We purchased my current property through Jones Robinson, Lambourn. We had all our dealings through Paula Rudge who was always available to talk to and accompanied me on all my visits to the property from the outset. She was able to guide us smoothly through the buying process which was a little tricky at times. There was a constant communication between us and Paula and we never felt uninformed of where we were at. The whole buying process which can be hugely stressful was certainly kept nice and straightforward and we were very happy with the whole service we received.

Jones robinson worked extremely hard to sell our house and secured 4 offers within a couple of weeks. Paul and Deborough then worked very hard to progress things, despite the first 2 sales falling through (due to circumstances beyond their, or our, control) and managed to steer us successfully through to exchange with our 3rd buyer! Both ensured we were kept fully informed of progress and obstacles and often called us during the evening to update us. It's been a pleasure working with them.

Anna Lyons of Jones Robinson lettings was fantastic at helping me find a property to rent I had some idea of what I was looking but not exact. Anna showed me a couple of properties which were not right for me although they were to the requirements I had given her, from these viewings she worked out what it was I really wanted. From this she took me to view a property that was perfect for me, which I have now agreed to rent. Throughout the whole process Jones Robinson have been very professional and efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

The professionalism and support offered by Jones Robinson was exceptional. My purchase and sale were made difficult and lengthy by a break down in the chain and various other hurdles en route and Jones Robinson helped to take the bumps out of the tricky path. From correctly valuing my property, achieving full asking price, carrying out the viewings and advising to remarket when the bottom of the chain collapsed through to completion, all communications were well advised and timely. I'm sure all estate agents can do a good job when the sale/purchase is straight forward and all done and dusted in 6 weeks, but I think the good ones truly stand out when the sale/purchase is fraught. Despite the bad reputation estate agents have, I actually found Jones Robinson the easiest piece of the jigsaw to deal with, and the party in least need of hand-holding.............if only all of the other elements involved in sales and purchases had been this easy. Many thanks to Paul and Deborah.

The sale of our property was handled extremely well by Jones Robinson and they kept us informed at all times.
The property sold within a very short time and should have proceeded fairly quickly and relatively easily however a slightly awkward purchaser made this process much more complicated than it need have been.
Charles Robinson did all within his power to maintain the sale and hasten the process along which thankfully completed prior to Christmas and within the short time lines originally hoped for.

Elizabeth Alden and Louise Varney of Jones Robinson found me the perfect house to rent in the exact location I was looking for. The whole process was made extremely easy for me; they successfully negotiated the contract in record time including the extras I asked for. They were professional and efficient throughout.

I instructed Jones Robinson to sell my property in August this year. I had three agents around to value my property and had absolutely no doubt in instructing Paul Evans from Jones Robinson to act on my behalf. Paul was a league above the other agents and had a professional attitude, but I also felt he was honest and would work hard to sell my property for the best price. The house was placed with Jones Robinson as they were used to good result when a previous property was sold several years ago. They are a high profile local agent with Paul Hodgson managing the sale of both this and the other property. His efforts on our behalf were first class and we had a sale within a few days at the price we wanted. When there were problems down the chain, these were quickly resolved and the sale went ahead again. Paul took a personal interest in the whole deal and helped with his wide knowledge of the industry when it appeared to be off course. Their advertising is first class and I'm sure that their efforts made the whole deal as painless as selling a house ever could be.

I sold my house with Jones Robinson earlier this year and now rent a property that is managed by them. In both situations I have found their service very professional and efficient. Their staff are knowledgeable, friendly and polite. Communication both verbally and via email has been exceptional and I have been regularly kept up to date with developments. Whenever I have required information it has been delivered in a timely manner. They pay attention to your indivual needs and provide 'little touches' such as calling me a few days after my move to ensure I was settling in to my rental propery without any problems. Overall Jones Robinson have made me feel like a valued customer and I would highly recommend them.

