We made an appointment to view a Wakefield property a week or so in advance. An appointment for 2.15 pm on Wednesday 21st October was made. We arrived at the scheduled time. Nobody showed so we telephoned the office. The lady with whom we spoke said you didn't reply to my text message of this morning so we assumed you wouldn't be there'. We explained that we had received no text and, in any event, were there for a planned appointment so thought it reasonable to expect someone to be there. The lady responded that if a viewer does not confirm by replying to the text message, then the appointment doesn't take place.
We asked for arrangements to be made for someone to come and meet with us. The lady said that there was nobody available to come. We explained again that we had not received a text message and she responded it was sent to the same mobile number as the one I'm now speaking to you on'. The so called text message arrived later that evening......5.00 pm. This was probably sent as she was leaving for the day!
So, Martin & Co. Wakefield, is, in my view, unprofessional and have a strange way of managing appointments. That was my experience as a viewer but I would not be happy if I was a client trying to sell with this organisation.
What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could have a) shown up to the appointment as committed to do so and b) not have such a ridiculous and shoddy arrangement for confirming appointments.........what's wrong with phoning clients to confirm. Text messages..........really!
