Although I am posting this feedback against Barnaby's name, my comments equally apply to the team that supported our house sale - Neal, Mark, and Terry.
Michael Hardy are a class act. Very professional, clear in their opinions and fair in dealings with all parties. I would happily recommend their service.
I might add that 18-years ago they sold us the house that we have just sold. Service levels then were also very good.

It is often said that the buying / selling a property is one of the most stressful times a person can go through. Michael Hardy (MH) certainly ease the whole process. This opinion is based upon having used MH for buying a property some 5 years ago and selling one recently.
On the purchase front it was MH who worked their socks off sorting out problems that were being caused by other persons in the chain and not mine or of their making.
More recently on the sale of a property I also sought 'advice' from other estate agents, but chose MH because they told me as it was and not what I wanted to hear, they told me what I should do to make the property more marketable and gave a reasonable estimated sale price. I could have gone with a cheaper agent, but results speak for themselves. They were so professional that the house was sold within a week and they kept me informed of progress throughout the whole process.

It took nine months to sell my property but that was in a difficult market. I chose Michael Hardy because they offer good old fashioned customer service. They do not indulge in "Jack the Lad " activities . They go the extra mile to sell your property and keep you informed. Could possibly be more proactive. I was very pleased with the service they provided and they do know the local market place very well indeed.

I chose Michael Hardy as I knew they'd been successful selling similar properties in the area -- and I was right to do so. The third viewing yielded a prospective buyer, who sadly could not move on to completion for personal reasons. On re-marketing, Michael Hardy found another buyer within a week, able to move to completion in just over 7 weeks from first seeing the house. Overall it took a little longer than I wanted to sell the house from first putting it on the market, but Michael Hardy staff were supportive and responsive throughout, particularly Barny, Terry, Neal and Chris. Thank you all very much.

We chose Michael Hardy because we were impressed with the Wokingham team and particulary Mark who came out to visit us after we first contacted them. His local market knowledge was first class, he didn't blind us with sales speak and he had a clear view of the best sales strategy for our property. Both he and the rest of the team were a pleasure to deal with and the service we received felt like a personal one. They are not the cheapest though, but we knew that from the outset.

Terry, Barney and all the other agents have been superb in arranging the viewings and negotiating the deal with the buyer. The property, from coming fully on the market to handover to the buyer, occurred within 4 months. Very quick. In particular, I am very impressed with their professionalism.

Ian at Micheal Hardy in Crowthorne and the entire team there are a cut above the rest when it comes to buying and selling houses in my opinion. Having dealt with other agents in the area, I had a direct comparison, and I would say this team's strength is based on maturity and outstanding customer service-house buying and selling is supposed to be stressful, but the one thing that can help alleviate some of that stress is communication, and Ian was on the ball the whole way through the process, even when he had nothing to report he kept in touch and as a buyer I really appreciated that. Approachable, mature, with top customer service skills-oh if only all estate agents could match up, house buying really wouldn't be as stressful as it normally is. Thank you Ian, Chris, Tracy and Ben in Crowthorne.

We used Michael Hardy as selling agent because of our excellent experience of them when we bought the house 15 years previously when they were acting as selling agents then and we have worked with Mark Raft on both occassions. The individual long term commitment of staff members results in their having a deep understanding of the Wokingham property market and the ability to recognise the value of particular characteristics of our property. This resulted in their valuation being £50K greater than two other local agents which was justified by offers and selling price that were again £50K above what the other agents advised us to expect. Although their commission rate is above the norm their results have justified this. The staff ring back when they say they will and are unfaillingly courteous. As we have now experienced their quality of service twice we would unhesitatingly recommend them.

I have used this company for the past 18 months.
They have excelled at everything from day one, the property was ready to move into on time and brilliantly clean. There was an inital issue which was stated from the start and fixed the following day.
Payments have always been taken on time, notice was always given before visits, even in an emergency. They have always kept both named tennants up todate on everything that was happening, never favouring to contact one above another.
inventory checks have always been performed frequently and always on the correct date.
I would recommend this estate agent for both lettings and management to anyone, they have been a pleasure to use and I wish all estate agents were like them!

I have bought and sold using Michael Hardy now, and fully intend to use them for future sales. They are very quick to respond to phone calls and emails. All of their staff are professional, helpful and knowledgeable and, unlike some other agents I have encountered, never pushy or impatient. My property was sold and completed well within 3 months with minimal stress or fuss.

Michael Hardy sold my house within 4weeks and achieve very close to the asking price. They priced the house realistically as I requested. The did all the viewings for me and kept me updated after each visit. Their chain checking was carried out weekly and I was always informed of what was happening in the chain. Exchange happened within 6 weeks and completions will be within 2 weeks. I was extremely happy with this agent and was always able to speak to them whenever I needed to. Thank you for your help.

Although it took slightly longer to receive an acceptable offer, they process was very quick once we accepted an offer.

I approached Michael Hardy, as I am very very sceptical of Estate Agents, I bought my house with them 6 years ago and I must admit they have continued to deliver a professional approach as skilled estate agents and negotiators. I am also buying my new house through them and my partner has sold his house, so this is testiment itself.
Barnaby from the Wokingham office was an exceptional negotiator, I am not the easiest client to please, but Michael Hardy's team, including Terry and Mark established a solid relationship and kept me in touch at every step and more importantly they were HONEST.

We engaged Michael Hardy at the beginning of September to sell my late father's home. An 'open day' was scheduled for two weeks later, but shortly after the agents board was put up an offer was made for the full asking price. This was accepted and the viewing day was then cancelled.
There were a few issues that needed to be resolved but all the staff were very helpful and efficient in all our dealings with them. The solicitor that was recommended to us by Michael Hardy was also extremely thorough and efficient which helped ease us through the process. When some information was needed urgently it was copied and taken to the solicitor's promptly The sale of the property was finalised on the 16th November and I would certainly recommend Michael Hardy to anyone considering putting their house on the market.Was this review helpful?
