I have been a tennant of Isaac Anthonys Liverpool branch for a few months. I found them very helpful and the girl even came on her day off to show me the flat because it was the only day myself and my boyfriend could do. she answered all our questions and called me back with any she couldnt answer straight away. When she was checking out the previous tennant she noticed some problems with the couch and bed and so called me and waited in the flat for me to arrive so i could see the problems and to let me know they would all be fixed. the previuous tennant had been there for years and so the wear and tear was expected and they refunded his deposit even tho he had offered to pay for the couch. when we moved in we had an issue with marks on the carpet I called anne marie and told her and the very next morning somebody was there to clean them. Ive had no problems with them and would recommend them to most people i know.
most of the bad review are from the manchester branch which is no longer affiliated with the Liverpool branch or so im told.

I have recently rented an apartment from Isaac Anthony. The service I recieved from making the original enquiry to moving into my apartment was so efficient. I am really impressed with the personalised service they provided. I would recomend Isaac Anthony to anyone looking to rent in Liverpool.

i was employed as a contractor by issac anthony and dealt on a daily basis with asma naureen and their maintenance dept.
the policy of customer care was hap hazard and flippant with policies being changed on a daily basis, all to the detrement of the tenant. They are very irrisponsible and are extremely bad with money, i could go on forever about this so called company but my advice would be to stay a million miles away from them and find a good reputable company.lokat thier customer rating and make your own judgement.

I'd really like to discourage people from ever using this agency's services. I have never encountered more unprofessional, unreliable and rude agents in my life.
I was informed one week before the planned move into a property I had secured through Isaac Anthony that I will not be able to move in because they did not confirm the notice that the previous tenant had given, their situation nor the exact date. Arranged a viewing for a flat at 2pm. The day before the agent called and changed the viewing tim to 10am. Next morning, wmissed a call and got a voicemail from Isaac Anthony employee at around 9.57am saying she was 'running late'. When I called back at 10 she was still in the office said she couldn't come until 10.45. This was no good as we had another viewing at 11, so she begrudgingly agreed to come then and said she'd be there in about 20 minutes. We waited in the rain for 25 minutes. While we were waiting we read some of the reviews of Isaac Anthony anyway so were already fairly sure we didn't want to rent with them! When the agent finally arrived she did not have the fob or code to enter the building so she spent a further 10 mins or so on the phone to her office trying to find this out. When we finally got into the property she couldn't seem to find the flat, going to the wrong floor etc before finally finding the flat. Heaven knows how they behave once they are getting your money if they cannot be bothered behaving in a professional manner towards potential customers.

Myself and partner rented a property in LEEDS with the manchester branch of this company.
We should have realised what a disaster this was going to be when they made us travel to manchester to pick up the keys on moving day and then provided us with no fobs.
When we arrived at the property we found that none of the security gates worked and none of the secure doors actually locked securly. One of the lifts didnt work for our entire stay (6months) even though we were told it was due to be fixed. Come to think about it we never actually recieved our fobs.

For over 2 weeks I have been trying to view a property in Liverpool City centre with this company after already viewing one property when the agent was 45mins late.
I have never had a call back regarding the new property and when I finally chased them I was spoken to in the most disgusting way by both the manager and below.
I have never been spoken to in such a rude manner and then told that I am not a tennant they would like.
What rubbish i have been an outstanding tennent in the past and only looking for a new property due to relocation.
LANDLORDS BE AWARE IF YOU WANT YOU PROPRTY MARKETED AND ALLOWED VIEWINGS BY GENUINE GOOD TENNENTS THEN STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I will most certainly go out of my way now to raise this complaint further and contact the landlord directly.

The government should have a star for the letting agents like the hotel have stars. Also by law they should have a review from tenants and landlords, so everyone who wants to rent or rent their place out through the agents can find out about their services and how they run it.

