I have been impressed overall with Hamptons (Cheltenham branch) in the 1.5 years I have let my flat out through them. I feel reassured that my concerns are taken seriously and that the staff really understand and appreciate the point of view of a landlord letting out their own home. It is as if they take as much care as they would if it was their own home. Of particular mention is Dawn Clarke who manages my property with great sensitivity and respect towards both me as the landlord and, it seems, towards the tenants. We currently live overseas and have a property which Hamptons has been managing for us for 8 years. Lee Scowen has by far been the best property manager we have had. His attention to detail, prompt follow up, and throughness is very much appreciated. He is cheerful, polite and goes out of his way to deliver that last mile. Thanks to Lee, complex tasks are handled promptly and all parties have been happy with the outcome. This last year when damp proofing works were required, and access had to be coordinated including periods when the tenants were out, Lee successfully coordinated all parties through the process to ensure a successful outcome with minimum disruption. I have been looked after by Hamptons for my property (above) for over ten years. The management has been very good on the whole, some years better than others. In the last couple of years it has been excellent and in that time I have been looked after by Diane Skeer whom I would like to single out. She has been very effiicent, a pleasure to deal with and has given me a peace of mind with regard to the house. She was particularly helpful and pro-active in assisting me to obtain an HMO licence for the property which we now have. My experience with her has been the best one in the years I have been letting through Hamptons.With regard to the accounts section, on the whole the paperwork has been efficiently prepared and sent out but there have been several occasions over the years when I have not been satisfied. In the last few years it has been good.

we had many issues that where unresolved at the property we where renting through hamptons. Calls made regarding the issues where ignored and not dealt with how they should have. However, as soon as Elliot mchon was made aware and got involved he was excellent. He did his upmost to help us as quickly as possible and took total ownership in resolving our problems. Elliot was always quick to get back to any queries or questions and always happy to help. Always polite and professional,A true asset to the company and couldn't rate him highly enough as a manager. I agree with bb same is happening with us. Not at all responsive just dancing to the landlords tunes. Outstanding issues form before we moved in haven't been sorted out.

I had a very bad experience of Hamptons, they were very good at raining you in but then once in the property they were very hard to get hold of and were completely useless. They did not seem to want to help you out but more interested in keeping the home owner happy because that's all they need to do to keep the money rolling in once we had signed. DO NOT USE HAMPONS!!! THEY WERE A PAIN IN THE BACKSIDE!

Very poor service, wrong name on documents. Had to be resent 3 times. No gas certificate, boiler had gas leak which wasn't apparent prior to move. Many of faults had been reported by previous tenants but not fixed. No key fobs for automatic doors. Not worth the fee charged. Now deal direct with landlord.

I can say that Hampton's have been the absolute worst property management service I have ever worked with. We were pressured into signing a contract and once signed, they have virtually disappeared with the myriad of problems we've had in our flat. It has been an absolute nightmare situation so far and we will be getting lawyers involved very shortly.
Please avoid Hampton's or make sure you do your best due diligence.

I am sorry to report how shocking Hamptons International are.
They have tried to make us pay for things like replacing the drains and plumbing. They don't answer out emails. They make things up out of thin air. It's nearly impossible to get them to do anything. They neglect the property beyond belief.
I really can't stress how much I wish I wasn't living in one of their houses.

The estate agent was very friendly and helpful. She found the flat I was looking for and arranged a timely move in date. Julia, the property manager, is excellent. All repair requests were completed very quickly and easily. I highly recommend this estate agent.

I was looking for an unfurnished flat and the marketing agent showed me a flat which could be let on a furnished or unfurnished basis, was clearly stated on the information sheet. I agreed to take out an 18 month lease subject to the landlord removing all the contents apart from two sofas. To my horror, I moved into the flat to find all the old and dirty contents were there. The estate has now denied that there was an agreement and that the word UNFURNISHED printed in the information sheet was a printed error. What a joke and a disgrace for a reputable firm like Hamptons. I am in the process of taking legal actions against them.
Having complained this to a few people, I now realised that there are many people who have bad experiences with Hamptons, some of whom called them Cowboys.

