My name is Robert Andrews; I am a member of senior management at Madison Brook heading up the Management & Finance team, but most importantly ensuring the continued levels of customer satisfaction to our clients, whether you are a buyer, tenant, landlord or property owner.
I would like to take this opportunity to make clear that Madison Brook strive to offer the most excellent of services; part of this commitment is our membership to The Property Ombudsman Service under the Consumers, Estate Agents Redress Act 2007. These chaps are a real pleasure to deal with.I rented a property through there Docklands branch with daniel, who listened to my requirements, asked relevant questions and managed to show me three suitable properties. I initially wanted the first one that they showed me, but it transpired that this one had been rented through another agent so I took my second choice. The paperwork was tied up within 72 hours and I moved in at the next available opportunity.

I had my property on with Madison Brook amongst 2 other local agents, in my mind this was a test run for me as I had heard bad press amongst friends about this company but very happy I had the chance to judge for myself. I dealt with a charming young man called Daniel. He was extremely polite and informative and did exactly what he said he would do, which is refreshing considering both the other agents and others I have dealt with in the past are just after the quick pound note and forget all about service of which I am paying them for. Not Daniel, he was honest, approachable and knowledgeable. Very pleased I chose Madison Brook and very happy they found my tenants – professionals, with outstanding references. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY
Unfortunately I let my property through Madison Brook...
- communication poor or non existent
- inventory was useless - ended up having to do it myself
- refused to pay me the rent my tenant already paid them. It was 5 weeks over due by the time I got it and they only paid because I parked myself in their reception and refused to leave without my money
- this months rent (which has also been paid to them by my tenant) is now 10 days overdue and they are refusing to respond to me

I am renting a property managed by Madison Brook for last 16 months.
They were good while renting out the property, everything was very smooth. However, they are very disappointing when it comes to repairs. After staying in the apartment for about 10 months, there were a series of repairs that were needed. When the contract came up for renewal, I was assured that all those repairs will be carried out. It’s been more than 5 months since that promise and they have not been completed after calling them, visiting them and emailing them innumerable times.

I was looking for a property to let so contacted Madison Brook, Mr. Daniel Juttner showed us a property in royal Victoria Docks London E16 telling us that the flat will be vacant in second week of march,confirming that we released the deposit payment of £500 next day.
After almost a week, We called him to ask when can we sign the contract,it is then that he informs us that the current Tenant in the property is not moving out on informed date and so the property is not available anymore.This news was broken to us when we had less then a week to move out, after going through all that according to their company policy they will only return the deposit money after 21 days which till date i have not received its more than 40 days now.
After repeated attempts to follow them up via email and phone calls, they wear highly unprofessional and would hardly any respond or effort to put us through a proper accountable authority.
Highly disappointing.

It's been over 3 months since I had paid the initial holding deposit and we still haven't received the money back even when the landlord rejected our bid the next day. Even after dropping 'n' number of emails and chasing up with them, never got a response or money back. Terrible agents. Please stay away from this agency.

If you're reading this, it's probably too late because you've been stung, BUT... just in case.
My colleague and I paid Madison Brook the full moving in fee, as we were told our offer had been accepted, however, it hadn't. The deal fell through, and we spend month after month trying to reclaim the money (several thousand pounds). In the end, we had to chase MB through the courts, and only after a successful claim against them and the thread of enforcement did we get our money back.
I ended up keeping a spreadsheet of all communication attempts to them, by the end of it there was over 70 phone calls, 25 emails, several letters... an absolutely despicable company, I'm shocked they're still allowed to trade.
Full disclosure: this all happened last year.

These guys appear very professional when you speak with them over the phone and I was impressed when they found me tenants when I first used them.
Last November I approached them again to find me new tenants, which again they did. As one of the tenants was newly qualified graduate without income they took 6 months upfront rent for one person (in addition to the one month upfront rent for the other person and 6 weeks security deposit). Awful agency.
I find it interesting how so many people have paid for "featured 5 star" reviews of this company isn't it. I guess they feel loyal and want to improve their business. Yes, that must be it. Look at the one reviwed by Mrs Oliver. She says shje will be returning in the new year to use them again. Oh what joy!
Used them a while back and had problems with my deposit. Same as the previous agency who occupied that unit. I should have known betterm and listed to more people on this site. But I didn't know about it then.

Very cautious after reading some of the reviews on here! The level of service was (as stated in most of the reviews) was initially outstanding. Very polite, very professional and made me feel quite at ease BUT I was still wary due to the negative comments on here.
Before leaving a deposit, I read through the contract I signed - the staff clarified anything I was doubtful about and all was successful.. I never received any of the negative service after I signed as some of the others on this site seem to have - hence why I thought the agents deserved a post from me. I dont usually waste my time posting on sites like this, but I cannot believe how fantastic madison brook's service especially after expecting a disaster (from reading some reviews here!)
Would definitely recommend their service!