Told us we had to pay for new sofas and carpet cleaning because we had a cat. yes the cat ruined the sofas but one of the sofas was broken when we moved in which they did nothing about. they have kept all our deposit and not contacted us since we said we were happy to pay for one sofa, but not the broken one, and find somebody cheaper to clean the carpet, as they suggested

This estate agent is the single worst one I've ever come across, and I've had troubles with other agents before.
Problem 1: We told them the intercom was broken the *day* we moved in, still not fixed 8 months later. I even know what's wrong - but can't get them to bloody fix it.
Problem 2: The flat was filthy when we moved in; Mould growing on windows, carpet black with dust.
Problem 3: 6 Month tenancies - Don't be fooled, this is just so they can charge you an extra

To warn you, this is going to be quite long!!
My flatmate and I moved into a flat managed by Isaac Anthony around October 2009. The woman who showed us around the flat was very nice and helpful but unfortunately once you have signed the lease you receive a very different service.Our first problems included a broken washing machine which on the inventory was listed as in perfect condition (the handle was missing and the cable had been chewed through by animals) so it was clear no one had had a very good look around. My boyfriend and I are first -time renters and when we viewed that flat we're in now we were amazed at how nice it was, and how nice the people at Issac Anthony are.
Problem 1 - The flat is on the third floor (six flights) and lift is broken. Because IA own the flat and not the building, it apparently is not thier problem, and we are not allowed a rent reduction until the lift is fixed. It's been broken since before we viewed the flat, and we're not hopeful of it being fixed in the next year, never mind the next few months. Try carrying heavy furniture up 6 flights of stairs on moving day.
Problem 2- When we went round the flat taking pictures of marks, broken things etc, we noticed bird facaes almost everywhere. Pets and birds are not allowed in this flat, but when viewing the flat we saw that the previous tenants had parrots. So we had parrot poo all over our cupboard door handles, doors, skirting boards, dining room table, couch etc. Absolutely disgusting. We complained,. and the girl at IA said that she'd charged the previous tenants

The service is fantastic until you take the keys then the comunication becomes non existant, you can actualy here the derisory tone in the voice when they talk to you.
They entered my property to do a routine inspection without giving me notice or without me even being there (thankfuly a friend was staying) when he heard them coming into the property, I made a copmlpaint but as usual didnt get a reply.

We decided to give them a go as we had to move out of our previous house quick due to an awful student landlord and they seemed really helpful... big mistake.
Because we are students we had to fork out a large deposit for a guarantor, I have never had a problem with paying rent or with money so I can't see why I needed to get my mum involved.
We moved into our flat in January 2010 and we have never received a metre reading from them, so we have had to pay and remaining bills from the previous tenant. They claimed they couldn't get into the metre reading cupboard but it was unlocked the... (read more)

Simply terrible service once you are a tenant with them. We waited for 8 weeks for a fob to get into our building, meaning we were left stranded outside until we could tailgate in. Then they took the money out of our deposit for it. Took 4 months to fix a washing machine that was leaking and spoiling the floor! We're moving out soon, no doubt that will throw up endless amounts of trouble with the deposit... great!
Try all you can to avoid this agent, they will not look after you.

Stay well away from Isaac Anthony lettings - a shambolic outfit who offered us nothing but a bad experience.
Even gaining the lease was problematic despite excellent credit history and both working for financial institutions - the problem came in that they never returned phonecalls and never acknowleged paperwork received.
I was at such a loose end, I even drove from Glasgow to Manchester just to hand in paperwork, despite sending two copies, they claim it never arrived!
Absolute useless. The emergency number they gave us, we had a water leak, was eventually returned 6 days after the emergency, needless to say we got our own engineer.
Grr.....they make me so angry!

I have just found Isaac Anthony and would recommend any one with a small budget and wants support finding a home in the city to go to them.
The are very supportive and provide great flats.

Never or ever try to get apartment from them!!! They are the worst agent I ever saw. The lady who follow our case was so arrogant, I just coming to rent an apartment, not beging her for anything. Why she can treat us like we begging her? We were about to sign the contract, but my friend remind me that I should check the house again before sign the contract. Where do I start?
LANDLORDS - PLEASE READ:
As a fellow Landlord, one our worst fears as a Buy to let owner is leaving your property in the hands of an incapable, shambolic, unregulated and clueless Managing Estate Agent. Isaac Anthony fit that awful description, in their words, unusually well.
I cannot begin to describe the frustration and absolutely terrible level of maladministration that I have suffered by their incompetent staff.

