I have been impressed overall with Hamptons (Cheltenham branch) in the 1.5 years I have let my flat out through them. I feel reassured that my concerns are taken seriously and that the staff really understand and appreciate the point of view of a landlord letting out their own home. It is as if they take as much care as they would if it was their own home. Of particular mention is Dawn Clarke who manages my property with great sensitivity and respect towards both me as the landlord and, it seems, towards the tenants. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hamptons if you really care about your property.

We currently live overseas and have a property which Hamptons has been managing for us for 8 years. Lee Scowen has by far been the best property manager we have had. His attention to detail, prompt follow up, and throughness is very much appreciated. He is cheerful, polite and goes out of his way to deliver that last mile. Thanks to Lee, complex tasks are handled promptly and all parties have been happy with the outcome. This last year when damp proofing works were required, and access had to be coordinated including periods when the tenants were out, Lee successfully coordinated all parties through the process to ensure a successful outcome with minimum disruption. Overall, Hamptons and Lee in particular, are well worth a try!

I have been looked after by Hamptons for my property (above) for over ten years. The management has been very good on the whole, some years better than others. In the last couple of years it has been excellent and in that time I have been looked after by Diane Skeer whom I would like to single out. She has been very effiicent, a pleasure to deal with and has given me a peace of mind with regard to the house. She was particularly helpful and pro-active in assisting me to obtain an HMO licence for the property which we now have. My experience with her has been the best one in the years I have been letting through Hamptons.
With regard to the accounts section, on the whole the paperwork has been efficiently prepared and sent out but there have been several occasions over the years when I have not been satisfied. In the last few years it has been good.

we had many issues that where unresolved at the property we where renting through hamptons. Calls made regarding the issues where ignored and not dealt with how they should have. However, as soon as Elliot mchon was made aware and got involved he was excellent. He did his upmost to help us as quickly as possible and took total ownership in resolving our problems. Elliot was always quick to get back to any queries or questions and always happy to help. Always polite and professional,A true asset to the company and couldn't rate him highly enough as a manager. Thank you for all your help Elliot, you made a very difficult time a lot easier for us with you great attitude and willingness to help.

   During the transfer period of old tenants to new, I was kept completely in the loop at all stages of the marketing and contracting and felt fully involved without having to take any responsibility. At the same time a couple of maintenance issues appeared which needed to be dealt with. As this is a "managed let" - again I was kept fully informed, in a very timely manner, so that I could make the appropriate decisions - but all action was taken out of my hands.
   This support is particularly helpful as we are not based locally in the UK. Thank you Sam and Dawn.

   I am a current tenant of this agent and right from the beginning they have been a complete nightmare to deal with.

   I agreed to let this property unfurnished and I only found out on move in day that they did not arrange for the furniture what was in the property was still there AND I HAD to arrange for it to be put in storage where they left it right until the contract with the storage company was just about to end, I had to spend hours on the phone dealing with them - trying to arrange for the items to be removed and finally on the contract they got it removed.

   I live overseas and have been using Hamptons International to let out my property in London for the last 3.5 years. I am very impressed by the level of professional work done by Hamptons, and in particular Valentina Gentili, who is my property manager. I feel completely reassured that both simple matters and more complex issues will be dealt adequately and only if necessary will be escalated to me. Hamptons simplifies my role as a landlord and that is the ideal condition. I find the relationship with Valentina also extremely pleasant and professional - she listens, suggests solutions and follows through what has been decided.

   I would strongly reccommend using Hamptons International to anyone.

   From a tenant's perspective I have never had such a helpful and responsive property manager to deal with. I arranged to check out from the property early and I can honestly say that the help Valentina provided me was invaluable. There was no question she couldn't answer and always went out of her way to assist me. She was polite and professional at all times but not in that cold way that estate agents usually are. She genuinely seemed to care about my tenancy and my requirements and for that I am very grateful. By far the best service of any agent I've ever used.