I am extremely happy with the service that I have received from Madison Brook. I own a number of properties and was taken on by a rogue agent prior to using their services.
Madison Brook manage two of my properties in the Docklands and they have proved themselves efficient, courteous and professional. My rent has been paid on time every month, my tenants have been extremely impressed with them on check out and they fix the maintainence issues swiftly and within what I consider to be reasonable cost.
I have no problem recommending there services on this website.

I have found this company to be unprofessional throughout my dealings with them. The customer service we have received from them has been the worst I have ever experienced from a company, with a distinct lack of communication from their side and a stream of blatantly misleading information coming from different members of staff. I thoroughly recommend that anyone thinking of renting / purchasing a property through this agent thinks again unless you wish to receive extra hassle and incompetent staff.

I found a house through this agency that I wanted to put a holding deposit on. First, the card reader in their office wasn't working so they basically just told me to get as much cash out of my account as possible. I gave them a small holding deposit, which they assured me would be returned if we lost the house. The landlord rejected our bid (although before the agent told me this, he tried to get me to give him the remaining 300 pounds in cash of the holding deposit) and I was told that my deposit would be refunded to me within 21 days. That was 54 days ago - and counting. They have been completely unhelpful and uncommunicative during this process, even lying to me at one point, telling me the request had been processed and that the money was on its way, which it was not. They just strike me as a completely dishonest and unprofessional organization willing to take literally whatever they can get from you. I would deal with them only very very cautiously, and keep a record of everything they say to you.

Madison Brook (Mr Khan) whom took deposit from my tenant which never returned it back to me as the landlord. I now managed to get an order to recover the funds along with expenses. However, they still refusing to pay. I recently applied for "Warrant of Execution" and insolvency. Please warn all your readers especially the landlords not to use this company as they wont be around for long.

The company took a holding deposit when we made an offer to the property that they showed us. Later that day they called us saying the offer was not accepted we then made a new offer which was accepted. Then again we had a call 30 mins later saying the landlord change his mind and wants MORE money to what was accepted. We finally made a deal.
The next day we found out we needed a further £150 more for reference fee's on top of the £150 which we accepted for ref fee's.
We did not accept this and therefore want our holding deposit back.
They refused to give this to us. Staff on numerous occasions told us that they look after the interests of themselves and the landlords before tenants and potential customers, by this they state that as long as they get their money they don't care!
Please do not use this company, I have been in touch with watchdog!! and Trading Standards!! which have replied to us saying they have received numerous other complaints and now wish to proceed with our case to bring to them.

They seems to be a cheater. They took the holding depost from me for a property. After 2 months , when I was scheduled to move in to the property, just one day before they told me that the landlord cant give the property at this price. They tried to get £200 more per month than agreed price.
At time of showing the properties, they will call you daily to discuss your requirements and ready to show the property anytime, but once you have paid the holding deposit, they dont bother to care. Right from moving into the apartment till the check-out we have had problems with the agency. There is no response to your issues. They are there to sell only until you sign that agreement and pay the deposit to them. They don' t understand the meaning of 'Customer Service'. It' s been 4 weeks since I moved out of the flat and I still haven' t been paid the deposit back.

Anyone thinking of using Madison Brook should Google the reviews for Alexander Chase Ltd first - their old name. This was declared bankrupt several years ago after not repaying deposits and monies owed to many, many tenants/landlords. Madison Brook is simply a new trading name for the two partners whose business is based on ripping people off. Beware Madison Brook! As a tenant of theirs, I had to kiss goodbye to my deposit. Once the avalanche of withheld deposits and monies builds up again, the partners will declare this bankrupt and start again.

Very professional at the start of the contract and for a year I had no problems with them at all. However, since informing them I no longer wished to use their services I have been shocked at their lack of professionalism. Several months of chasing up trying to get my tenant's security deposit back finally resulted in an email exchange where we agreed that they would return the deposit within 7 days so long as I paid them an additional fee. I paid the fee immediately and yet they have still not repaid the deposit within the agreed upon timeframe.

It's been over 4 months since we had paid the initial holding deposit and we still haven't received the money back even when the landlord rejected our bid the next day. We called them continuously over the next month every single day and never got a response. Each time, everyone we would speak to would pass the buck around and it will go the accounts section in the end which always seemed to be either on holiday or on the phone. We were so disappointed in dealing with such agents as first experience in London. They have still not given back the money and I hope people read these reviews and get to know the real deal behind this company.

We made an offer to rent a property. Before our offer could be taken to the landlord, we had to put down a holding deposit. We did this via online banking (at their office) on Saturday (31st Aug). We were told that we should hear by Monday if our offer was accepted. Monday - we heard nothing. We paid for an apartment and the landlord pull out on the day of move in. Then proceeded over 3 weeks trying to get our money. It would have been fine if we were called for updates instead we had to call up to get news of the situation. This now became frustrating as we will call up and get no call back. The same was via email. We became increasingly concerned that we were told we can get the money back from them but they wanted the landlord to pay them first. They promised numerous basics like a break in the lease, a professional clean of the property, various repairs and then let me down and washed their hands of me, leaving me in a filthy dump.