I would only recommend this company to people who like to have their time wasted and to be ignored!
Everything about them was appalling right from the beginning. We were shown around a flat (renting) and made an offer there and then and were told we would be called within the hour to say if it had been accepted. 2 days later, we still hadn't heard anything and nobody would take our call. Eventually we managed to speak to someone who said our offer had been accepted straight away but the man who showed us round was sacked and nobody bothered to take over his work.

A totally rubbish letting, don't use them under anmy circumstance, they are unhelpful rude and hang up on me everytime I call them!
They do not reference tenants and usually accept fake ones and then don't even tell you when the teant has moved out!
Totally diabolical and shame to law abiding citizens.

As the rest of the tenants on this website, I have also had a terrible experience with Isaac Anthony. They are incredibly useless at what they do. The customer service is terrible and if something breaks it doesn't get fixed no matter how many times you email/phone/visit the office. Don't rent from this company, they need closing down!

Isaac Anthony are shamefully terrible at what they do.
We rented with them a year, during which time they failed to acknowledge any of our complaints and ignored all requests for maintenance or repairs.
They refused our wishes to move onto a statutory period tenancy, and made us pay fees to continue to our lease.
After a year, they have now tried to raise the rent, despite the fact that larger flats in our building are listed for less on their own website.
Don't let with them! If there were a no star rating, I would have chosen that.

Once I'd agreed to move into a flat, I went to the flat to collect keys and sign forms...
...and after waiting I got told I had to go to the office to sign, collect keys and then if anything was missing from the flat I had next to no time to report it.
All problems I've reported have gone unheeded. I've never spoken to the same person twice and they just do not reply to emails - even from addresses that they've emailed me from!
They have literally done bugger all for me, and are by far the worst agents I have ever been with.

Deposits at Isaac Anthony are held with Deposit Protection Scheme which is an independent organisation which protects both Landlords and tenants against any deductions or damages. If any individual disagrees to any decisions they can utilise the Deposit Protection dispute system which will request information from all parties and make a independent decision. It is a fair system which protects both landlords and tenants
I , Like you Tony where their first maintenance company when they came to LIverpool... Total rip offs.. Telling us to make jobs up that wasnt there. Them telling us how much to charge so they could put there comission on.. They agreed on a 2 week turn around payment date. When that was due they changed their minds to a month..When that was due they tried to change it yet again to a 60 day turn around..That for us was enough... Tried called Asma and Anthony , Never got a reply,.,. However I did get a payment off the company some time later..Albeit £300 short of what they actually owed and do infact STILL owe us... Just felt so sorry for all the tenents who have gone with this mickey mouse company !... If you are a LANDLORD / TENENT / MAINTENANCE CONTRACTOR , STAY AWAY !!!

The building we later found was full of people who were smoking what smelt like weed constantly. The flat near us on the forth floor got broken into in the middle of the day (so much for a security team on site).
The water was cut off for 3 days, fair enough they let us know and they provided portaloos and showers (in the courtyard) HOWEVER the hot water wasnt on in the morning so you had to shower in freezing cold water. They provided bottled water by placing it outside of each flat. Some wonderful person stole ours, when we went to security to ask they simply said 'oh it must have been stolen theres nothing we can do' UMMM hello its your legal obligation to provide drinking water.
The list of problems goes on and on. We moved out mid december and are still awaiting our deposit which no contact from them regards when we will be getting it and countless promises of calls back.

Do NOT let them get away with this, contact www.thedisputeservice.co.uk/ . I did and got my entire deposit back. Isaac Anthony (aka Volta Ltd) disgust me and I genuinely do not know how the Boatengs sleep at night.
Me AGAIN! The intercom is still not fixed, now nearing the 11 month mark! The oven was fixed after 2 weeks of not having one. Avoid at all costs, people!

