Jordan's are fully licensed ARLA agents and have some unique and valuable products for landlords and tenants. The business employs 60 people over half have been with the company more than ten years and some for the full 20 years. Our clients enjoy speaking and dealing with the same people they know and trust.

Anyone thinking of renting through Jordans letting agency in Altrincham, then just don't! My daughter has just moved out of her rented home. We spent a two hard days cleaning the property before handing the keys back. Yesturday my daughter recieved a letter from the letting agent (Jordans) saying that they had inspected the vacated property and wanted to bring in professional cleaners as they had found the place left dirty! Spoke to many people who were all rude and obnoxious. I was lied to in several occasions with regards to getting the property up to the state that I was paying for it to be.
Months of trying to get Melanie (the DIRECTOR) to sort out the heating, the garden, the broken kitchen units, the broken front door many numerous other issues, I was purely laughed at.
From all the previous reviews, I wish I had read this prior to ever losing my mind and taking out a contract with them. Despite renting an over priced property for longer than I wanted to, I am STILL awaiting my deposit back and doubt I will ever see it. Glad that they are sitting pretty.Was this review helpful? Yes

We had many issues while using Jordan’s, A few examples (of the many) would be the broken heaters, cookers and smoke alarms. All of which are necessities within the home. The time that they took to deal with any of these issues was laughably slow, their ability to keep us updated on the jobs was nonexistent and the way in which they actually spoke to myself & housemate was, simply, rude.

I let the property as a 'newly renovated terraced house' turned out the builder who had done the renovation done a very poor job.
The house had never had a damp course but obviously as it had been papered and painted I did not initially see any problems...until they started to show - rising damp front and rear, rotten guttering caused damp in front and rear bedrooms. I was 3 months pregnant when I moved into the property...and after putting up a battle and getting Environmental Health involved (which they did not like) I have been allowed to leave the property, now 7 months pregnant and somewhat a struggle. I also told them they could use my deposit to pay the last months rent as I knew they would try and keep that too!! I was told that the landlord was taking the builder to court to recuperate his lost money from the renovation and therefore he had no money to do a dampcourse (in my opinion, not my problem)!!

While in property they naglected all of our needs radiator broke toilet was leaking and shower dribbled water, windows cracked floor had rips. the only thing they sorted out was the toilet and that was bodged and still leaks now and again. took money of us for stuff we didnt even have to start with worst company i have been a tenant for and has probably the worst customer service took them two weeks to tell me that they did not have my bank details to put my deposit back, they only realise because i rang them every day, then got assy at me because i said i was fed up!

I lost my deposit, they said that water damage had lifted all the tiles in the bathroom, the washing machine had broken, the bed linen needed washing and that the apartment needed a clean. As with other reviewers they were not there to check the apartment out before leaving. I hadn't touched the bed linen which was in a bag at the top of the cupboard because I had my own, the washing machine was working perfectly before I moved out and just magically happens to "break" three days after I moved out, there was nothing wrong with the tiles in the bathroom and I had spent the weekend cleaning the apartment so it was spotless and did not require another clean. Of course needless to say that I received no statement in writing from them of all of these problems with an account of how much money was spent, they just kept the whole deposit and I never heard from them again. Not recommended!

DO NOT USE JORDANS. They are actually ridiculous. They NEVER return phone calls. EVEN WHEN WE WERE WORRIED ABOUT OUT OF DATE ELECTRICIAL EQUIPMENT!!!! Even something as dangerous as this. Surely that is illegal. I have been promised PROMISED phone calls back and NEVER recieve them. Disgusting service. It took 2 weeks for them to fix our fire alarm which was constantly bleeping. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Never ever have I been so disgusted in the service of a company. STAY WELL AWAY.

Jordans did absolutely no maintenance on the property I was renting, we spent a fortune on fixing leaks caused by a radiator falling off the wall due to a damp wall and the pipe bursting. We called a plumber and Jordans have failed to reimburse us for something we notified them about months ago. We went through winter without any heating. They never return phone calls when they say they will. I now may seek legal action against them. When we gave them the keys back, there was no clarification of when we would get our deposit back, it's now been a month and I haven't heard anything, the staff are rude and impolite. Stay away!!

