I purchased through Fox & Sons. They wanted me to use their solicitor and mortgage broker. So did every other agent and every other solicitor and every other mortgage broker. I'd already made arrangements through my brother, an IFA. I had to speak to Fox & Sons consultant when I offered, turns out they had access to mortgage products that my brother didn't. I'd spoken to other agents and brokers in the town and Fox & Sons had an exclusive! The sales staff also told me about "vendor gifted deposits", no other agent had ever mentioned any incentive or scheme in which to help me as a buyer. I could comfortably afford a house that was initially out of my budget, and the seller was happy too! I used Fox & Sons for everything, but only at the last minute. Even before I chose to use them, the staff were helpful and professional.

Yes, they are sales people! They work on commission! They are targeted! Some are good, some are rubbish - which sales industry isn't. Can each person who has made a negative comment, honestly say that they or the company they work for has never had an unhappy customer or a complaint?

I work in management in a different sales industry and if I had a sales team like that of Fox & Sons - i'd be making a lot more money!

I've read comments about gazumping. Surely its the seller that makes that decision? Not the agent. If the agent doesnt advise the seller of all offers - they are breaking the law!
