Avoid this incompetent company at all costs - whether you are tenant or landlord.
I have never been spoken to in such a rude, condescending, patronising manner in all my life. The staff in the lettings office in Haslemere are rude, unhelpful and totally incapable of doing their job.
We rented off them for 6 months and had countless dealings with their terrible customer service. Simple requests are questioned, they tell you it's not their job to deal with things they should be dealing with, they pass the buck to their colleagues, and sometimes they can't even recall having a telephone... Had Keats to let our property -
Discussed on a commission when the manager came for a survey,
the commission went up by 2% when i got the paperwork- i recalled the conversation, returned to the discussed rates.
This was a short time let and keats mentioned all the monies shall be paid upfront.
When i checked the deposit there was just the first month's and Keats kept the remaining money - had to chase them up after two weeks the money was sent to our bank.
Now the tenants left 4 weeks ago and i had given a clearence to release the deposit, the tenants yet to recieve the deposit and i am yet to recieve the bills which should come off the deposit.
they have not responded my last six emails.Calls - the same answer given to me ten days ago-
I shall vist the agent and see what they have to say.

rented from them for a year. Treat tenants like scum and try to take every penny off you. I was made to revisit the property solely to remove a smear from a mirrror (else my deposit would be deducted). Suddenly the professional cleaner clause payable by the landlord in the contract became ambiguous!

They were useless. I had a serious problem with mould and damp in the flat, and was told to buy a 'dehumidifier', the damp was so bad my duvet went mouldy! When I gave them a month's notice because of the terrible conditions they told me it would have to be six weeks because of the date I tendered my notice. They took seven weeks to return my deposit, 'because of the snow'. They aren't interested in dealing with problems and they were utterly unprofessional.

I have never received customer service like this before. This is a small office. I had made four phone calls over two weeks. Each time someone said they would call me back, but didn't! If this is the service you get trying to speak to someone, try and sell your house through them!

I urge you not to use these letting agents. Terrible service from start to finish. Messages never get passed on, they have a shockingly relaxed attitude to complaints and even slag each other off to you. Quite frankly I don't want to get dragged into their office politics. They were totally unreliable and only working for the landlord, trying to con money out of you at every opportunity.

The icing on the cake was when we came to the end of the tenancy and I asked a member of staff outright if I should close our gas and electricity account and she said "no, that's our job, that's why we manage your letting". 6 weeks later I pick up the post from the house to find outstanding bills and bailiffs letters for gas and electricity. When I asked her why she had failed to close the account she said "It's not our job to close the account, only to inform them that you've vacated the property". She also said that they just email the gas and elec suppliers, and that they often get this problem with unclosed accounts. I suggested they call these companies to ensure that accounts are closed and she said "that's not the procedure we have in place". This is just one example of their utter incompetence.
The staff in the lettings office will cause you nothing but problems, frustration and hassle if you rent off them or rent via them. Our landlord was so fed up with them that we kept the majority of communication between her and us and resolved things amicably - we've even kept in touch since moving on.
