    We are tenants in a property and the landlord is trying to sell it through Goadsby. For some very strange reason NONE of the staff members working at that branch seem to understand what "24 hours written notice to conduct viewings" mean. It's very frustrating that people are paid to do jobs which they don't know how to do properly. Priority new staff training should be to learn what rights the tenants have before offering them a job and/or passing their probation period. All they care about is how much commission they can get. I have worked in a letting agency before and these lettings agents just do not care....

    Totally rubbish and a waste of time once they receive your money they do not have any moral values or duty of care to the Tennant
    My property has a very crafty wind and so cold in the flat it had an infestation of siders that i had to clear up the hob was not working and the batch/shower is unusable as there is more pressure in a water pistol ..i asked for help and i was really upset instead of helping get a crappy letter stating that payment is late even though advised that i will pay...DO NOT USE...ALL THERY CARE ABOUT IS THEIR COMMISION

    Myself and my girlfriend firstly put too much trust in Goadsby. I asked for a flat where I could get a permit for parking as I am in the Royal Marines and use a military vehicle to get to and from work. The third day being in this flat the two of us went to the council to apply for a permit and were very quickly told that we were NOT going to get one, as the flat we are living in is exempt from getting parking permits as it was originally a house and converted into three flats, in doing so, all parking permits, resident or visitor, have been forfitted the right to any permits.     Quite possibly one of the worst estate agents I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They seem to be completly inept at doing anything and their communication is lousy verging on rude and offensive. They refused to relay our offer to the vendor as in their words it wasn't 5% less than the asking price! I explained that in a recession with a first time buyer who is no forward chain and a large part cash purchase that the asking price is only an asking price and the sale prices in the area didn't match what they were aiming for!     To improve our family life we moved from coventry to Dorset. Goadsby made everything so simple for us it was amazing. After a couple of months we noticed the paint on the walls started to peel. We contacted Goadsby to ask if we could decorate. We was told the landlord was going to visit and inspect what needed doing. He never showed up on the day arranged. We contacted Goadsby numerous times to get the flat decorated but nothing ever git done. The landlord then decided he was selling the property .. so we moved. Two days after we moved the flat was inspected. They now want to charge us for decorating .... no chance. We are still waiting for our bond back and calls are not beung returned to us from Goadsby.
    Goadsby are ok but could improve.

    We were being evicted from a previous property due to landlords dad being taken ill and needing the property, we had been searching for a month and a half when we eventually found a property we could afford and could move in asap. We are a young family with 7 month old twins so goadsby knew we needed something urgently. When we viewed our property it was in a bit of a state, debris on lounge carpet, dirty bathroom and kitchen.     These people are a useless waste of space, they are supposed to "manage" our building - they are shocking in this role, I have never experienced such profound arrogance from people in a supposed customer relations role.

    It has been impossible to deal with them in a sensible manner and the lessees cannot get legible and sensible accounts from them about how they are spending OUR money, despite numerous requests.

    The lifts don't work - William Maugham in the Bournemouth Office denies knowing about the lift problem and states categorically that there isn't a problem with it.... (read more)

    It is a shame you bought a flat in an affordable housing scheme to use it as buy-to-let (which as you know is against the terms of your lease), to provide you an income, preventing genuine first time buyers the opportunity to get on the housing market! We have found Goadsby to be very good at what they do, especially putting up with people like you!

    Moved in over a year ago, plumbing was not finished in the kitchen, after several phone calls and visits from estate agents,, nothing was done about it. Sink and draining board came loose and same again visits and phone calls and false promises saying it would be sorted by landlord nothing was done! They did give us a plumbers number from the landlord and when we phoned him he said he didnt even know or ever heard of mr **** (landlord)
    The boiler broke down and the radiator in the spare bedroom started leaking.. With the boiler we phoned are gas company and with the radiator we had to pay... (read more)

    Having dealt with these people I can see why there are so many bad reports about them. Initially it actually took 6 weeks to be approved for the let, they claimed they had never received the first set of references which all my referees confirmed they had sent out. So a 2nd set had to be sent. During the approval process no updates were given, and NO phone calls were returned when I called for an update. Also the girl dealing with it claimed to have NOT received 2 emails I sent her, asking for an update.     We have always found goadsby verwood to be professional supportive and intelligent. They know their market, they always feed back and upsell at every possibility. It's an expensive operation selling a house so why bother with second best? Well done guys good luck for 2012 :-)

    Sadly we found Goadsby to be appalling both in terms of customer services and basic competence. On viewing the property we immediately agreed to take it, work was being completed and we were assured it would all be complete before the start date. We were also told that the property would not be marketed once we paid the large initial fee. This was not true, it continued to be marketed on their own website and they continued to show prospective clients around even though we had paid a holding fee.     Our father died suddenly last year, leaving his property in Southampton to us. We all live in Norfolk so needed a professional and sympathetic agent to sell and keep an eye on the place in the meantime. The Goadsby team ticked all the right boxes and more - at no point did we feel the need to rush down to Southampton and check on the flat and they even read the meters for us when the place sold. Excellent service!

    I sold a property through Goadsby in Salisbury and would receomend them to anyone. The Branch Manager gave me honest advice on the valuation, they sold my property within 4 weeks for a very good price and treated me very well. They where always happy to take my calls, sorted any issues out and having spoken to the couple who bought my house from me, they also said they where treated very well from the moment they walked in the office to the day they collected the keys.

