Numerous problems with Oliver Bond: slow to respond, rude and full of excuses (a classic one is "the person dealing with your matter is on the other line"). When it was time to get them to release the deposit they took over 4 months and solicitors had to be involved. They needed constant chasing and provided a very poor service. With hindsight I should never have used them: they are a complete waste of time. STAY AWAY!

We bought a property in Greenwich with the idea of it being a long term investment to rent out, we spoke to several agents to get an idea of what they charge and the services they provide, we found that Oliver Bond where on the ball with the local area and we have had no problems at all with them everything has gone rather smoothly.

It took me 6 months and £500 in legal fees to get my deposit back from Oliver Bond. This was despite having prepared and supplied all the paperwork in good time and given notice as required. Essentially, until I got lawyers involved, Oliver Bond kept reducing the amount they would release. Allegedly they were unable to speak to my old landlord for about *2* months! Then they stated I had not given notice (that is because *I* was given notice)! Then they sent part of the moneys to a random bank account: twice! At the end of the day the old set of tricks. At the end of the day, had I not had the £500 for the lawyers, Oliver Bond would have walked away with £2500. So please, please, please: follow my advice and do not use them unless you want to use lawyers too!

Amazed that they are still trading! They are an absolute disgrace and would put anyone off letting a property every again. We let a house from them in Greenwich, and they failed to register our deposit for about 6 weeks, and only did so after we issued a County Court judgement against them. When they did register it, they did so in their name with the landlord as the tenant! What was more worrying was that there were countless other judgements against them which were still outstanding. Usually its only the tenants who complain about letting agents in such numbers, so its a real testament to how bad they are that there are so many unhappy landlords also!

Have used Oliver Bond once, and will never touch them with a barge pole again.

They are rude, impatient, and full of lies. University failures who are obviously motivated by the talk of a sales (on target earnings) job.

Oliver Bond are clearly ruthless, as they don't give a damm about how you (the Landlord) is treated. With any vacancy being leached on by several property agents at a time.

I found Christopher Bond to be extremely dishonest and had to start with legal threats in order to get paid. Be careful, he will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to get your business. Once you have instructed him, then say byebye to any customer service, all rents/ payments will be in arrears, you will have to employ debt collecting agencies to chase him, so many lies coming from him, from over valued properties to deposits non refunded to tenants, deduction of fees without the landlord's permission. BE CAREFUL.

Let me start by saying that they are the most useless and unprofessional company I have ever had to deal with. I have been chasing my rent for 3 months now and everytime I call I get fobbed off with another story and I get told that the accounts lady is not available.
I have spoken to the accounts lady (christine) only a handle full of times, she is so rude, and does not know how to deal with people, ignores emails and like the other review says she does not know her a** from her elbow. Still chasing my rent to this day and seem to be getting nowhere... I have now started seeking legal advise.

My advice to you is.... AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! The worst experience as a LL and I regret ever putting my property on with them!!!!

I have lived in Greenwich for 15 years and have never heard a bad word said against Oliver Bond. I have rented out a property through them for the last 5 years and have consistently received a high level of service. The tenants they have found have all been reliable and they are always willing to give advice where needed. I intend to continue using their services.

    Attention Contractors

This agent will not pay invoices presented by contractors, will avoid or ignore answering calls/ letter in this regards.
Deal on cash basis only. Also, a very high risk credit rated company by Creditfocus

I contacted OBL (Oliver Bond Lettings) in August 2010 to let a 3 bedroom house in Greenwich. I found their service, just honestly no service at all.

They never communicate actions taken by themselves, involving taking money from my rent monies, (which they hang onto) or information vital to the letting process, They never respond to e-mails or letters.I have sent them many e-mails, 3 letters, and have received just 1 e-mail back from them.

They collect rent 6 months in advance from the tenants.. In ADVANCE. It took me 2 months to get any rent payment from them, and in a 6 month period they managed 3 rent payments, all for the wrong rent. OK their commission charge is approx.1 1/2 months rent, but they still owe me money, .

I will never use OBL again, they proved themselves to be totally inept, inefficient, useless and utterly unprofessional.

They took absolutely ages to deal with my flat failing to let it out in 3 months of waiting. Its a top notch flat and I was willing and happy to drop the rental. They fiddled and faffed around failing to do anything. Hopeless firm, don't do business with them.

