These people are a useless waste of space, they are supposed to "manage" our building - they are shocking in this role, I have never experienced such profound arrogance from people in a supposed customer relations role.
It has been impossible to deal with them in a sensible manner and the lessees cannot get legible and sensible accounts from them about how they are spending OUR money, despite numerous requests.
The lifts don't work - William Maugham in the Bournemouth Office denies knowing about the lift problem and states categorically that there isn't a problem with it.... (read more)

Moved in over a year ago, plumbing was not finished in the kitchen, after several phone calls and visits from estate agents,, nothing was done about it. Sink and draining board came loose and same again visits and phone calls and false promises saying it would be sorted by landlord nothing was done! They did give us a plumbers number from the landlord and when we phoned him he said he didnt even know or ever heard of mr **** (landlord)

Having dealt with these people I can see why there are so many bad reports about them. Initially it actually took 6 weeks to be approved for the let, they claimed they had never received the first set of references which all my referees confirmed they had sent out. So a 2nd set had to be sent. During the approval process no updates were given, and NO phone calls were returned when I called for an update. Also the girl dealing with it claimed to have NOT received 2 emails I sent her, asking for an update. Once everything was finally approved they then chased me wanting me to move in within... We have always found goadsby verwood to be professional supportive and intelligent. They know their market, they always feed back and upsell at every possibility. It's an expensive operation selling a house so why bother with second best? Well done guys good luck for 2012 :-)

Sadly we found Goadsby to be appalling both in terms of customer services and basic competence. On viewing the property we immediately agreed to take it, work was being completed and we were assured it would all be complete before the start date. We were also told that the property would not be marketed once we paid the large initial fee. This was not true, it continued to be marketed on their own website and they continued to show prospective clients around even though we had paid a holding fee. Our father died suddenly last year, leaving his property in Southampton to us. We all live in Norfolk so needed a professional and sympathetic agent to sell and keep an eye on the place in the meantime. The Goadsby team ticked all the right boxes and more - at no point did we feel the need to rush down to Southampton and check on the flat and they even read the meters for us when the place sold. Excellent service!

Not even worth the one star if you ask me! I was a current tenant with them in a student property, and they are the slowest, rudest people in the world! It took them over 6-9 months to fix the ariel in our house, over 3 months to fix the flooring in our utility room and everything else was going wrong from there! I thought to learn from my mistakes and never rent from them again, but I have. I am currently waiting to move into a house provided by them, but have been told that I may have to wait an extra week for funding to clear, they have given us 'bitty' information, they did not tell us in... EXTREMLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!
My pregnant wife made an appointment to view property, Goadsbys agent didn't show up. We called them and they said that the appointment was scheduled at a different hour so we went to the agency to find out what is going on. Their agent told us that they can go with us right now to show us the property and we agreed to met at the flat.
Please imagine that we went there once again and their agent didn't show up...AGAIN!! even after we had that conversation face to face 10 min ago. I called them again to find out that they cannot let us to view the propery because it is too late now. That was on Saturday.I called on Monday and they promised to call me back, didn't happened.
I am very patient person and I turned this situation into lauh, unfortunately it was worse with my pregnant wife!
Save yourself trouble and frustration and go somwere else.

A house in Chandlers Ford was on sale with goadsby. I enquired about it, asking to view and was told it was now tenanted and there would be no viewings for 4 months. That was two months ago. Now, on Rightmove, the property is listed as being sold subject to contract. So, goadsby failed me, a prospective customer, but - more importantly - it failed the seller because the seller does not know how much I would have offered for the house. I may well have offered more and I am a cash buyer.

Rubbish photos taken by a child. No communication between office during period of 2 months. No follow up from viewings. No strategic sales plan No appreciation of money spent in comparison with similar properties. Bullying tactics with regard to lowering of sale price. Couldn't sell sweets to a child.

The staff tell lies to get rid of you on the phone, they lie to the freeholder too - these managing agents should be canned, the sooner the better as far as I'm concerned. They recently unilaterally decided to change the locks and sent out only 1, yes 1 set of keys to the owners with no explanation as to why....I heard from Asset Trust that the building was broken into, now why did the managing agent, Goadsby not feel it was part of their remit to tell the lessees that? It is sickeningly bad mannered and merely shows how badly managed it is!
Come on Asset Trust - do us a favour and get someone else who knows what they're doing to manage the place.. this is no longer funny!