I am a buyer and I have found both the Painswick and Cirencester branches to be the only estate agents who have consistently kept in touch and sent me details of properties they think I will like before they appear on the web. They remember my likes and dislikes, too.

It was a total fiasco from day 1 until 3 months after we left and still did not have our deposit back. They over charged us at the beginning, made a mess of the keys (we had only one set for the two of us for several days) and when we moved out they insisted on bringing prospective tenants when we were on nights and trying to sleep.

My daughter rented what on the face of it was a very nice flat in Pimlico in August 2009. Unfortunately the flat had not been lived in for some time although this was not immediately apparent at the start of the let. Quite clearly a property cannot be left empty for any length of time without major problems occuring with the appliances etc. This has been a valuable lesson to learn when renting a property.
Fortunately Hamptons Property Management was on hand to communicate with the overseas landlord and instruct contractors to put matters right. In this respect I would single out Mr Lee Scowen, Property Manager, for all his efforts in taking control of the situation. Lee has proved to be an excellent ambassador for Hamptons. Many thanks.

We had excellent service from Hamptons Dorking during the sale of our house. Their valuation of the property was realistic, not unrealistically inflated, and they had many potential buyers ready to view as soon as the house was on the market. We rented a property in south London which was managed by Hamptons between 2005 and 2010. Throughout that time they were nothing but helpful, responsive, polite and fair in their dealings with us. Issues were always resolved quickly and with the minimum of fuss. Valentina Gentili, our property manager, in particular was a pleasure to deal with - very professional but friendly with it. We'd have no hesitation in recommending Hamptons and should we become landlords ourselves in future they - and Valentina in particular - would be our first port of call.

I was letting a property through Hamptons International. Past experience with letting agents has always been a nightmare when it comes to moving out, inventory checks ect. I was amazed at the profossionalism and effiecieny Hamptons dealt with everything througout our tenancy. I dealt with Julia Seggie who was amazing. She went out of her way to sort out all issues btw us the tenants and the landlord and avoid an Unnecessary situation of going to court to settle our inventory dispute. WOW. I didnt think you still get people who are so enthusiatic to help and put the tenants worries and issues first rather than just shrug me off and pass it on to someone else, she went out of here way to help me and settle all disputes. I am so impressed with Hamptons. It Definitley pays to use a professional company this time round.

This agent has no regard for landlords or the property. We had 3 offices managing us, 6 agents in 2 years. No one has a clue in any office and staff turnover is constant. Substantial damage to house whilst in their 'care' and then tried to make out is was fair wear and tear. Inventory clerk is actually part of the same company and not impartial. Their contractors are not qualified and cause more damage to the property causing additional cost and stress. They lost both sets of keys to the house and seem to want to provide constant work to their own contractors. I would strongly advise to go elsewhere.

Kate Faber in the letting department Paddington was extremley polite and helpful. I would recomend her if you are looking for a property in Paddington. Her support staff Luciana was also a pleasure.

Wimbledon branch .Early mix up with collecting Keys and non fexible with times, but our property manager more than made up for that . Always a fast reply to a problem and always honest .

I had previously had my house let through Chancellors but after a frustrating few years changed the letting management to Hamptons and saw a big improvement. Angie in particular is very responsive and shows very good balance between keeping the tenant happy and looking after my interests. She is a pleasure to work with.

Emma Bonham was the managing agent of our house in Henley. She provided a very professional service throughout, always responded to enquiries timeously and was efficient and polite and followed up on every issue. We would have no hesitation in recommending Hamptons International in Maidenhead as property managers.

Unfortunately, we got off to a poor start with Hamptons international and initially didn't rate the service very highly. The house had many problems that Hampton's said they would sort out before we were due to move in, however these had not been rectified when we eventually moved into the house. However, I am pleased to say that everything quickly turned around when Emma Bonham came onboard. We were extremely lucky to have her as our property manager.
