

The team at Samuel Estates are exceptional. Having been a landlord with them for the past 5 years I have just purchased a second investment property and they have gone beyond the call of duty in helping with the process. All areas of management within the organisation have been enthusiastic and invaluable. No reason to go anywhere else.

The team at Samuel Estates is second to none in my opinion. In the past (as a tenant) I was frustrated by the deceit and lack of attention to detail paid by estate agents and so I approached the purchase of our first home with trepidation. Nic and his staff quickly put to rest all my concerns and swiftly handled our purchase in a professional manner. I can't recommend Samuel Estates more highly!
P.S. I have subsequently used their letting service for a short term let when our folks visited for the birth of our first baby and their letting service was just as efficient and effective.

I have always found them to be efficient and helpful and would use them again without a second's thought. They have been professional and friendly and very approachable so far throughout our tenancy and always transparent about any small print of the agreement.

Not all correspondence is answered promptly and directions to use certain email addresses are ignored. I do need to push them for responses from time to time. Generally though I find the service good.

I found Nick very helpful three years ago when first letting my property and the service since has been excellent. I think there was only a two week break in finding another tenant and they sort out any problems with speed and efficiency.

I am a landlord who has been working together with Samuel Estates for over 4 years now and cannot rate them highly enough. I have entrusted them with the full ownership and management of 9 properties. Samuel estates also recently managed the sale of one of my properties and I was delighted with the management of that also.
Exceptional customer service for both myself and my tenants, very trustworthy, very knowledgable in all aspects of property and tenancy laws, very flexible, always willing to help/answer questions no matter the time of day/evening/weekend, a very rare business model and staff based on honesty and integrity, ARLA regulated and approved members, have the tenacity and intelligence to deal with and resolve whatever issues may arise and finally, genuinely nice people.
Thoroughly delighted with Samuel estates and intend to work together with them for many years to come.

Nick Samuel and his team are terrific operators. Mark, who deals with lettings at Balham, works swiftly and efficiently to visit properties, arrange photography and fix viewings. If only all agents were as helpful and efficient.

After a series of blunders, I gave up on Samuel Estates last year. As a landlord, I found their service highly inefficient. Rent payments were late in reaching my account and I had to continually chase things up rather than them taking the initiative and contacting me. When one tenant left, they could not find a new tenant for a property in a highly desirable area. The new agent filled the flat within 2 days. I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone.

I have lived in the Bennet's Courtyard block, in which their office resides, since 2004. Samuel Estates managed my property whilst I was abroad for a few years. I am also on the Bennet's Courtyard Committee so I have dealings with Samuel Estates on a weekly basis.
I met Nick back in 2004 after purchasing my property in Bennet's Courtyard. He is a friendly character, with an enthusiastic, professional attitude, and an obvious strong work ethic.
Frik is a gem. No matter what the issue, he always has a smile on his face and he is quick to resolve any problems that may arise. He is the Stig of Samuel Estates.
Paul, aside from supporting the wrong rugby team, has been great over the years. The same can be said for everyone who works at Samuel Estates - all professional, proficient and skilled at what they do.
Connie, the Mother Hen of the pack, is another contributing quality to what is a well-oiled machine. She will always offer a smile and a chat, and is generally perched at the reception desk next to a nice bunch of flowers, with a fridge full of soda drinks and beers as a backdrop. Like I said, these guys know what they're doing.
Phil, whom I haven't known for long but I've dealt with frequently recently, seems to cut from the same cloth.
I can't recall an employee of Samuel Estates ever leaving, and I see these guys almost every day.
