   Would you use the agent again? No

   Cheap and cheerful and middle of the road!. When I rented with them, if there was a maintenance problem, they dealt with it quickly which was great. Martyn Russell\'s tended to get unmodernised, low end houses but having been in a \"professional\" house share, they were content with taking anyone in off the street including those on DSS. By no means the worst agent I\'ve dealt with, but I wouldn\'t do a professional house share through them again.

   I lived in a ridiculously large and rather old house for 3 years with this agency, until August 2008. As you can imagine there was no desire to update the dodgy electrics or replace the increasingly money-swallowing oil tank, but the main issue was when I came to leave the property.
   Unfortunately they did tend to contact me solely regarding anything to do with the house which became quite tiresome, but at least I was getting answers. I had already managed to lessen the rent increase by pointing out all the things they hadn't fixed, so as long as you put it in a formal letter, they are manageable.

   However, their lack of interest and speed in dealing with monies meant that there was a discrepancy on my departure (not my fault) which they told me to pay. Again, a formal letter and stern words in person seemed to do the trick as they obviously wanted rid of me!

   Not the worst estate agents I've met, but untrustworthy manipulative people all the same.

   Disorganised cowboys, that completely lose interest once they have your money. It took two weeks to finalise moving in, of which we were paying during that time without actually being within the property. Their listings upon letting sites are a lot lower than the actual rent, be warned of their methods to suck you in! Ask for all documentation possible before signing and handing any money over.

   Some of them are quite rude, and I lost all confidence in the business, but don't take my word for it, pop in yourself.....

   Has only been operating a year if you check the companies house listing, and has moved offices a few times since then, go with another letting agent if possible!

   Absolutely shocking. They kept us without fully-functioning hot water and heating for 6 months. When we complained, we were treated as an unwanted hinderance and never as valued customers. They only finally took some action when we complained in front of another customer. Even had the outrageous cheek to charge us a 'cheking-out' fee - something which had never previously been mentioned. Avoid them like the plague if you value your sanity.