Cooker stopped working and so we phoned goadsby up and they told us they would contact the landlord.. After several more phone calls and a visit from goadsby more false promises were made, nothing has been done about it. Now this has what pissed me off the most.... A month ago we had strong winds and 2 of the fences in the garden fell down and the gate came flying off. (this was another issue i forgot to mention, it was half hanging off its hinges when we moved in, which was not sorted out oh and all so the bath plug did not work and they didnt come fix that either) so back to the fences and gate, after about 8 phone calls and goadsby came up with this excuse every time!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your landlord is very hard to get hold of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And another excuse was alot of peeople are waiting for new fences and they are not easy to get. What poor excuse is that. They r available 24/7 from many retailers!!
Now i want to end my lease 6 months early and move.. As im fed up of paying my rent every month on time and not getting the services from the landlord as promises. Hes broken his contract not once but many many times. So i inquired about ending my lease early and they told me i would have to pay £250 admin fees and carry on paying rent and wait untill they found new tenants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can understand why i want to move, so why the hell should i pay this.
And the visits were every 3 months only ( required for all tenants)

. By the way the reason I moved early was because Goadsbys were advertising a property too good to pass by.
Upon arriving at the office on move in day the contract was drafted for a year, as opposed to 6 months which was confirmed in my proposal letter! This did not bother be personally as I'm very keen on the property but WTF!
They also neglected to give me the alarm code which resulted in it going off on night 1 and the cops turning up lol. 1 E-mail fixed that though.
Three months later I get a call asking to arrange a '3 month management meeting'! No prior mention of this and nothing in the contract! Because they are doing a 'managed let' they want to come round EVERY 3 months for an inspection. The first one has now been done by a girl who quite honestly looked like she was ready to start the 'night shift' in Boscombe!

When we finally could go ahead with the contract sign up, a date was agreed and we were told we could pay the deposit etc electronically, which was not true. The day before sign up at 4.40pm we got a phone call to say that they could not now accept electronic payment and could we get a bankers draft, which we could not as all the branches of our bank were now closed and they do not offer counter services on a Saturday. On contacting Goadsby, the agent said oh yeah we get this all the time, we'll put it back until next week and you can sign then. Fortunately we had accommodation or we would have been in trouble. The following week came and we paid our deposit etc 3 days early to avoid any similar issues. On signing the contract, we were told specifically not to date it. The agent concerned could not answer basic questions about the tenancy, she did not speak to us other than to direct us where to sign, she did not allow any time to read what was being signed and on three occasions ignored a comment made to her, just pure rudeness, a very unpleasant situation to be in. After signing we noticed that the date was wrong on the agreement and it was dated one week in the past, we told the agent immediately, assuming that they had just gotten it wrong again. The agents words were, "tough luck you just signed it, goodbye". Unbelievable! Furthermore, on entering the property, it had not been cleaned, the toilet had been used and not flushed, the sink and bath were filthy, as was the kitchen and carpets. The garden was overgrown and the only gas heater in the lounge had been condemned so they just turned it off and said they had no plans to fix it! Thoroughly unpleasant and expensive experience. The most unprofessional agency ever. When we moved in into rented flat, we realized that the shower doesn't work at all. It took us 2,5 months until they fixed it. Now we have mould in our flat: on windows, kitchen walls, even in a fridge. They don't care. We started to have health problems - they don't believe that mould can be so dangerous. Don't rent anything from Goadsby Southampton.

Worst estate agent in Poole. I overheard them talking about a ridiculously low offer to some prospective buyer just because I had said that I was looking for a fast sale. They even denied this when I confronted them. They don't return calls, they're some of the worst sales people I've ever seen. Anyway they're history now. I can't believe how bad an estate agent can be!

Avoid.
Extremely unprofessional and unfair. We had an offer accepted and a move in date agreed to later have an old offer "resurface" and lose the property from under us. This should not be allowed to happen. Once the landlord has accepted and is happy with an offer no further offers should come to his attention. I am extremely disgusted and appalled at the ethos and attitude of this agent. Use at your peril.

Terrible service they gave me a draft copy of the contract to read before signing their copy, unknown to us the draft copy had pages missing. We signed their copy in good faith only to find out later that there where major deference's between the contracts.

Unproffessional is a good way to describe the Goadsbys experience. From the first viewing to the last contact they are all over the place. On one property we were told of three different council tax bands. "Im not sure" or "I'd have to check" was all we heard over many questions asked. It was if they had better things to do and I felt like saying sorry for them having to show me around! I didn't get a proprerty due to the others income being much more stable than my own which is fair enough but that was after the advice that not putting my other halfs income down (50,000 plus) would make any difference. My ass! That as well as all the various fees they want to charge you I seriously recommend avoiding them. A formal complaint is on its way to head office.

Where to start, problem 1) moving in day (a Saturday) turned up to be told that we still had several hundred pounds to pay, when we said we had paid everything we were told they had forgotten to give us this particular form!
Problem 2) we were renting an unfurnished property after being promised carpet were to be replaced and a fridge freezer would be provided turned up to find they were not there! However even though the flat was meant to be cleared the previous tenants junk was still in the flat broken sofas wardrobes ect, and the flat was in a filthy state, coffee sprayed up the walls... Goadsby are awful! They do not care about your well being as a tennant - from the wording of the contract, the way they never ring you back (surely they want your business?), to the manner in which they speak to you it all makes you feel like a criminal. Charging an arm and a leg for references when they dont do anything! Had to wait 3 and half weeks, despite speaking to her on the phone many times asking her to push it forward and they still charged us all rent as if I was living there. The house is in a state and it takes just so much effort to get them to repair and maintain the property, dispite paying a considerable amount more than either house next door, each with different agencies. Please for the sake of all these comments on this wall avoid Goadsby.

