Jay was very professional and helpful in finding tenants and negotiating the rental amount with them.
Peter was also helpful on the contract details.
Finally, Sue Roberts & Sue Whitmore are very efficient with logistics and arranging things with tenants and certificates etc.
I'm also renting a flat through M&W and they have been equally good on this side.
In summary, M&W are straightforward and reliable agents to deal with and I would be happy to use them again.

My agent was Oliver Price.
We went to view a property last weekend and we weren;t sure on this particular one but Oliver went out of his way to drive us to a flat he highly recommended that had just come back on the market that day. We were really impressed with the flat and ended up putting a holding deposit on the place and are hoping to move in there. Oliver wasn't pushy and gave us space and time to make a choice that day and has handled all the referencing really well and kept us informed throughout the process.
Overall very happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone else looking for a property.

This is the second time we've used Martin and Wright. Jay is very familiar with the West Hampstead market and understood exactly what we were looking for. We made an offer on the first flat he showed us and moved in the following week!

Jay was without question, a pleasure to deal with whilst securing my first property to rent. He listened to my requirements, and sourced me relevant properties to view, going the extra mile to show me some outside of office hours, which was greatly appreciated. Always polite, informative, and extremely knowledeable about the surrounding area as well as the properties I wished to view. He also got me a great deal! I would certainly recommend Jay, and the team at Martin & Wright for any prospective buyer, letter or landlord.

Although the property found is in a great location, it took 6 months for our place to be ready. We were promised the place was ready the day we would move in. We had builders coming in and out the first 6 months we lived at our new home. We then had to negotiate with the landlord ourselves as our kitchen and one bathroom could not be used for this time. Given the situation was known by the agent, it could have been delt better.

The agent provided details for renewal of our tenancy contract both by email and post. The process for renewal was explained clearly. The company is approachable with further questions and runs an efficient business. All in all we have been pleased with the service provided.

Jay has been highly professional and very supportive throughout. From the beginning, he made me feel confident that I was in good hands and that he was looking out for my interests as much as the landlord's. Jay explained the terms and requirements of the process very clearly and also took the time to understand my situation. He demonstrated flexibility and patience when delays arose, and when an unexpected development caused a delay in start date of the contract, he offered me a timely and viable alternative (1 month let in another flat). I would definitely recommend Martin and Wright, and Jay in particular, to my acquaintances and network.

We have a number of local properties all of which we have used Jay from Martin and Wright to find us tenants. Martin and Wright operate very efficiently and effectively. They go the extra mile to find the right tenant. The staff are courteous and never take our business for granted, they respond immediately to our emails and calls and always manage to deliver a good service.
Their contracts and associated paperwork are always prompt, and are very clear and easy to follow, which makes our lives alot easier!

When I first began my flat hunt several weeks ago, Martin Wright was the first company I approached. A friend of mine living in the area described them as being the agency "with the hidden gems".

Over the past few months I have dealt with a number of letting agents while looking to rent a property, which can be a headache, but I have found the staff at Martin & Wright very helpful and easy to deal with, as well as being flexible in working around our busy schedule. Upon viewing the flat our agent, Oliver Price, acted in a very professional manner and answered every little nettling detail we threw his way.
Seeing that we are both working professionals we found it hard to stay in touch with agents we were dealing with at the time, but Oliver followed up our viewing with a phone call the next day, and the day after that when we were unable to speak to him before. He had since offered us advice and kept us in the loop with the property market to help aid in our final decision, and when that was final we found other people in the office just as skilled and accommodating.
I would highly recommend Martin & Wright to anyone who wants a great team of professional, and very helpful, agents.

Jay has been a breath of fresh air from the moment he called me to offer me his assistance in re-renting my flat - Jay first rang me on Christmas Eve 2 years ago to enquire if I had found new tenants for my flat as my old tenants had just moved into one of his rental properties. I had not!!!

I rented my property through Martin & Wright and found them to be excellent.
The negotiator Jay Hayden was a pleasure to deal with, very personable, professional and a pleasure to deal with.
They rented my property quickly and efficiently and the tenant is they found is working out brilliantly.
I found their whole process to be the best I have encountered. The service, speed and professionalism was unparalleled. The references were amazing and I received the full amount without any problems.
I would say that Martin & Wright - and Jay in particular - are the best agency out there! I would strongly recommend them to anyone who's looking to rent their property, or looking to rent a property!