   I've had a pleasure to talk to Anna several times, and she's been a very helpful, warm, and open agent. She was professional, direct, and managed to make a personal connection that is so rare amongst the letting agent (but highly appreciated). She (successfully) negotiated a good deal with the landlord, which in the end I didn't decide to take only because I liked another flat better. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend Anna to all prospective tenants – she seems to be good in her job.

   The Hamptons property management division is fantastic. Our property manager, Valentina Gentili, was a delight to deal with for the 2.5 years we rented the property. She was super efficient, courteous, professional, personable and friendly. Every call/email from us was dealt with promptly and with a smile. I cannot sing her praises enough!!! Thank you Valentina!

   Hamptons have always responded immediately when we have had a problem. our contact, Diane Skeer, has always been very friendly and concerned that we have no problems with the property we rent. When we had a problem with our heating even though it was out of office hours a repair was arranged promptly so we were not inconvenienced in the slightest .

   DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!! They took my deposit from me and made my life an absolute nightmare. They accused me of not having the flat cleaned despite it being cleaned to a professional standard. Any excuse to screw you over and get their own cleaners in at an obscene cost!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They will take your deposit! I have spoken to a few friends now who have also had this problem. One of them faught for a year befor they got it back.

    They are currently trying to take ours even though the place is 10 times cleaner than when we moved in! They just want to make commission from their cleaners!

    Please please please do not use them!

    Awful awful company! They will try and take your deposit if you do not use their cleaners and will basically rip you off. Caroline in particular has no idea what the term 'customer service' means

    Worst estate agent I have ever dealt with in 9 years of renting!!!! DO NOT USE HAMPTONS.... (useless you want to be screwed for every penny and treated like s**t!!!) Their customer service is appauling. Their staff were rude, abnoxious, awful to get hold of, didn't sort anything out. They screwed us for every penny they could since day one, including rediculous 'admin' fees, topped off with wanting to keep our WHOLE deposit (very unjustified considering the house was in no worse state than when we moved in!!!). Their staff were so rude I wish I had never bothered at all, their respect for fellow human beings was disgusting!

    If I could give this agency minus stars I would!

    Useless and absolute rip off merchants! We paid over £300 for a professional clean, which they were not happy with. Our cleaners offered to go back for free, but they said no! They are now trying to charge us £250 for oven clean and skirting boards!

    They also said loads of items were missing, but when their (obviously blind or stupid) inventory clerk went back they had magically appeared!

    Stay away from this agency on all accounts! They will rip you off!

    I have been with Hamptons now for about 8 years and although being an absent landlord has its downsides, in that it's harder to control costs for maintenance, I have never really had anything to complain about and if there was anything Hamptons have always done their best to rectify the situation. Diane Skeer is very sympathetic to a Landlord's woes and has always been extremely helpful.

    We found Hamptons to be extremely professional with good levels of communication.
    There knowledge of the local market and potential targets was good.
    Nick van Klaveren was courteous and extremely helpful.If he was not available Paul was able to help and support our requests.
    Hamptons National and Company lettings knowledge also helped our cause.
    We would have no hesitation in recommending Hamptons and Nick as apoint of contact

    I have been renting a place from this agency for nearly 2 years here in Chalfont, Occasionally few problems arise which puts me in contact with Elliot McMahon & Tina Brown as well as the maintenance team. They have provided an excellent service and handled the matter very professionally with quick response. I would highly recommend Hamptons, particularly the Gerrards Cross office to others.

    I have been using this service for five years now and have the service beyond criticism. Elliott McMahon is currently looking after the management of my home while I am working for the British Forces overseas and his attention to detail is excellent. In fact all of the staff in the Gerards Cross office are always keen to help and make time to ensure I am completely happy with their service. I would strongly recommend this office to other landlords.

    We have dealt with Elliot McMahon at Hamptons since mid 2011 - he has been extremely helpful and efficient in dealing with any requests or queries we have had. I would highly recommend Hamptons as an estate agent that knows their stuff and who employs people who have excellent customer service skills.
