Tried to buy a house through them in 2008. No help or advice for first-time buyers whatsoever! Tried to bully us into getting a mortgage with them, sneering attitude.

Started off enthusiastic, but once we paid our sale fees their attitude changed to complacent. We had numerous problems with poor photos taken and incorrect text and this took up to 6 weeks to correct! Halifax are full of empty promises.

Bullying tactics were used during the sales process - we were threatened with them putting the house back on the market as we waiting for 3 weeks for the survey to be carried out on the property. This was the lender's responsibility not ours, so we were at their mercy. They were also very impersonal, with a sneering attitude.

Staff were impolite on phone
Staff waited less than 10 minutes for me before leaving a house to be viewed.Was this review helpful? Yes