    Not even worth the one star if you ask me! I was a current tenant with them in a student property, and they are the slowest, rudest people in the world! It took them over 6-9 months to fix the ariel in our house, over 3 months to fix the flooring in our utility room and everything else was going wrong from there! I thought to learn from my mistakes and never rent from them again, but I have. I am currently waiting to move into a house provided by them, but have been told that I may have to wait an extra week for funding to clear, they have given us 'bitty' information, they did not tell us in... (read more)

    EXTREMLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

    My pregnant wife made an appointment to view property, Goadsbys agent didn't show up. We called them and they said that the appointment was scheduled at a different hour so we went to the agency to find out what is going on. Their agent told us that they can go with us right now to show us the property and we agreed to met at the flat.
    Please imagine that we went there once again and their agent didn't show up...AGAIN!! even after we had that conversation face to face 10 min ago. I called them again to find out that they cannot let us to view the propery because it is too late now. That was on Saturday.

    I called on Monday and they promised to call me back, didn't happened.

    I am very patient person and I turned this situation into lauh, unfortunately it was worse with my pregnant wife!

    Save yourself trouble and frustration and go somwere else.

    A house in Chandlers Ford was on sale with goadsby. I enquired about it, asking to view and was told it was now tenanted and there would be no viewings for 4 months. That was two months ago. Now, on Rightmove, the property is listed as being sold subject to contract. So, goadsby failed me, a prospective customer, but - more importantly - it failed the seller because the seller does not know how much I would have offered for the house. I may well have offered more and I am a cash buyer.

    Rubbish photos taken by a child. No communication between office during period of 2 months. No follow up from viewings. No strategic sales plan No appreciation of money spent in comparison with similar properties. Bullying tactics with regard to lowering of sale price. Couldn't sell sweets to a child.

    The most unprofessional agency ever. When we moved in into rented flat, we realized that the shower doesn't work at all. It took us 2,5 months until they fixed it. Now we have mould in our flat: on windows, kitchen walls, even in a fridge. They don't care. We started to have health problems - they don't believe that mould can be so dangerous. Don't rent anything from Goadsby Southampton.

    Worst estate agent in Poole. I overheard them talking about a ridiculously low offer to some prospective buyer just because I had said that I was looking for a fast sale. They even denied this when I confronted them. They don't return calls, they're some of the worst sales people I've ever seen. Anyway they're history now. I can't believe how bad an estate agent can be!

    Avoid.

    Extremely unprofessional and unfair. We had an offer accepted and a move in date agreed to later have an old offer "resurface" and lose the property from under us. This should not be allowed to happen. Once the landlord has accepted and is happy with an offer no further offers should come to his attention. I am extremely disgusted and appalled at the ethos and attitude of this agent. Use at your peril.

    Terrible service they gave me a draft copy of the contract to read before signing their copy, unknown to us the draft copy had pages missing. We signed their copy in good faith only to find out later that there where major deference's between the contracts.
    Read the copy you are signing - Avoid like the plague.

    Unproffessional is a good way to describe the Goadsbys experience. From the first viewing to the last contact they are all over the place. On one property we were told of three different council tax bands. "Im not sure" or "I'd have to check" was all we heard over many questions asked. It was if they had better things to do and I felt like saying sorry for them having to show me around! I didn't get a proprerty due to the others income being much more stable than my own which is fair enough but that was after the advice that not putting my other halfs income down (50,000 plus) would make any difference. My ass! That as well as all the various fees they want to charge you I seriously recommend avoiding them. A formal complaint is on its way to head office.

    Where to start, problem 1) moving in day (a Saturday) turned up to be told that we still had several hundred pounds to pay, when we said we had paid everything we were told they had forgotten to give us this particular form!
    Problem 2) we were renting an unfurnished property after being promised carpet were to be replaced and a fridge freezer would be provided turned up to find they were not there! However even though the flat was meant to be cleared the previous tenants junk was still in the flat broken sofas wardrobes ect, and the flat was in a filthy state, coffee sprayed up the walls... (read more)

    Goadsby are awful! They do not care about your well being as a tennant - from the wording of the contract, the way they never ring you back (surely they want your business?), to the manner in which they speak to you it all makes you feel like a criminal. Charging an arm and a leg for references when they dont do anything! Had to wait 3 and half weeks, despite speaking to her on the phone many times asking her to push it forward and they still charged us all rent as if I was living there. The house is in a state and it takes just so much effort to get them to repair and maintain the property, dispite paying a considerable amount more than either house next door, each with different agencies. Please for the sake of all these comments on this wall avoid Goadsby.

    Never again!!! From racial comments and them getting moving dates wrong when I moved in to a farce when I wanted to end the contract to leave the property & end any dealings with this company.

    They charge you an arm and a leg for doing nothing - even when you ask for them to fix things (is that not their job??) and then demand money for rent for the months between you moving out and the new tenant moving in - as they were too lazy to advertise the property in a timely manner.
    Steer clear from this company and tell as many people as possible - the worst!!

    When I looked at a property to rent I noticed that there were no radiators which I thought was strange. When I asked the agent about how it was heated he said he didn't know but he'd find out. Fortunately for him I'm not from England and back home you'd never find a property without heating being let out to someone, but apparently that's not the case in England. It wasn't until I moved in that they gave me the energy rating for the flat which was the worst possible rating. This place is insanely cold, damp and miserable. Goadsby do not care about tenants, and I even doubt they care about the landlords. I'm in touch with environmental health about this place. I will never deal with Goadsby again. They take forever to respond to you, and charge you a fortune. Avoid!

    Impossible to communicate with and really unhelpful. Still awaiting substantial refund of rent payments taken after property had been re-let!

    We have just brought our 1st home in Salisbury from Goadsby and found them very proffeshional and supportive all the way through the sale. They always were happy to take my calls and quick to return them. We used them as they were recommended to us via a friend who uses them every time he sells and I would have no trouble recommending them in the future.
