Goadsby are awful! They do not care about your well being as a tennant - from the wording of the contract, the way they never ring you back (surely they want your business?), to the manner in which they speak to you it all makes you feel like a criminal. Charging an arm and a leg for references when they dont do anything! Had to wait 3 and half weeks, despite speaking to her on the phone many times asking her to push it forward and they still charged us all rent as if I was living there. The house is in a state and it takes just so much effort to get them to repair and maintain the property, dispite paying a considerable amount more than either house next door, each with different agencies. Please for the sake of all these comments on this wall avoid Goadsby.

Never again!!! From racial comments and them getting moving dates wrong when I moved in to a farce when I wanted to end the contract to leave the property & end any dealings with this company.

They charge you an arm and a leg for doing nothing - even when you ask for them to fix things (is that not their job??) and then demand money for rent for the months between you moving out and the new tenant moving in - as they were too lazy to advertise the property in a timely manner.
Steer clear from this company and tell as many people as possible - the worst!!

Expensive and shambolic. Currently a month behind with payment, 7 calls to them over 11 days and never the promised reply. Worth every penny. NOT.

When I looked at a property to rent I noticed that there were no radiators which I thought was strange. When I asked the agent about how it was heated he said he didn't know but he'd find out. Fortunately for him I'm not from England and back home you'd never find a property without heating being let out to someone, but apparently that's not the case in England. It wasn't until I moved in that they gave me the energy rating for the flat which was the worst possible rating. This place is insanely cold, damp and miserable. Goadsby do not care about tenants, and I even doubt they care about the landlords. I'm in touch with environmental health about this place. I will never deal with Goadsby again. They take forever to respond to you, and charge you a fortune. Avoid!

We have just brought our 1st home in Salisbury from Goadsby and found them very proffeshional and supportive all the way through the sale. They always were happy to take my calls and quick to return them. We used them as they were recommended to us via a friend who uses them every time he sells and I would have no trouble recommending them in the future.

Terrible

I used the Southampton branch. They are the worst agency I have ever used. We have been trying to get a spare key for 6 months and every time we call they say they will look in to it.

They take forever to come and sort out any issues and they also charge you the earth. Oh and to top it all off they are the rudest people I have ever had to deal with.

Absolutely awful - would not recommend them to anyone. They made us look bad to our tenants, and through negligence have left our home with long term damage. We were with them for 2 long years - can not believe we stayed that long. Communication is very poor.

A terrible company. We rented a property in Southampton that had a serious infestation problem. This wasn't a cheap, low rent property either. It was close to one thousand p.m. Goadsby had assured us a previous 'problem' with the property had been sorted. They lied basically and when we explained we had cockroaches in the kitchen, they completely passed the buck. They returned our call once out of eight times (Soton branch). I have never felt so ripped off before. We finally had to pay ourselves to sort the problem out.

Currently renting a property on Southampton via Goadsby, it is not even health and safety compliant and should not have been available for rent. The interior is worn out and shabby and there is not one room in the house that does not need extensive attention and we are paying over inflated prices for this disgraceful privilege. We should have had a home fit for purpose on the first day of tenancy now we have to fight to get safety and a clean home. I would never use an agent that was prepared to take on a property like this ever again, and indeed I would want an agent that could at least act for the tenants too. I would never recommend Goadsby to anyone ever.

Avoid using Goadsby. They won't support you when it comes to refunding your house deposit. 8months past and we are still waiting. I don't want to put names because clearly this is management problem in the Goadsby Southampton branch itself.

We were supposed to get our deposit around August 2008. Since then I keep calling them to ask about my refund, the person that answers my call will reply saying "only ***** can sort your problem, but she is on the phone now. Can I take a message and ask her to call you back?" ...She never returned my call. I have even called them more than 5 times in one day, each time I got the same reply. This is plainly wrong to have only 1 person to manage all deposit refund issue and each time I called, I couldn't get through her. I don't know if she is avoiding me.

I have emailed Goadsby board of directors and no reply from them. Now 8 months have past and with weekly call to their branch, I finally got in touch with this lady. No compensation whatsoever albeit my difficult experience.

I won't recommend Goadsby Southampton branch to anybody. They won't support you when it comes to money refund..

The worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in my life. We have rented four houses over the past five years due to work commitments but have never had a problem with our letting agents. Goadsby have been rude, incompetent and completely arrogant, particularly the Southampton office. They left us without hot water for four weeks and very, very rarely returned any calls or emails (even from the very beginning). We moved out of the property (in Chandlers Ford) because we became so frustrated with their attitude. I say this from the heart - never, ever rent from these cowboys.

I sold my property in Aug 08 through the Winchester office. Excellent service, advice and marketing of my property which sold within 6 weeks. I would definately recommend them.

Good

As a person who deals with property on a day to day basis I am all too aware of the way estate agencies work and some can be very frustrating however, Goadsby were professional and persistant which makes all the difference when try to sell a property quickly, I would certainly recommend them to friends and / or family wishing to sell their property.

Terrible

I rented through this company a few years ago, then had the 'pleasure' of working for them for a while. I couldn't believe the way the male workers discussed female clients, and wasn't too impressed with the honesty, or morals of the company.

Found a house on rightmove we were interested in buying, and after an initial call into one of their offices, I soon realised they had not changed. I would not buy a house if it was registered with them, and would never, ever sell or rent out through them.

I think this is unfair, any sales job can be stressful and an unforgiving especially in a harder market, Dorset1 should maybe thinking of a less stressful enviroment to work in. We all have to remember an estate agent does not get paid until a property has sold and legaly compleated, it makes no sense that an agent would not follow leads to the bitter end.

If you are thinking of selling a property and Goadsby are the last estate agent on the face of the planet, you would probably be better off placing an advert in the window of your local newsagent.
