   We have found JM to be very reasonable to deal with, the fee's are cool and don't break the bank(unlike some) if their is a problem they do their best to accomodate, they have regular inspections which is good and they are a friendly team, I will be using JM in the future. Thankyou.

   Having rented residential properties for approximately 20 years around the country using various agency services, JMPS has been the letting agency that I have used for the last 61/2 Years in the South East based at Bracknell. Over this period of time there have been minor utility emergencies (JMPS staff have attended the property day or night to confirm any problems & contacted the relevant service providers or tradesmen), several tenants (the current tenant has been there for approaching 6 years) & yearly safety inspections which need to be complied with.    We have dealt with JM Lettings as a landlord - various offices - for several years and with their property management side for longer. We went to them after really nightmare experiences with another long established agent who really should be investigated.
   
   I do not recognise the company described in other posts. The basic administration of our business has been efficient and straightforward without problems. The staff have answered our questions promptly and politely.

   As landlords we have experienced a number of "the usual" issues with tenants. In each instance we have been advised professionally and courteously. We have been made aware of the cost of court proceedings with disputes.
   We felt that JM has also represented fairly the interests of the tenant to us - reminding us when required that tenants have rights too!

   When we had a particular problem with a tenant who failed to pay their rent they acted promptly and wasted no time starting the appropriate proceedings. This reduced our loss.

   I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

   I have been working with this office for several years. The manager and his team area unfailingly responsive and helpful. They throughly vet prospective tenants. They have good listening and negotiating skills. They always seek to balance the requirements of landlord and tenant. I am always kept in the loop and am part of the decision making process in the solution of the issues that do occur. As a result I have low turnover and good profitablility.

   All of the staff at John Mortimer are extremely friendly and helpful. As a relocation agent, my timings often get very out of schedule when I am on the road with clients and John Mortimer staff always shift their schedules so that they can fit me in. Superb!

   We have been with John Mortimer's for just over two months now. We moved into a spotless house, it was in excellent condition and virtually brand new inside. We were unfortunate to have a few issues happen straight away after moving in. These problems were sorted quickly; and I received regular updates telling me what was happening - so thanks to the maintenance support team!

   What a great service, we have been managed by John Mortimer for many years and I felt I must write as we can take good service for granted. Just recently we had problems with our neighbours tenants, the ususal thing or parking and noise. The staff at John Mortimer were great and managed to resolve this and kept me informed. Well done

    John Mortimer are unbelievable - I have never come across a company before to be so incompetent, negligent, inconsiderate and threatening. They manage the building I live in and since they took over it has fallen into significant disrepair, to the point that there have been serious health & safety issues, despite repeated requests from residents to address them. They just ignore emails and phone calls. When I tried to hold them to task, they became agressive, threatening, did not acknowledge any wrongdoing despite the hard evidence I put in front of them, and tried to make out I was the one creating a problem and not them! Completely shameless. I can only describe them as cowboys. However, someone mentioned making a formal complaint and then taking it to the Property Ombudsman (www.tpos.co.uk, 01722 333306). I shall do that and I hope that anyone else who had similarly appaling dealings with them will do the same. They should not be in bussiness.

   Unfortunately I too have had dealings with this company and have found their tactics bullying, threatening and totally unprofessional, even down to simple spelling mistakes in correspondence with them and spelling my name wrongly. Their check out invoices are exhorbitant and unrealistic and their threats of legal action are over the top. I would strongly advise anybody considering renting a property through them to think very carefully before doing so because of all the problems you could incur at the end of your tenancy with them. Going by what has previously been written about them you can say goodbye to your deposit for at start, let alone all the other expenses that will be in your final bill. I totally agree with the previous comments and you should AVOID AVOID AVOID. I am also in contact with katedisappointed because these tactics should be stopped and I would urge anybody else who feels this strongly to do so as well. I would give this company a minus rating if I could do so.

   Its such as relief to hear Im not alone and that there are more poeple out there who have suffered the same mistreatment from this company John Mortimer and will speak out. I have been in the process of dealing with them in such away I had to seeked legal advise. After many years of renting a property through them and been a reliable tenant who looked after the property at my own exspense and even spent money on the property improving it, was then produced a bill at the end of my tenancy of over £2000 in damages. Not only did they witheld my deposit they then threaten legal action on me. Bullying tatics, rip off merchants. They shouldnt be allowed to get away with this and cause such distress to innocent indivduals and families. Do not use this company only cost and stress will follow.    Unbelievably awful service. We were attracted to John Mortimer Property Management Ltd by their eagerness for our business and their focus on customer service. We really wish we had never come across them as they have been nothing but stress, expense and trouble. The staff were clueless about how to manage a property and we spent most of our time chasing them to get even the most basic things done like work out a service charge schedule or complete the company return.    We recently moved out of a property managed by JM Lettings and had a dispute with the Landlord over the return of the deposit. Unfortunately JM lettings appeared to be a little out of their depth when dealing with both parties. We must have received over 30 emails when asked for photographs of the checkout when this could have been done in one simple email. We were also cc'ed in on emails regarding the management of other properties that were nothing to do with us.

   John Mortimers property management, are only interested in making money from their customers. They are unable to organise management issues efficiently, can not produce true or accurate accounts, do not abide by their own processes and procedures. They have mislead our present directors and do not deserve to be in business.

   As experienced owners of a number of properties we concluded that their staff do not understand even the most basic and fundamental principles of Property Management. They make the most basic errors.

   We would give John Mortimer Property Management a ZERO for Customer Service / Relations.
   As far as the service they provide is concerned, and value for money, we would also give that a
   score of ZERO.

   John Mortimer manage the block in which I owned a flat which I have recently sold. Part of the reason for selling was the rate at which the building deteriorated under their management. They don't live up to their promises and they will do anything to keep a contract - very underhand. My advice is to avoid at all costs!

   These people are totally incompetent. They do not speak to each other, let alone their clients. They accused us of not paying their bills weeks after the payment had cleared their bank. To add insult to injury, they set a debt collection agency onto us (even though we owe them nothing!!) and even wrote to our mortgage company telling them that we had defaulted on our payment! They refuse to acknowledge e-mails, letters or phone calls. What a shower!! Avoid avoid avoid!!

   We were happy to find them but with time it changed. Now we are very disappointed and upset. We fulfilled everything what they requested (6 month payment in advance!) gave all paperwork, reference and money to them on time. They gave lot's of nice promisses but after we paid they suddenly forgot about all their promises and even did not reply to our e-mails. We love the house we rent but considering to find something else as soon as possible because we can see now that these people (at least at the Bracknell office) are not reliable. And we are worried in advance about our check out. We can just hope that they are not willing to put all the maintenance and cleaning/painting costs on us that should have been done before we moved in (and was promissed). If we have to live with these conditions at least we don't want to pay any extra at the end when checking out.

    I was let down by another agent so really desperate to find a flat, the staff made me very welcome, were friendly and efficient. They listened, made no drama's, found me a great place near my work, under budget and even met the tight deadline. I would highly recommend this company.

   This company tries to put stuff from the check in inventory onto the checkout inventory and then deduct it from your deposit. They also invoice for work that was never completed and if you have any maintenance issues, they charge you for the repairs too, when it's THEIR responsibility. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