I don't normally write reviews but feel so stongly about Oliver Bond as truly worst Estate Agent I have ever dealt with in any capacity.

Agree with all the other negative comments - they are rude, never return calls, payment of rent always months late - just really really bad service.

You may pay more with others but now I see its worth every penny!

Please do not use this agency. They owe us £4,000 and if you search them you will see there are 7 outstanding CCJs owing around £150K (as of 15/4/11). All this explains the slow payment of monthly rents and poor service standards. But the most worrying part is that despite the tenancy agreement containing the DPS details the deposit taken for us was not protected (this is an offence and puts the landlord in a tricky position) and despite us terminating the agreement the deposit has not been paid back. In addition they are not members of either of the Estate Agents ombudsman schemes and we have been advised that they are trading illegally. All in all don't go any where near this company.

Absolutely dreadful service. Do not use, there are far better agents who are honest and trustworthy. They are unable to send paper work properly, bump up the prices of property through greed, have really bad relationships with tenants and landlords and are generally incompetent. You will regret using this agent so don't... It can be reflected in the properties that they have sitting on their website for months and months, unable to properly promote them, the high prices and the standard of the properties are really bad compared to other agents who are trustworthy and honest in Greenwich.

I've been renting in London for around 12 years and I've never encountered any agents/landlords as appallingly unprofessional as these. You'd think that there would be laws in place to regulate this kind of behaviour. *****, is extraordinarily hard to deal with, like dealing with a petulant child. Don't expect any repairs to be done without a mammoth battle, and when they're finally done it'll be a cheap bodge job. Don't expect reason, politeness or anything approaching professionalism. Avoid like the plague. Accounts dept are awful, they try their best to keep all deposits there.

I will never deal with this estate agent ever again!! They are untrustworthy. Their paperwork is a shambles and they take monies without any prior consent. They put their interests above that of their clients/customers. They took it upon themselves to employ a tradesman which for a simple fault charged

I would strongly recommend to not choose Oliver Bond letting agents. We have had a very bad experience with them right from the start. Their initial holding fee is too high and they have many hidden fees and charges. None of them were informed till the last minute. Service is bad. Avoid them if you can. Also we are now having a real porblme getting them to admit that they are holding the deposit. They are not part of ARLA or the Deposit Fund. If we had seen this website and knew that they are not trading like most agents we would have saved a lot of time money and agrovation.

Do not use. They came in with their promise of a high price sale which would have justified their high commission rate but they didn't keep to their promises. We dropped them and went with another agent howver, they still market my property at less than the asking price and hassle my wife by wanting to send viewers around on a descrete basis!

Stay clear, there are plenty of other agents around that are no where near as bad as Oliver Bond!

I have been waiting two years to get my deposit back. When I contact the branch they claim not to know who I am and now claim that they were not the staff here two years ago. They charged me a bigger rent than the one agreed with the Landlord. I see that others have put posts here. Is there anything that can be done? The staff are rude, aggressive and have little local knowledge.

Still waiting on deposit from 2 years ago after it was released to someone I had never heard of. Absolutely ridiculous agency - do not trust them. Just been informed that reason for lack of communication for this period was due to a virus. Gone to court. Do yourself a favour and save thousands - use someone else or go private

We have rented through Oliver Bond for the last 6 years and I have to say that they excellent, polite and always produce an excellent deal not only for the tenant but also for the landlord.

I strongly disagree with the personal attacks on the owner Chris Bond and suggest that people maybe a little more patient when dealing with a very busy office.

I have always passed onto friends and bsiness people the details of Chris and satff at Oliver Bond and have always received very positive feedback. I find people don't complain when a complaint is needed.

I hope anyone else reading this will give Oliver Bond and Chris a chance to prove others wrong.
    I wish you good day.

Truly awful. I move out of an apartment and three months later still awaiting return of the deposit. I manage to contact the landlord overseas, agree the amount of deposit to be repaid, and two months later still no progress (it seems that the landlord is also owed money by Oliver Bond).

Emails go unanswered. Calls are not returned. Money is left unpaid to both tenant and landlord. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. It just isn't worth the aggravation.