It's been broken since before we viewed the flat, and we're not hopeful of it being fixed in the next year, never mind the next few months. Try carrying heavy furniture up 6 flights of stairs on moving day.
Problem 2- When we went round the flat taking pictures of marks, broken things etc, we noticed bird facaes almost everywhere. Pets and birds are not allowed in this flat, but when viewing the flat we saw that the previous tenants had parrots. So we had parrot poo all over our cupboard door handles, doors, skirting boards, dining room table, couch etc. Absolutely disgusting. Also, after 3 emails and 3 months of asking for a lightbulb, the reply I get is "we are waiting for your next rent to send a contractor round"... I don't need a contractor! I've paid rent twice since I emailed them!!!!!! All I need to know is what type of bulb it is as it's not in shops!! I hate them.
I'm sure it won't be long before you hate them like the rest of us..

Who runs this 'Organisation'?? The Circus??? I will - when I have more time - look at reporting Isaac Anthony to Trading Standards or a Govermental Fraud agency as they advertise all sorts of services, charge you for them and then deliver none. That is the truth, my experience is summarised below.
Isaac Anthony claimed to have 'managed' my property for nearly a year - a brand new apartment - handed back to me dirty, damaged and with umpteen faults. Not only did IA not notify me of the faults as and when they happened - they told the Tenant's 'they were dealing with them and the Landlord was being unco-operative!!! Where was your flat, i was renting one in Liverpool and it was clean when I left and everything ws in place. They do their checkout and say there is a wardrobe missing??? Needed cleaning??? Items missing that we never seen??? And charge us
Doubt you'd be able to get hold of him! I rented with I.A for a year and only ever got a girl playing dumb on the end of every phone number!
 and made an offer there and then and were told we would be called within the hour to say if it had been accepted. 2 days later, we still hadn't heard anything and nobody would take our call. Eventually we managed to speak to someone who said our offer had been accepted straight away but the man who showed us round was sacked and nobody bothered to take over his work.
Then came the application forms... we sent these off as soon as we received them as we needed to move in within a month, which we had been told was fine. We heard absolutely nothing from Isaac Anthony after sending off our forms and again, could not get hold of anyone (just got a receptionist acting dumb saying that nobody was in to take our call and someone would call us back, which never ever happened). We had no idea if our applications had been approved and since we were moving 200 miles to a different city, we were getting very worried, especially as we both had new jobs that started 2 days after we were due to move in. Eventually, a few days before we needed to move in, we got a call saying everything had been approved, the woman acted really casually as if there was nothing wrong with leaving people in limbo like this.
On the day we moved in, we signed for 14 keys, 2 copies of every key needed (or so we thought). We had no back door key whatsoever, and half of the keys didn't work for any door within the property. We also only had 1 copy of keys for all the other doors and were told to copy and pay for these ourselves, even though in our contract it said we were not allowed to do this.
After 3 months of living there, our washing machine broke. It was another 4 months before we managed to actually get someone to look at it, and this was only after a threatening e-mail. Then it was another month and endless chasing before we managed to get it replaced.
We had been living at the property for 8 months before we managed to get them to cough up the back door key.
What was strange was how it was so difficult to get hold of anyone at Isaac Anthony, but if they needed you, they would bombard you with e-mails and phonecalls. It was 2 months before our contract expired (we had to give 30 days notice of renewal) and we were getting daily e-mails saying we needed to get in contact with them straight away to make sure all the paperwork was sorted. Needless to say we left it until the last minute to give them their answer.
They will often give you just 24 hours notice that they will be doing an inspection of your property, and they always make sure that this is done when you are at work. On our first inspection, they told us we had let our tiles get far to dirty and to clean them immediately (they were sparkling white, I had scrubbed the whole place especially for the visit). On our second inspection, they commented on a big stain on the bathroom floor (which was there before we even moved in, shows how observant they must be, luckily I took pictures of all faults when we moved in).
They have a maintenance man who has a key to all flats and lets himself in without knocking, once at 08:30am when we were in bed, to seal the shower screen in the bathroom, which did not need doing and we had not requested.
The only reason we stayed so long was because the flat was so cheap for it's location and it suited all our needs. We lived in constant fear of anything going wrong in the flat because we knew it would be a battle that lasted months to get anyone to do anything about it.
They promised no pets would be allowed in the building, however some had a dog that barked constantly and messed all over the grass and car park. The bins were rarely emptied, so often there was waste stacked up outside that got blown all over the car park.
