We had used Putterills before when buying our property and were happy with their service. They did not disappoint this time. They were always friendly, reliable and supportive. Gave good advice and if they said they would do something it would be done. We were very happy with the advertising on our property and had a steady amount of viewers. It did take a long time to sell, but I think this was due to the current financial climate as opposed to anything that Putterills could have done. We would certainly recommend Putterills to anyone, they are always professional, but most of all they are always there for you when you need them. Thank you very much to Graham and Sandra who we dealt with the most, your efforts were much appreciated.

Our experience of Putterills when hunting around for property both at Knebworth and harpenden were dire. Knebworth: it seemed it was too much trouble having customers enter and enquire. awful customer service very disapointed.
Harpenden never returned calls when they said they would then completely lied and were caught out when they said they left messages on my voicemail. I dont have voicemail. again poor service until i complained then it was adequate. However they would misinform me again getting caught out as i had direct contact with the seller also.

Putterills Estate Agents were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. The manager, Nick Brown, was a complete gentleman and we felt from the offset we could trust him and the Company. He did not greasily slide up our path with a slick patter clutching a plethora of expensive-looking brochures and marketing handouts and printouts. He was eloquent, polite, knowledgeable and made us feel we would be in "safe hands" with him and his staff marketing our property. We actually sold and bought a property through Putterills and dealt with mainly Steven for both. He then corresponded with his collegue at the other office. Most of the time this made things much easier. We have used Putterills in the past and have always found they have the best properties in the area, although we did find our current property on right move. If you are selling with them they are not pushey unlike some of the other agents in the area. We would definatley use them again without a doubt, you could not fault their service.

Very pleased with service from Putterills. I chose them after interviewing 3 agents and felt that although I slightly preferred the advertising of one of the other agencies, the rapport was much better and felt confident in them selling my property. The communication with all agents in the office was very good and if I was staying in the area, I would happily use them again.

Our agent got a buyer for our property within two weeks, we were kept fully advised at all times regarding the exchange and completion. Not an easy job in the current financial climate.

I recently purchased a New build property through Putterills. This was a very difficult time personally but the service i received was excellent. Susan Brett from the Putterills Land & New Homes Hitchin was fantastic and supported me every step of the way. Nothing was too much trouble and the service she gave to me was far beyond the call of duty.

The Putterills team at Stevenage rose magnificently to the challenges presented by marketing this Grade II* listed property that was rather tired. They negotiated an excellent price and worked very hard to keep the transaction progressing despite many problems facing the potential purchaser. They went beyond the call of duty responding to difficulties at the property while it was unoccupied - notably plumbing and mice infestation. I would particularly like to commend Nigel who was most resourceful in resolving at short notice a problem over clearing the house in the brief period between exchange and completion.

The Knebworth team provided a very friendly service and good, sound advice. The sale dragged on a bit but Graham and his colleagues kept us up to date with everything that was happening through the buying chain. We really appreciated their proactive approach. The only niggle was the state of the post holding up the "For Sale" sign. It had seen better days!

Putterills were prompt and professional in taking property details and competitive upon their fee offered.
Martin was particularly professional in negotiating with the purchasers in agreeing a final price.
Having agreed a sale things did slow down a lot and Putterills seemed ineffective in communicating with the purchasers and their solicitor.
In a similar vein their letting side is very efficient at locating tenants but are prone to adding in extra services.Was this review helpful? Yes

I purchased a new property in 2011 and Putterills New Homes were the agent. Buying a house and moving is a stressful and difficult process at times, but I was absolutely blown-away by the support that I received from the Putterills New Homes team (Kay in particular).
They were always aware of the latest position of the sale and worked tirelessly to ensure that it all came together. I was very impressed and couldn't have gotten through it without them!
They are a credit to their industry and I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I have recently completed my third sale with Putterills. I have absolutely no hesitation is recommending them. The Knebworth branch are at the same time professional and welcoming. My sale took a long time, but they never gave up actively marketing the property, even when in desperation I brought in another Estate Agents (who I subsquently gave up on). The sale did not go through smoothly, and there were lots of hiccups, but they never lost faith, and kept me going when I was ready to scream. Their brochures, regardless of the price of the property, are of a very high quality and the quality of the photographs excellent. Although I hope not to be selling again in the near future for anyone who is I would say they are the agents to use.

we have used Putterills twice now, once to buy a property and recently to sell our property. in our experience, Putterills bent over backwards to help us sell as quickly as possible. the staff (in particular Charlotte) were extremely helpful, friendly and understanding and their outstanding service met our needs with flying colours. moving house is a hugely stressful time but putterills took alot of our stresses away by acting quickly and proffessionally on our behalf which resulted in us being able to sell our house for the best price we could have wished for. i feel we have a lot to thank the members of staff in the Welwyn Garden City branch for and we will definately use them as our first choice of agent in the future and would highly recommend them to others...