Jay is the most efficient agent. Whenever we have a property becomming available he invariably finds a new tenant so we have few voids. He knows the type of tenant we want and he advises on price and market forces. His office deals competantly with all the paperwork and usually there is a smooth transition from tenant to tenant. But nobody's perfect... we have had the odd tenant who we wished we hadn't but even then he helped us to rectify the situation. Martin & Wright have always been fair, honest and hardworking and most importantly they always ring back.

I have used Martin & Wright for many years. I have several properties in London and they (through my choice) are the only Agents I do feel 100% confident in using. Martin & Wright simply always go "beyond the call of duty" whatever my query or request. They equate to total peace of mind for my part and I would recommend them thoroughly. I have not named all the staff but over the past 7 years I have not dealt with any member of their staff who has not been attentive and capable.

Jay acted for me and my business partner while we were abroad, and wanted to let out our flat. He facilitated the letting of the flat, for an excellent rental income, in a very hassle-free manner. He also helped in organising contractors to redecorate the place before the tenants moved in, again for a reasonable rate.

I was new to the area and needed a property urgently. I dealt with both Oli and Jay and found them both to be extremely professional and very helpful. They only showed me properties within the price range I was looking and did not try and show me anything that was outside of the price or type I was looking for. Oli was very prompt in getting back to me with any queries and extremely helpful and polite at all times. I had a few queries with the rental agreement, which again Oli sorted out for me without delay. Both Oli and Jay made the experience as least stressful as possible although dealt with everything in a timely manner. I would have no hesitate in recommending Martin & Wright to my colleagues or friends and think they outshine many of the larger agencies in the area.

Sophie was excellent; very helpful when we were looking for properties. She listened to what we wanted and adapted the flats she showed us accordingly. She was polite helpful and friendly and committed to find us a suitable flat. She did not harass and bother us with flats that did not fit our brief, I felt confident that she would find us a suitable property, which she did.

With so many estate agencies in West Hampstead its difficult to know who to turn to. I found a lot of agents in the area quite pushy, had very little knowledge of the area and quite inexperienced. Then I spoke to Martin & Wright. I dealt with Jay from the start, and found him great throughout the process. I really felt that he took the time to listen to what I wanted, and then he only called me about suitable properties. I only had to view a few properties before i made my decision but could have happily rented any of them. When I did decide, I really thought that Jay got the best deal for me and that my happiness was really important to him, which is not like most agenceis I have come across before.
I cant thank Jay and M&W enough for helping me so quickly and professionally and would happily recommend them to anyone thinking of renting in the NW London area

I have been using Martin & Wright exclusively for 10 years, initially as a tenant, then as a landlord and finally as a seller. I have always experienced exceptional service from them. The difference between Martin & Wright and other agents is the level of personal attention you receive, starting from the owner Peter Martin and filtering down. I've recently sold my flat through them with Malcolm Ornstein as the sales agent. Malcolm managed to get me my target sales price. The sale proved quite a long and drawn out process and Malcolm kept me updated throughout and was always a phone call away for any questions I might have had. He was very friendly and personable and helped in making the process as smooth as possible. Prior to the sale I rented my flat using Jay Hayden. He found me excellent tenants in a short time and left me with almost no void period. Similar to Malcolm, Jay was always a phone call away for any questions and was always friendly and extremely helpful. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Martin & Wright.

The agency arranged a flat for me when I was in awkward circumstances and I'm very grateful for that. They also recommended my present landlord who has turned out to be excellent and negotiated a new mattress with that landlord.
Every one of the employees has dealt with me in a professional but courteous and friendly manner, has arranged renewal of tenancies quickly and efficiently and has even gone to some trouble to arrange a visit to me when I was physically unable to go to their office to sign a document.

I initially appointed Foxtons to rent my property as they valuated the largest rental income which to me and I think most landlords is ultimately the most important aspect of renting a property. However they were absolutely horrendous to deal with and the extra additional costs, anxiety and stress caused was not worth it at all especially when such high management fees are involved.
Anyway, since being with Martin & Wright, being a landlady has been a breeze. I can not recommend them enough, they have completely exceeded all expectations and are always willing to go above and beyond their call of duty! Every aspect of renting your property is dealt with professionally and with a personal touch. I think the main benefit is that they are an independent agent and there is a sense of a family/team effort rather than a large commercial chain where you are made to feel like a number and often as though you are doing them a favour!Was this review helpful? I usually loathe dealing with estate agents with the hard sell and persistent calls. Jay was definitely dogged in his approach to secure my property but he listened to everything I wanted to say in how I wanted things handled and I was impressed that he has delivered on every level. As an individual he is great to deal with, responsive, efficient and professional. The agency is small and personal and this makes a big difference. I've been really happy with the service too in renegotiating the lease but most importantly because Martin & Wright found me an excellent tenant with whom they organized a contract with with minimum hassle. Unlike Foxtons where you get hidden extras, M&W's fee included the contract and that was a pleasant surprise. All these things make all the difference and imwill certainly be using these guys again going forward.

