An agent from Prospect Reading explained their full management terms and I agreed on the understanding there were no extra hidden costs. The next day he added another charge which I agreed to as mistakes can be made, but when yet another amount was added I didn't. There were also costs listed in the 20 page terms he hadn't covered. His excuses ranged from he forgot, made a mistake, and didn't know what was in the terms as they were new. Not so believable coming from one of their management team.
When I didn't agree to the additional charges he simply told me to 'just go and use someone else then'. This was the best advice he gave and I would like to pass it on to you.

There were several hiccoughs with viewings, some were late, two failed to show. The eventual tenant misrepresented the number of children he had. They invoiced him incorrectly, they invoiced me incorrectly, they ignored emails, and only after 8 weeks, after I had threatened to sue them, he they agree to return the money they owed to me.
They had lots of leads, and did find a tenent qwickly, but are let down by their customer service. They have a nice office, smart staff, and glossy brochures, but it is all window dressing, they are ill-organised, ineffeicient and expensive, and various departments do not talk to each other, I shall not use them again.

I initially asked for a house to tent, but when shown a town centre apartment in Camberley, I knew this was the place for me. Adil and Phil were really helpful and I would recommend Prospect Lettings to anyone. Cheers guys!

So please with my all round experience from start to finish this is by far the most professional experience i have every had. They catered for my every need, would recommened using Reading office to all my friends and family. I dealt with so many other agents and by far Prospect were head and shoulders above the competetion.

I tried several agents to buy from but Prospect stand head and shoulders above the competetion and are truly and impressive outfit. From start to finish the communication was amazing and Emma saunders was a breath of fresh air.
Would throughly recommend them.

My husband has already said how disappointed we were with this agency, I just wanted to add one thing: Prospect males sales-agent are stuck in the Victorian era: Ladies, don’t bother speaking to them; if you have a husband, they will simply ignore your comments and call back to speak to the man of he house! In 2011, you would think this is not possible!

An absolute embarrassment!! Don't ever waste your time with these clowns. Had the displeasure of renting through them, which couldn't have gone worse. As soon as you give them the money you may as well talk to a brick wall for all the help you would get from them. Now they are re-letting my property and I have the constant tirade of phone calls from one moron after another. Anyone would think they were in different offices instead of the same desk....they clearly don't talk to each other! Useless. Wouldn't even give one star if!! Pathetic

a short story...
- Completely useless...
- Over valued my house
- 4 months down the line, at least 10 rude comments telling me the house wasn't selling because of me (not because of the agent).
- phoning 3 times a week telling me to reduce the price.
- Harrassing me with offers £40,000 lower than what I had instructed them to tell me about.
- Very rude agents barging into my house without knocking at all times of the day without informing me.
- Agents dress like they were going to a party, not trying to sell the house.

The way Prospect gets you to sign up with them as a vendor is by valuing your property much higher than other agents. Not necessarily a bad thing, as it gives you more scope for manoeuvre.
We were also told that they had loads of "investors" on their books who bought houses for investment purposes. We've seen ONE.
When signing up, the agent asked us what the most important thing was in selling a house. Our reply was "communication". The agent then said that communication was the ONE thing that Prospect was renowned for. Well I suppose they would say that.
Unfortunately, this is not the case. Lots of telephone calls with broken promises of returning calls, unanswered emails, and in our case a buyer who decided to change solicitors twice - the house is now back on the market.
Prospect have a total of 20 days left to sell our property - and we will then take great delight in switching to another agency.
If anyone asked me for advice, it would be "Don't use Prospect."

A****** EXPERIENCE WOULD RECOMMENED TO ANYONE, SPENT MONTHS ON WITH OTHER AGENTS BUT WITHOUT ANY LUCK OF SELLING. THE READING OFFICE WITH THERE WEEKLY PHONE CALLS SAID THEY WERE THE AGENT TO SELL IT AND TRUE TO THERE WORD THEY WERE.

- Making up complete rubbish about my house and lifestyle to the clients viewing the house - an example is that my garden is south facing (which it blaintently isnt as the sun was on the the other side of my house)
- Walking through the house with muddy shoes
- Never phoned me back
- Never answered an email
- Made a completely hoaks offer from someone to see if I would accept it...strange that she pulled out 24 hours after accepting the offer
- In the end just gave up with them.
- Made a complaint...which was then turned back to me as if it was entirely my fault.
- Refused, after writing phoning and emailing to take my property off the market.

Their sales pitch to get your property on the market with them is something dreams are made off. The impressive preparation, files, colour charts...etc, etc..... Then once you sign all those promises go out the door.
- Your right to cancel in 7 days - none.
- The fortnightly updates...none.
- The valuation price is much higher than everyone else in the area - 4 weeks later and 1 viewing ask you to drop the price.
- Investment portfolio and 100's of people looking for properties in your price range. Does not come up trumps.
- They don't reply to e-mails.
- You have to follow up with them.
- The BS fed back is something comical.From the experience we have had. I strongly advise you against prospect Reading office.

Irresponsible with promises made. Do not understand contracts and are awful at returning correspondents. All sales talk and little professionalism. No accountability taken for any mistakes they make either. Avoid!

Awful, couldn't organise anything. Didn't tell us when viewings were happening they just turned up and when viewings were confirmed they didn't turn up and then wondered why I was annoyed!
Complained repeatedly and they were the worst estate agent we used, they came up with a load of pathetic excuses and couldn't get appropriate viewings.Was this review helpful? Yes

I recieved a call as I was on my way (in a taxi) to view the property saying that we were meeting at 12, we were meeting at 10.30 and I recieved no apology just the guy saying that we could only go at 12. I sent them the confirmation emails and have heard nothing back, if they cant even get their diaries correct how can they get their lettings management right! Also, if you are a landlord, they are making people not go and see properties!!

Where to being; aggressive, confrontational...
I wanted to view a house they had for sale but, as mine isn't yet on the market although I have selected another agent to sell, I was only allowed to see it if I instructed them to sell for me.
Why have these guys got a bad reputation? I wonder!

We have got an eviction date because the landlord had trouble of paying the mortgage, and when we ask some help from them they just pointing to the landlord.... we have got all this for 577 admin fee.... nice...

I had a terrible experience with the agent. Everytime I asked for any service they point it to landlord, who in turns take atleast 7 days to call me back. Please be cautious about your deposit as they will try to keep as much as possible and will start bargaining from high rate. So that they can atleast have some.

They showed me an apartment and assured me the apartment i was getting was EXACTLY the same and I should put in an offer immedietely otherwise it would go. I was desperate and got pursuaded and put in my money. When I finally saw the flat it was not at ALL what they had promised and after a small apology were very rude.

Terrible service and I seemed to be dealing with children.
They cost me thousands of pounds during my dealings with them and introduced terrible tenants which ruined my apartment.

Brilliant, I tryed use Romans for three months and got only 4 viewings, they called me every week demanding me to reduse the price they told me!!
Well, three weeks on market with Prospect and a full asking price offer! and now I've completed and have a wonderful new home. I strongly recommend them!

Very very young members of staff, went in to book a valuation and no one in the office had a pen, I had to lend them mine so that they could make an entry in their diary. Looks good from the outside but a whole different story once inside. Manager in his early twenties...says it all.
