Dixons did a really excellent job from start to finish. They found a buyer within a week and, as the property was empty, the whole transaction was sorted within 2 months. Their staff were always helpful and there was good communication from them and their solicitors, who were extremely efficient. Many thanks for all your help, especially Andy and Dale.

Dixons is absolutely the number one estate agents and throughly worth their fees. I was always told you get what you pay for, and Dixons knew exactly what they were doing from day one. Aaron had already lined up block viewings from the first day, ...

Put my house on the market with this estate agent after falling for a very slick sales pitch. Rep did not mention that you could negotiate on the fee (have since found that this is possible to do). House then went on the market at £140...

What agent could do to change your mind?
The sales rep who initially comes out should have pointed out that there is room for negotiation on the fee - if a house price has to be dropped to gain a sale then Dixons should experience the same percentage drop as an incentive to get the seller the best price. The fact that the agency could not bother sending people out to any of the viewings yet still expect the same fee is also something that should be taken into consideration.

Comment on agent fees
Fees should be more negotiable and should reflect the final selling price as opposed to the initial selling price which the agent tends to pitch at too high a level in order to obtain the sellers business.

Happened to me in 1994 @Dixons. Went in offered £38,000 on a £42000. Bloke said he wasn't going to even offer it as it would be turned down. Bought house nearby- met new owner of house- bought for £36000 - I wasn't pleased ...