Never again!!! From racial comments and them getting moving dates wrong when I moved in to a farce when I wanted to end the contract to leave the property & end any dealings with this company.
They charge you an arm and a leg for doing nothing - even when you ask for them to fix things (is that not their job??) and then demand money for rent for the months between you moving out and the new tenant moving in - as they were too lazy to advertise the property in a timely manner.

Complained to Goadsbys, took them two weeks to attempt to clean flat, replace missing items (put a massive hole in the wall bringing the fridge in), during this time we had to put all are stuff in to storage. After the two weeks flat was still a mess so we decided instead of waiting we would give up and clean our selves.
Goadsbys very kindly (haha) said they would not charge us for the time we could not live there and changed the dates on our standing order, no big deal you would think but no every month we would get a letter saying our rent was two weeks late, even though we called, wrote and visited them to tell them that they had changed the date.

When I looked at a property to rent I noticed that there were no radiators which I thought was strange. When I asked the agent about how it was heated he said he didn't know but he'd find out. Fortunately for him I'm not from England and back home you'd never find a property without heating being let out to someone, but apparently that's not the case in England. It wasn't until I moved in that they gave me the energy rating for the flat which was the worst possible rating. This place is insanely cold, damp and miserable. Goadsby do not care about tenants, and I even doubt they care about the landlords. I'm in touch with environmental health about this place. I will never deal with Goadsby again. They take forever to respond to you, and charge you a fortune. Avoid!

We have just brought our 1st home in Salisbury from Goadsby and found them very proffeshional and supportive all the way through the sale. They always were happy to take my calls and quick to return them. We used them as they were recommended to us via a friend who uses them every time he sells and I would have no trouble recommending them in the future.

I used the Southampton branch. They are the worst agency I have ever used. We have been trying to get a spare key for 6 months and every time we call they say they will look in to it.
They take forever to come and sort out any issues and they also charge you the earth. Oh and to top it all off they are the rudest people I have ever had to deal with.

Absolutely awful - would not recommend them to anyone. They made us look bad to our tenants, and through negligence have left our home with long term damage. We were with them for 2 long years - can not believe we stayed that long. Communication is very poor.

A terrible company. We rented a property in Southampton that had a serious infestation problem. This wasn't a cheap, low rent property either. It was close to one thousand p.m. Goadsby had assured us a previous 'problem' with the property had been sorted. They lied basically and when we explained we had cockroaches in the kitchen, they completely passed the buck. They returned our call once out of eight times (Soton branch). I have never felt so ripped off before. We finally had to pay ourselves to sort the problem out.

Currently renting a property on Southampton via Goadsby, it is not even health and safety compliant and should not have been available for rent. The interior is worn out and shabby and there is not one room in the house that does not need extensive attention and we are paying over inflated prices for this disgraceful privilege. We should have had a home fit for purpose on the first day of tenancy now we have to fight to get safety and a clean home. I would never use an agent that was prepared to take on a property like this ever again, and indeed I would want an agent that could at least act for the tenants too. I would never recommend Goadsby to anyone ever.

Avoid using Goadsby. They won't support you when it comes to refunding your house deposit. 8months past and we are still waiting. I don't want to put names because clearly this is management problem in the Goadsby Southampton branch itself.
We were supposed to get our deposit around August 2008. Since then I keep calling them to ask about my refund, the person that answers my call will reply saying "only ***** can sort your problem, but she is on the phone now. Can I take a message and ask her to call you back?" ...She never returned my call. I have even called them more than 5 times in... (read more)

The worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in my life. We have rented four houses over the past five years due to work commitments but have never had a problem with our letting agents. Goadsby have been rude, incompetent and completely arrogant, particularly the Southampton office. They left us without hot water for four weeks and very, very rarely returned any calls or emails (even from the very beginning). We moved out of the property (in Chandlers Ford) because we became so frustrated with their attitude. I say this from the heart - never, ever rent from these cowboys.

As a person who deals with property on a day to day basis I am all too aware of the way estate agencies work and some can be very frustrating however, Goadsby were professional and persistant which makes all the difference when try to sell a property quickly, I would certainly recommend them to friends and / or family wishing to sell their property.

I rented through this company a few years ago, then had the 'pleasure' of working for them for a while. I couldn't believe the way the male workers discussed female clients, and wasn't too impressed with the honesty, or morals of the company.
Found a house on rightmove we were interested in buying, and after an initial call into one of their offices, I soon realised they had not changed. I would not buy a house if it was registered with them, and would never, ever sell or rent out through them.