I was referred by a friend to Martin & Wright and found them particularly helpful in the letting of my flat. Despite my property being outside of West Hampstead, they were accomodating and keen to establish a relationship.
The pictures taken of my property were great, I feel that really helped with advertising. Jay was quick to get my flat onto their website and in less than a week, had shown a number of tenants, secured a deposit and carried out necessary references.
Unfortunately, my tenant left at the end of their term, but more recently, Jay readvertised and secured another (so far, excellent) tenant to take over the flat with seamless transition. It was empty for less than a week.
Excellent servce and good attention to detail.

Their admin team didnt push too hard for our references so we didnt feel under too much pressure which helped keep the process as stress free as possible. I worked with Jay in the capacity of a tenant while securing our first London flat. I had been looking for about a month, when I found what I believed to be our perfect flat (with an outside agent). We decided to move very quickly, due to a high level of interest on the property, and came into contact with Jay as the listing agent, and property manager.
All of our correspondence has been exemplary thus far. Jay has been extremely helpful in ensuring that all of our questions were answered promptly and courteously. Being American, we have had quite a few questions about the differences with leasing protocols, how to set up utilities, and other miscellaneous requests. As I mentioned, he has been fast and thoughtful in all responses, even on the weekend - and has scheduled time out of his day to make sure we have everything we need.
Couldn't have asked for more.

All dealings from the viewing stage to any maintenance work required were managed quickly and sufficiently between all three parties. In general I am satisfied with the viewing of the properties and the contacts with the administration. Personel working at the office, however, they had less patience to explain me the UK agreements of letting. Since I just moved from abroad I am not used to all the checks of references that are performed as well as with al kind of regulations in the tenancy agreement. Hospitality is lacking, and that is not what I expect from this organisation.

Martin & Wright have performed at the top end of my expectations for nearly 4 years now on my 2 rental properties.
They have always found quality tenants and achived the market rate on rents. There have been no vacant periods despite changes in tenants at both flats.
Jay Hayden in particular has always gone the extra mile in terms of quality of service and exceeding my expectations frequently. I have dealt with this agent for nearly 7 years after having a bad experience with a local agent. Jay came in and immediately promised he would get us more rent than what we were achieving (as he was genuinely gobsmacked at how low the rent was at the time). I appointed Martin Wright to let my property even though Hendon isn't their main area and within 1 week they showed 18 couples all at the same time and ended up having a bidding war over who wanted to rent my flat.
The attention to detail from start to finish was superb even my tenant commented on their excellent knowledge, likeability and simply 'got the job done'.

I found Martin and Wright to be extremely easy to deal in comparison to another estate agency I used in the area. Viewings were conducted efficiently and professionally, and they were able to ask questions you had. Every aspect of dealing with this company was smooth. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent in the area.

We have been using Martin and Wright as a rental agent for many years now and we cannot be happier with the service they provide and cannot recommend them highly enough. The entire Martin and Wright team are an absolute pleasure to deal with. After struggling with other agencies to find a place to live. Jay was a great help and managed to find myself and friends a place before we became homeless! The best part about them was their honesty and knowledge of the area. After dealing with other agents who over promised and under delivered, they told us the truth and didnt say what we wanted to hear in order to make a sale.

My first dealing with Martin & Wright as I was recommended to them via another landlord/friend of mine. From the word go they were professional and enthusiastic about marketing/letting my property and offered a competitive rate. Found me a tenant quickly and processed it through with the minimum of fuss! References were done efficiently and properly and I now have a wonderful tenant. I have rented a lot of properties with a number of agents in the past and I can honestly say that Martin & Wright were the best agent I've rented through. All the staff were so helpful and friendly and really made sure they did their absolute best to help me find my ideal property. I've been using Martin & Wright as a rental agent for a number of years now, and have never regretted the decision. I've never had the property be empty, and despite living hundreds of miles away, have never felt I've not known the market in my area or had any cause for concern from the tenants Martin & Wright secure.
My primary contact is Jay Hayden and he has always gone above and beyond his remit in making sure my time as a landlady has been smooth and easy.
I would heartily recommend this company to anyone looking for a rental agent in the NW6 area.