We were meant to move in on the Saturday. They sent us the agreements on the Friday evening. They expected us to agree to a mandatory 2%-6% rent increase if we remained in the property after 12 months. Their tenancy agreement stated that we would have to sign up to Sparks Energy for some strange reason. Also their agreements stated that we had to pay an admin fee of approx.

Jordan's Residential Lettings Ltd are the worst agent by far that I have had the misfortune of dealing with. My comments only repeat of those already made by others. The staff are extremely rude and incompetent and its funny how a number of things have been blamed on systems crashing. I had numerous problems with the property I lived in, one job I reported took over half a year to resolve and this was to simply replace a blind! In the process of this I had my own property damaged by workmen and did not see a penny of compensation for that!! In the meantime they are now trying to bill me stating the property was not clean when I left and are trying to bill for stupid things like crumbs falling out of the toaster, soap left in the drawer of the washing machine, the list is endless of the stupid things they are claiming for. I have not intentionally caused any damaged to the property and in all fairness the cleanliness was better than when i first moved in!! To any prospective clients of theirs - I warn you not to deal with them!!!

Beware do not use...
Very rude staff. Turned up unannounced. Made up things with regards to the property. Didn't pay back all deposit (even though it was agreed that full amount would be paid). Just absolutely terrible people and very rude! Would not recommend to anybody!Was this review helpful? Yes

My Husband and I rented a House through Jordans/Cheshire for 12 months and paid in advance. When we moved out after 12 months the agent told us they could not come to check the property as it was a Saturday and could we drop the keys in at the office and they would come on the Monday to check the property and send us our deposit back and like fools we trusted them. I had spent the whole weekend cleaning and even cleaned the carpets and it was spotless when we left. It was cleaner than when we moved in. I waited a week and heard nothing so I rang them and was told very abruptly that the House was dirty and in a mess and that they would not give us our deposit back. I told them this was a lie and asked that they meet me at the property to show me this suppossed mess! They, of course refused. We were very naive and have found out since that they cannot take all your deposit and they have to send reciepts of all work carried out and that we could have taken them to the small claims court. I had been a tenant for 12 months. I have made numerous complaints re the radiators in both of the bedrooms not working, bearing in mind I have a baby, and also the toilet seat being broken from the day I moved in. These problems were never rectified.
I have now moved to another property, NOT with Jordans! Before I moved out I spent 3 days making sure that I would be able to get my full deposit back, the property was left in an immaculate condition (in fact far superior to when I had moved in). I am a former tenant of jordans. for 6 months i put up with numerous issues (some very serious indeed). When i first moved in i was unable to use the private car park (this was blamed on my lack of ability to press a button - it turned out the fob was faulty). Since then a number of issues have arisen with the flat which the agency ignored or told me to fix myself. I was put in a catch 22 position where if i did not use their servicemen i would be charged, yet, when i asked for them to come out there was a prolonged delay. The final straw has been trying to get my deposit back. They are desperately trying to hold on to it and are claiming the flat was left in a mess despite 4 people spending 2 days polishing and wiping. Do not use this agent.

The service is appalling - I've had a few problems with the agent, but here's the worst.
After two weeks of moving into the property the hot water stopped working. I phoned the agent several times and requested for somebody to take a look. After three days a contractor came and after the visit I was phoned by Jordans who said; '

Never return calls - extremely unhelpful when you do get through. Once we moved into the property we discovered a whole bunch of problems, none of which they were very keen to fix. As I type this I'm wondering whether anyone has gotten into my home because the agents have stilll not fixed the front door lock over a week after someone tried to break in.

Extremely poor customer service. On a number of occassions when they said they would telephone back to resolve an issue, no phone call was made. it has taken 6 weeks, to date, and still we have not received our deposits back. A number issues have been blamed for this, busy period etc, but lets face it, if you cant return a simple deposit in 6 weeks what hope have you with the rest of your business.
I would not recommend or use Jordans ever again. The Manchester branch is an extremely poor company and tars the entire brush for me.
