in the 2 months we were with Jeffries they got us 2 viewings, 3 if you include 2nd viewing from one couple. I accept the market is tough but as soon as we switched to another agent we were on 2 per week.
The real problems began when we changed agents. Jeffries delisted our property as the contract instructed, however a week later they began advertising it again. I called the Head Office number on their site, was assured it would be removed and nothing. Called again the following day and again assured would be removed withn th hour. The problem was that they were advertising my house for £5k less than the new agents therefore all prospective buyers would call them first. On the third phone call to 'Head Office' a female employee became irate and said it had nothing to do with her branch. Turns out, the number for Head Office provided on their website is in fact a number for just a branch. Eventually spoke to customer services and was told that the brach i was using was without internet and therefore couldnt remove my house! I asked what would happen if someone called Jeffries about my house and they would be toldthe house was no longer on the market! I obviously argued the point, saying that this is their problem and therefore they shoudl point potential buyers in the direction of estate agents actually dealing with th house. Was told that that would be giving someone else business. The word 'sabotage' came to mind. Spoke to Gary, Area Manager, who insisted no one was to blame but did agree that should someone call the office about my house he would refer to other agents. Incredibly, he admitted that 2 months prior to our conversation (May '09) Jeffries had taken on a new 'all-singing all-dancing business service for phones and email' and since that time (and I quote him directly here) 'Jeffries may have well not existed'. Great considering i had been with them for those 2 months, Fed up, I called rightmove directly. Very amiable and told me that this was common ploy used by agents and that the house could be removed. She took Jeffries' number and said she would call personally and talk them through process. Just as I hung up Gary called saying HE had spoken to rightmove and there was nothing that could be done until the brnach internet was working again in 5 days! I explained that I should get off the phone as a representative of rightmove would be calling him to 'help'. Ten minutes later, the house has gone and wouldn't return to site, according to Gary. This was on a Friday. Saturday morning, surprise surprise the property is back on rightmove. Called local branch at 9am and was told manager of branch would call back but no call. Monday comes around and spoke to area manager Gary again, by 12.30pm property was removed.
It's a week later, the contract officially ended on the 2nd, this trouble started on the 14th, it is now the 25th and the property is back on rightmove, albeit without pictures but people will still call them first as it is same location and description as other agents but at £5k less. It's a bank holiday and I can't get hold of them. I advise people not to go with Jeffries.
I also advertised a flat with them to let. Although they eventually did rent it out, the flat had been recently refurbished throughout yet they managed to advertise it with the wrong photos, unfortunately of a far inferior property so instead of seeing thebrand new bathroom, potential tenants saw a dusty-pink suite with no shower and scale and dirt everywhere. Jeffries might be cheap but as the area manager said 'they might as well not exist'. Negotiate with another agent and get a good price elsewhere.

I did not sell through them. I had to chase them constantly for feedback and infomation. I was lied to about a buyer, and even when I confronted them they denied it. Even a complaint to the MD did not get a response.