Fantastic agency. Jay is a superb manager, devotong exactly the right amount of time to the Lanlord's requirements; attentive but not over-attentive. He really puts himself out to provide a great service, even coming to an out-of-hours interview with potential tenants when he had important domestic demands from his new baby. Jay is particularly efficient and accurate at valuing and assessing rentable values of flats and finding good tenants able to comply with his valuations.
Peter provides a constant daily oversight of the whole client relationship, coupling wisdom with experience and offering advice and assistance where needed, especially over differences of opinion with tenants.
Overall, Martin and Wright offers the best standard of service I have ever found, as a landlord for 25 years.

Martin and Wright has rented out all of my properties for the past 5 years.
Their service has been absolutely excellent - I cannot fault it in any way.
Peter and Jay have always managed to let out the properties, in whatever market or time of year, with the minimum of fuss and they always get a very good rental price. 1st Class Service - by far the best agent we have dealt with in West Hampstead! We recently let a property through Martin & Wright and were totally impressed with their overall professionalism and efficiency throughout. All our requests were adhered to - the lettings manager Jay Hayden kept us in the loop step by step, and when we moved in it was as expected! Highly recommended - a pleasure to deal with.

The rudest sales representative I have ever dealt with.
After registering my details with the receptionist 2 days ago, I then missed one call from the sales representative Malcolm Ornstein yesterday. After receiving a voicemail, I then tried to call back 3 times but was told he was away from his desk.
This morning I received a voicemail from Malcolm in an accusatory tone, 'Hi, this is the second voicemail I have left you with no return call. I just cannot understand how one says one is looking for properties and one doesn't respond to my voicemail - I can only presume that one is not seriously looking to buy a property. I will now proceed to remove you from my database".
If this is the first impression I get of the way they treat their clients, I will gladly be removed from their database!

A friend of mine living in the area described them as being the agency "with the hidden gems".
I called to view a property that I had originally seen 3 years ago, but didn\'t remember until Oli, who was the agent assigned to me, very astutely reminded me that I had actually viewed that same property several years back. I was initially impressed with his knowledge of my file and when I finally met him at the property, I was exceptionally impressed from the start with his friendly approach, his professional conduct and his non pushy attitude. Upon arriving at the property, Oli could see that I was not happy with what I saw and from that point on, he made every attempt to introduce me to the properties he felt would meet my requirements. He listened attentively to the specifications I was after, and matched my specs to the right places in his portfolio. He never once suggested something that he couldn\'t back up and he was honest and forthcoming from the start; something which I hold in high regard, especially in an industry where prospective tenants often feel under pressure with pushy and dishonest agents (I absolutely have felt this way with other agents).
Although Martin Wright was the first agency I approached, I did go to competitors in the area who I initially thought would be better suited to serve me, as they were more recognisable. That was far from the truth. I was disappointed in the other agents, as I felt they were more interested in closing a deal rather than actually finding me the place that was right for me. The property I finally took was one of the first Oli had showed me and on our last viewing, it was his well positioned advice which encouraged me to move forward in making an offer. Never once did he act as though I had wasted his time or that I had been inconvenient in my wavering decision making process. He was simply an excellent consultant.
Oli was amicable, confident, and focused more on finding me the right place rather than bombarding me with irrelevant properties. He made every viewing absolutely worth while, even the ones which were not right for me. He made me feel secure and safe, and was always patient, understanding, accommodating and above all, incredibly polite and incredibly well spoken.
I am extremely grateful to Oli for his determination and unwavering professionalism during what has been a stressful and time consuming search. From initial viewings to when I put an offer down, I couldn\'t have chosen a better agent to work with and I wish him all the success in the world in the property business.  Jay smoothed over any frustrations I may have had and increased the rental value by £50 P/W straight away. Jay has an easy non pushy style and works so hard to make you happy by ensuring you are informed every step of the way. Jay has just re let my flat on a long let with an improved rental income and overcome some annoying problems easily and with humour. I have spoken to Peter Wright (Director) when Jay was away during the birth of his son and Peter was fully informed of me and knew everything about my property situation, everything was seamless .Martin Wright are excellent and very experienced agents who clearly enjoy what they do, this shows in everything they are connected with and in the quality tenants they provide. They were prompt and most importantly honest. Being American, we have had quite a few questions about the differences with leasing protocols, how to set up utilities, and other miscellaneous requests. As I mentioned, he has been fast and thoughtful in all responses, even on the weekend - and has scheduled time out of his day to make sure we have everything we need.
