Waiting for a deposit to be returned to me. I have now been waiting 10 days. Repeated telephone calls to Ameet who tells me his accounts dept will be sorting it out but I believe he is the only one that works in the shop.How do you work that one out !!!! I am now taking it up with the Office of Fair Trading and Citizens advice asap.

This is a real doughy agency.
If you are really unlucky and had to ever use their “service” then make sure-
1. You never sign a document without reading it properly. There so called “explanation” of terms is total rubbish. Ameet will pretend that he knows the inside out of the property market and gives an impression in initial meeting that he will be always on your side if something happens. They will come up with things like “these are normal clauses in agreements, no one ever uses it” . Be very careful about the 20page “tenancy agreement” which they give you. Take time... I am having really bad experience in getting deposit back from them, its almost getting two months now and whenever I call them they come with new excuse.
1- They said they did the online transfer. (After 1 weeks when tried to trace it with them they said having problem with bank's fraud checks)
2- They said this time problem with bank sorted out and transfer is done (After 1 week tried to trace and said some other problem happened and they manually go to bank and deposit the money)
3- After 2 weeks of manual deposit nothing came to my account. (I tried to trace again and they are saying come and collect the check)I'll see what will happen this time. I can not trust their words.

I am currently a tenant via Madisons......well where do I start?......I moved into the property in Dec 2010 although I was due to move into the property in mid November, it took till mid Feb for everything to be complete (as in no more builders, but yet I had to call the council myself to arrange for the building to be catergorised for Council Tax purposes!)
I have had to call Madisons on various occasions regarding the standard of the work done on the property only to find out, once the building surveyor came out the property shouldnt have been rented in its current state! I'm not sure... (read more)

To all prospective customers of this estate agent:
Do not even think about using the services of this letting agency.

The house was not properly cleaned, though the agency claimed to used a professional cleaners. So many pending works and it took me nearly three months to get the house in a proper state. When called for service, he would tell as if the service person is on the way but never get fixed. My Landlord has changed the letting agent in the middle of the tenancy as he was not getting the rental payments from the agency properly. As the deposit money wasn't secured into the TDS, he had very hard time getting the tenancy deposit to the new agency. Not a right place for letting or for property maintenance with peace of mind.

Hi, they are terrible in returning deposit. Every single day comes up with new excuses that account has a problem, server problem, amount transferred to another a/c... they are so disloyal in their service would never trust them again and warn others for using them.

Failed to put the deposit into a protection scheme.
Failed to pay back the deposit after 11 months of asking.
Only now, after paying for a solicitor and threatening court action does it look likely I'll get anything back.I suggest if you are are an existing tenant or prospective tenant, you pay particular attention to the law and ensure you get a letter within 14 days stating where and how your deposit is protected.

 without you getting a copy of it. Otherwise they will never give you a copy and you will be left with no clue what you have signed and will not be able to show it as a proof in court. If they pretend that they forgot to bring a copy then do NOT sign. You will never get a copy once you sign it. Do not believe any word coming from their mouth. Get everything in writing.
3. If you are paying any amount get the receipt then and there itself.
4. Make sure they mention the item conditions when inventory is taken. Otherwise they will take the inventory without the “condition” of the item and when you leave they will take it with the “condition” there by putting you in a gray area.
5. Forget the deposit once you gave it to them . they will try the max not to give it back to you. Ofcourse you can test your patience if you ever need to deal with these guys. :)

I\'m not sure weather this is a just a money making scheme for Madisons but I am really starting to regret signing a 12month tenancy with them.
I wouldn\'t advise anyone to use this company as they are a complete JOKE.
As for my deposit.......well I had to call them and let them know to put in into a TDS.......and that took them FOUR, yes FOUR months to do so and considering I know I\'m paying over the odds on rent, and stupid me gave him a deposit of £4000 (yes I know, stupid me!) I\'m really starting to wonder if i will get my money back!