I found this agent very efficient but also honest, friendly and positive to deal with, which was very refreshing! Buying a new home was something I had never done before, and the process was totally stress-free and easy. I found the Hitchin branch to be extremely professional and helpful at all times during the sale/purchase process which went through smoothly. I visited almost all the letting agents that where open over the bank holiday to try and find a property urgently as another landlord had let me down at the last minute. Martin at Putterills was great, really helpful and he arranged for me to view three houses. One of the three was perfect, the paperwork was started the same day and I hope to move in a week on Friday. Thanks again Martin.

I have to say that Putterills are a breath of fresh air in comparison to other St Albans based estate agents. Their service, friendliness and knowledge exceeds that of others. My dealings so far have been nothing but positive, Liam has been particularly helpful, always going that extra mile and I would go as far as to say that they do not appear to be like your "typical" estate agents. If Liam is unavailable I am always greeted by a friendly and helpful person in his absence. I would encourage people to use this agent.

Our experience with Putterills was very positive. Every member of staff was pleasant to deal with. The office was well organised. Our property was marketed well, the Open Day was efficiently managed and we received sound advice regarding which offer to accept. We purchased a property through the Harpenden office. We've dealt with quite a few agents in the past year through our own sale and a long seach for the right property to buy. We found Andrew and Mandy at the Harpenden office sensible and straightforward to deal with. Based on our experience as buyers, we'd use them if we were planning to sell, which we are not planning to do for a long time!

I visited three estate agents in Harpenden a few Saturdays ago and I was very impressed with the Putterills staff. Their local knowledge, quick understanding of my needs and ability to match suitable properties within minutes was impressive. Unfortunately, I had visited a few competitors before I stepped into the Putterills office - the staff at those seemed to have their pet properties they tried to get me to view and were unprofessional in style and manner. In a nutshell, I highly rate Putterills and they would be my first choice for a local estate agent everytime!

My mother in law was taken ill and we had to sell her home to pay for the care fees. This was a very sad time for us because the house had been in the family for over 50 years. I instructed Putterills of Stevenage to look after our interests and sell her home. All the staff were excellent and we were kept up to speed at all times. I cannot praise them highly enough. They were polite, attentive, very professional and customer friendly. They helped our family get through a difficult time and I thank them for that. We were constantly updated as to the progress of the sale. The house was sold and we were very pleased with the deal. I would use them again they have a family feel about them.

I have recently started looking for a property in St Albans and visited the office on Chequer Street, the person I saw was one of the partners called Andrew. He was very helpful, listened to what I wanted and booked viewings for me straight away to view on the day. I still get regular email updates from him which have also been useful. Putterills boast professionalism and yet they are arrogant and complacent and did not serve our best interests. They did not follow instructions and just seemed to want to accept any offer. Their customer services is woefull and unless you want to be handled insensitively and with a flipant disregard I would advise you steer clear.

The manager, Nick Brown, was a complete gentleman and we felt from the offset we could trust him and the Company. He did not greasily slide up our path with a slick patter clutching a plethora of expensive-looking brochures and marketing handouts and printouts. He was eloquent, polite, knowledgeable and made us feel we would be in "safe hands" with him and his staff marketing our property. He listened to us, he didn't interrupt nor did he say anything derogatory about the other local agents which was a courtesy not afforded by the two other agents we met. We didn't feel pushed or hounded as we were with the other local agents and the staff at Putterills all seemed very genuine people. No 22-year olds with ill fitting-suits, living with parents and with experience gained on a secondhand car lot are employed here. Putterills didn't value our property at the highest amount but we felt that they were a head and shoulders above the others in their insight, maturity and their ability to understand us and our needs and that is why we chose them. We weren't disappointed. Every member of the team answered any query we had and we didn't have to leave messages for one particular person as their systems were always updated so everyone knew where we were. Initially they sold our house twice very quickly, only for the sales to fall through due to problems further down the chain. They were extemely kind, reassuring and confident that they would succeed. Third time was indeed lucky for us and everything progressed without a hitch. It was a great shame that they didn't have branches in the area to which we moved. It would make life much easier if all agents were as professional, honest and hardworking as this team. Estate agents have historically been high up on most people's list of diskliked professionals and usually it is well deserved. However, these people warrant only praise. They are all absolute stars in a muddy pool of sharks. Don't bother going anywhere else, even if someone does tell you they can get £10k more. They won't. The sale dragged on a bit but Graham and his colleagues kept us up to date with everything that was happening through the buying chain. We really appreciated their proactive approach. They were always aware of the latest position of the sale and worked tirelessly to ensure that it all came together. I was very impressed and couldn't have gotten through it without them!

. The sale did not go through smoothly, and there were lots of hiccups, but they never lost faith, and kept me going when I was ready to scream. Their brochures, regardless of the price of the property, are of a very high quality and the quality of the photographs excellent.
