   Robert alan is rude, obnoxious and a liar. In one conversation with the owner of this business i was threatened and sworn at several times. I agree with all the above comments. Quote from Robert Alan 'I'm a busy man, i have loads of other properties to deal with and yours isn't a priority'....In response to our heating breakdown in mid winter!

   I committed to rent a Flat for £240, they took my holding fee (2 weeks rent) and admin fee (£200) = £680

   On the day of viewing I asked about Parking, I was told that after I get my contract I can apply for a permit to park outside the building, time went on and I chased up all the documentation to ensure a speedy transaction as I really needed to get into the flat by July 1st 2011.

   I got my contract and upon calling the council I was told that I can\'t apply for a parking permit as the building is \'Car Free\' and the tenants aren\'t eligible for parking permits. As I... (read more)

   Extortionate "admin" fees prior to tenancy.

   During the tenancy, Robert Alan were completely unresponsive to calls asking them to fix the oven and awful mould in the flat. They didn't return my calls and didn't turn up when they said they would (despite me taking time off work to wait for the utility man).

   They then tried to send someone around without prior notice to let themselves into the flat to assess the situation. They couldn't work out how to open the door though.....

   For the final 2 months of the tenancy I had an oven that didn't work and health issues from the mould.

   I was ringing up every day to chase some action from the letting agent to remedy these problems. In the end, they were just rude and hung up on me.

   I would warn anyone against using Robert Alan letting agents.

   I can safely say that renting a property from Robert Alan is one of the biggest mistakes of my life. They refuse to fix anything, they ignore your calls.When you do get through they will make a promise to come round the fix/look at the problem then stand you up four times in a row - after you've taken time off work every time. They are time wasters, they are amateurs. Their fees are a con and they do not want to do their job. They left us without some basic amenities what broke and it took months of nagging for us to still not get them fixed. They are also rude and patronising. I loved my flat but I left after a year because I couldn't bare to be put up with them any more longer.