I picked Jones Robinson from 3 local Estate Agents as I felt they had a well laid out strategy for my particular situation. I was selling on behalf of my stepmother's estate and do not live locally. They were efficient and sold the property and did well to keep me informed on the progres of the sale. This property had a lot of interest and was sold without any difficulty for me, within a very reasonable time frame.
I should therefore have no hestation iin recommeding the firm.

The marketing, pricing of the property were conducted in a friendly efficient and professional way. The reason I chose them is two fold firstly I had experienced buying a property from them in fact the one I was selling 7 years later and the process was one I was extremely happy with so felt others would be to. Secondly they seemed to offer a better service at a better price than the other two agents that I spoke to. The impotant things in selling a property were handled brilliantly the marketing, the viewings and the feedback all from different staff and that in my opinion why the sale was concluded in a satisfactory way. Well done to all involved.

Although the property market has been depressed of late Jones Robinson did the best they could to find viewers for our house. Only during the school holidays did we have very few viewings, and we think that this was only to be expected. They were always keen to help and acted extremely professionally at all times. We were very impressed when, having lost one sale, Paula Rudge came up with another interested party immediately. Thank you to a very helpful team.

We sold out house through Jones Robinson when upsizing in the local area. The process was part of a long chain and there were several issues with potential buyers of our property. The expert management and proactive intervention of the agent, Paul Hodgson, ensured the sale proceeded and we were able to sell in time. Paul kept us fully informed of progress, was open and honest when there were issues and his detailed knowledge of the process and local market were invaluable. What stood out most for me was the pragmatic approach to selling the house. Many other agents had cited higher values for our house (and I guess, for them, higher fees) at a time when property prices were on the rise but Paul was realistic about the market and the time it would take to sell. Jones Robinson's fees were also reasonable and very fair, especially in light of the excellent service they provide. I would most definitely use Jones Robinson again for both buying and selling property.

From the moment I walked into their office I knew that i had made the correct decision in asking Jones Robinson to market our house. Everything was carried out very professionally. We were given very good advice which we listened to. This resulted in sixteen (16) viewings in one day, within a few days of the sign going up. Right from the first meeting I was impressed by the professionalism of their Representative.
The property was in need of redevelopment/modernisation and their recommendation was it was best marketed on the basis of 'Offers In The Region Of' for a short period in order to gauge the level of interest and then with (hopefully) multiple interested parties being invited to submit a sealed best and final offer.
The Agent conducted all viewings and I was always telephoned afterwards and given comprehensive feedback. They also attended whilst a survey was undertaken.
Their strategy resulted in a speedy sale at what I am confident was the best possible price achievable.
I appreciate it SHOULD be a given (but I suspect many people with experience of having sold a property through an Agent would say it doesn't always FEEL like it) throughout the selling process I never had any doubt that Jones Robinson were acting in MY best interest and striving to get the best price for ME.Was this review helpful? jI have let my property through Jones Robinson in Oxford for more than 7 trouble-free years. I have found them to be open and fair both with me and with my tenants, and I don't believe it's a coincidence that my tenants have always been good people. The experience and professionalism of Elizabeth Alden in particular is invaluable. Their service levels are excellent and generally exceed expectation or what's in the contract! I can't imagine you'd find a more flexible or expert team, and I value their advice on all aspects of letting, from how much rent to charge to how to handle queries from the tenants.

jCompared to the other agents in Newbury, Jones Robinson were a breath of fresh air!
Before chosing an agent to rent my home with, I rang all the main agents in Newbury to see how they they dealt with me potential tenant and to say I was shocked is an understatement. I would recommend anyone that wants to rent their home to do their research like I did. Anna whom I spoke to at Jones Robinson was the only agent keen to help and who made me feel like I wasn't an interruption to her day, in fact she was brilliant. Following her excellent customer service, I arranged for Paul Broomham (the Lettings Director) to come and value my home. He was knowledgable, incredibly helpful and totally understanding of our needs and requirements. We have subsequently let our home with Jones Robinson for the full asking price within 2 weeks of marketing and we are very happy with the service we have received. Jones Robinson made letting our property very simple and easy. When I was searching for a new home to rent in Newbury earlier this year Marc Gregory at Jones Robinson provided an excellent service. He listened to my requirements, showed me a shortlist and facilitated securing the property I wanted. Throughout my tenancy all the staff have been helpful and courteous when needed. They have also called when they said they would and done what they committed to. It's a shame that that stands out as so unusual these days. I would recommend them to anyone who needs an estate agent in the Newbury area.

