Atkinson Mcleod

We have had 3 flats managed by Atkinson Mcleod for a number of years. Whilst the management has been poor for most of the time, our final straw, was when a tenant stopped paying rent and vacated the flat, Atkinson Mcleod failled to even inspect the flat( even though they were charging us for inspection, after the rent had been delayed for over 2 months, they only did so when we informed them that we would have a third part visit the flat to establish wether or not the tenant was living there.

A long saga continued during which time we lost 4 months rent as a result of their missmanagement. We gave notice that we were withdrawing our property from their management, they have failled to return to us the holding deposits and the last months rent that they collected from a tenant. They fail to answer their email or to return calls. They did however contact me to charge a leasing commission as an existing tenant had stayed in one of the properties and renewed a newly negotiated contract. Atkinson Mcleod did not provide the contract, did not negotiate the rent, nor had they dealt with the tenants maintainance problems - they do believe that we should pay them a renewal commission! We have asked that they respond to all outstandin issues first - we have now had to appoint a solicitor to deal with them.

Our recommendation - avoid Atkinson Mcleod at all costs!