We approached the Lettings office of the Newbury branch after receiving unsatisfactory service from another local estate agent. The change soon proved to be the right move: Mr Paul Broomham did a very professional job in advertising our house and maintaining excellent communication with us throughout the process of letting our house. Miss Anna Lyons has also worked very efficiently in processing the paperwork. We have nothing but words of praise for both of them, and we now regret that we have wasted our time with the other local agent.

Despite it being a very difficult market, their advertising managed to generate a lot of interest and we had a lot of viewings. One would rate an agent excellent if they sold your home as they would have achieved their objective. However, Jones Robinson were the third agent we had used and I can therefore speak from experience. They were excellent.
Estate agents are typically of a certain type. Fast loving slick sales people, very good if you are trying to sell a one bedroom flat above a knocking shop, but when trying to sell a property with certain charm, a different tactic is required, service, professionalism and knowledge.

I found the team at Jones Robinson to be friendly and effective. Shortly after having my offer accepted my buyer pulled out, I was delighted and somewhat shocked that Jones Robinson reacted with compassion. They spoke to the vender who gave me 2 weeks to find another buyer.
I didn't struggle to sell my house, though I didn't get as much as I expected from the valuations. One thing I did notice once I had signed up with someone else was how many SOLD signs Jones Robinson had around at the time. My agent only got 6 people to view my house (obviously that was enough), but more would have increased the likelihood of a better price. Paul Hodgson was brilliant! He asked us to trust him with a marketing idea - we did - and it worked. BRILLIANTLY :-) Thoroughly recommend him.

Jones Robinson acted for us in a complex series of sales (including a part exchange deal) at the low point of the market in 2008/09. Despite the challenging market conditions at that time, all staff worked diligently to attract interested buyers, and sought & passed on good feedback after each viewing, enabling us to adjust to meet market expectations. Excellent service. The market research to reach a sensible price was very comprehensive. Nice sales particulars and advertising. Sold the property extremely quickly for the asking price. Richard Login was a pleasure to deal with, and it is nice to have a mobile number for direct contact with the agent rather than having to deal with secretaries and answerphones. Aftersales team were also good, but perhaps not quite as 100% efficient!

We first used JR for the sale of our property in 2007 and the service provided was very poor which resulted in the withdrawing of our property from sale.
We placed the property with them again in December 2009 when Paula Rudge was the Manager of the Lambourn office. We cannot speak too highly of the service she and her colleague provided. We had many viewings which were always followed by an update. In a fairly difficult market we received an offer for the full asking price and moved in July 2010.

Through no fault of the agent but more to do with changes in personal circumstances and breaking chains, our sale and purchase was a difficult one but we received excellent care and advice from Charles Robinson and his team. Very pleased with the service received from Charles Robinson and his staff involved in the sale of two properties that my girlfriend and I have sold this year. One property sold instantly at the full asking price, the other I was trying to sell with a particularly bad tenant still in situe - Jones Robinson persisted on my behalf with good communication and the property did sell. Charles has gone out of his way to help us with the purchase of our next property, very helpful indeed.

I first contacted Paul Hodgson at Jones Robinson in 2008 when I was in the delicate situation of being separated and needing to live in the same house as my husband whilst gonig the the process of selling the property. We finally marketed the house in July 2010 and I will finally move, after a protracted conveyancing process, on 19th September. Having sold our house last year through the Lambourn office of Jones Robinson, I feel I need to share my experiences in my dealings with them. During a very difficult time in the housing market, Jones Robinson managed to deliver numerous viewings, some even before the house had been advertised on the market.
The house was sold quickly and for the asking price, and although there were some unfortunate hicups further back down the chain, the staff at Jones Robinson, Lambourn constantly had their fingers on the pulse and worked extremely hard to do their utmost to ensure the chain remained in place right through to completion. They maintained constant and professional correspondance with buyers, sellers, solicitors and other estate agents etc etc to ensure we all achieved the result we required. The service I have described was predominantly from both Paula Rudge and Deborah Tomlin, they were both outstanding and in my opinion went way over and above their duties.

As a new landlord I appointed Jones Robinson as letting agents after recommendation from a friend. The service I have recieved so far has been excellent and I couldn't have wished for more. Marc Gregory has been profressional while personable and has been very helpful making what could have been a stressful time as easy as possible. What more could you ask from an agent. A competative and reasonable valuation, clearest demonstration of facts and research of all agents seen, and a flexible and reasonable marketing period. I have used Jones Robinson to sell three properties for me between 2005 and 2011, this was initially on the recommendation of a close friend, and they also sold a couple of properties in 2006 for two of my children. I have also bought a property they were marketing. The service I received from them was second to none. I was kept up to date with any viewings, and feedback from same. Whenever I contacted them I was treated as a friend not just a customer. On each occasion their valuation was very close to the price achieved, on one occasion they achieved a higher than advertised price. I considered that their selling costs were much more reasonable than most other agents in the area, and the property brochures they produced were excellent. They also introduced us to a very efficient mortgage broker when our bridging bank loan failed to materialise at the last minute, and an offer of finance was with us within one day.There is no way that I would ever approach another agent to sell a property, and would hope that if in the future I buy another property it will be one they are selling.

I have just completed on the sale of my flat and in all my dealings with the staff they have been very open, friendly and efficient. It has been a long process, but that is down to the current market and the quirks of my property rather than their efforts. I can’t think of anything else they could have possibly done, even though my property is very much at the bottom of their price range they couldn’t have worked harder, even getting the flat featured on the front page of the local property news.
Everyone involved in the sale was very professional, but also nice to deal with and seemed to be genuinely interested in the property and getting it sold. Once a buyer had been found the member of staff who takes over at this stage went truly beyond the call of duty in order to keep the chain intact and the schedule on target, coming up with a creative solution to ensure we met an unreasonable deadline set by someone higher in the chain.

As a new Landlord I approached several local letting agents in Newbury. The lettings team at Jones Robinson in Newbury stood head and shoulders above the others. I had several meetings with Paul Broomham before appointing Jones Robinson as managing agents. Paul was professional, informative and extremely knowledgeable. Following several viewings, an offer for the full rental price was accepted within 10 days. I opted for the the fully managed service which enabled me to relax whilst Paul's team went to work with references, inventory, etc. The tenant is now in situ and I am confident that should any issues arise I am in safe hands. This agents unsuccessfully tried to sell my house. They are too big and dont have time to market properly or deal with vendors/purchasers properly. They claim a large coverage yet they were still unsucessful after 5 mths. Numerous issues including called their office phone rang out and went to answer phone during the day. It could have been a potential buyer! Valued the house then tried to blame me saying it was too high, they were meant to know the market. Service levels were shambles. I would NOT use these agents if you want to sell your house. I would actually avoid buying properties they market as it will end up being a bad experience.

Fell in love with a house, desperate to see it, they wouldn't let me without registering due to 'data protection act'?- didn't want to register as junk mail and calls offputting and new to another area so not sure if Newbury was right for me yet. Still wanted to see house, spoken to like total crap, they continued to refuse viewing without my details. Upon complaining to the owner of the company about level of service he was un-interested in my complaint, unwilling to provide a better level of service or an apology and generally rude and useless. Due to nature of all staff will not buy with them ever. Avoid.

I rented a house though Jones Robinson for nearly five years. I would never use them again.
They were ignorant of the law covering the area they worked in, had no respect whatsoever for tenants rights (in fact they treat tenants like sh1t, were dishonest and what I can only describe as 'anal'.
Despite leaving the house in immaculate condition they tried to with-hold part of my deposit. I started legal proceedings which they initially defended. They caved a couple of weeks before the hearing and refunded my deposit in full + court fees.
They dated an important date sensitive document falsely.
They were intrusive in wanting to inspect the property every 3 months. They then sent a report to the landlord on whether I'd done my hoovering or not, lol.
I have used other letting agents and had no problems at all with them.
Avoid, you will have nothing but problems with these people.

We booked an appointment to view a house and both liked it very much, we made an offer which they said the vendor would accept if we went up to what they wanted so we did and they said they would call us the next morning to confirm acceptance, in this time they had some how come up with someone who was offering more meaning that we no longer had the lead and that there offer had been accepted. Found the staff at the office very rude and unhelpful not contacting us when they should have, I now feel heartbroken because of the situation! It was as if they said they had someone offer more to get us to and then did not keep us updated on the situation leaving us in limbo! They are very unprofessional - we also thought about contacting the vendor direct - you can get their address from the HIPS document and then see if they have their telephone number listed. we decided not to. We were basically told if we upped our offer then it would be accepted to only find the next morning that they had accepted someone elses! Really annoyed at the way we were treated!

Exceptionally incompetent throughout. Letting process a farce, repairwork still outstanding after one year. It appears that this company has a culture of non service and non communication, regularly blaming all others (landlords, electricians, etc, etc) on own failure to deliver. Stay well clear!

We let our our home with Jones Robinson and pay a significant fee for their total management service that promises to take care of everything. This was fine while Jones Robinson had nothing to do except count their fees from the monthly charges. However, once they were required to do anything to earn those fees they were completely unhelpful and incompetent.
They failed to ensure our outgoing tenenats covered their contractual obligations, failed to follow up in simple maintanance tasks, failed to ensure the property was maintained in good order, failed to contact us despite many, many emails requesting updates on the status of out agreement, failed to inform us of tenant requests and failed to provide anything like the service they promised.
Keep far...far...away from them.

I really don't know where to begin!
Jones Robinson are so truly awful that I cannot decide where the line falls between their absolute utter incompetence and their sheer malice and bloody-mindedness.
After bitter experiences with Jones Robinson as a potential buyer for other houses (not to mention their utterly botched attempt to sell our own house), we actually succeeded in buying one on their books, but despite Jones Robinson rather than through or because of them.

These guys are in it all for the money... surprise..
6 months into my contract of 1 year I find a for let board outside my address!! Was in the house for 18mths while looking for a place to buy. When I moved out they hit me with all sorts of hidden charges and then took two and a half months to return my deposit blaming lost letters, emails and messages. could not look after a wendy house let alone lettings.

We marketed our house through Jones Robinson for 3 months and gave up after only 1 'quality' viewing, and this in a prime location and a very well presented house at the right price.
They even rejected an offer witrhout consulting us, and did not even tell us about it until I phoned to query what feedback there had been from a second viewing, since I had not heard from them 2 days afterwards.

 exposed holes in the long chain my buyer had behind her. Whilst the other agents were resting on their laurels thinking everything was hunky dory, Paula found the gaps and exposed them to the otehr agents and for our benefit oiled the wheels of a chain of 7. For that I will always be most grateful.
As someone who has sold a few properties, don't necessarily go with the agent that says your house will sell for more than the other agents' valuation. These agents will have your property on their books and then advise you to reduce your price. Whilst we may all want over the market rate for the property, it took three agents for me to realise that I should have gone along with their experience in the first place. Jones Robinson told lies, failed to keep promises, failed to carry out basic procedures and rounded it all off nicely on the day we finally completed by ringing me to tell me that the purchase had completed.
I replied by saying that I knew that, that I was speaking from inside the house and that I had taken possesion over four hours previously. They didn't even know that they had not been entrusted with the keys, and that was quite simply because no-one trusted them.
I could fill the server with my awful experiences of JR but, to sum up, I now know that JR stands for "Share on your Facebook Wall"){kind=logo}
