A great service was provided by gascoines. I only had dealings with mick through out. He kept me updated often and did everything he said he would. He was polite and helpful I could not ask for anymore.

We brought a house from Gavin and were incredibly impressed from first conversation right through to completion of the sale. He was trustworthy, engaging and incredibly efficient; he kept us in the loop throughout the process and kept us well informed. When working with Gavin at Gascoigne Pees we really felt we were in safe hands and they made the stresses of buying a house as minimal and straight forward as possible.
I would recommend both Gavin and Gascoigne Pees for all areas of estate agency to any one, they really know what they're doing and have a fantastic manner.

It was a pleasure dealing with Gascoigne Pees in Tadley my main contact there was John who was very accomodating although this is true about all the staff I dealt with, especially as I would just turn up and ask if I could go and look at the property there and then. I would highly recommend them.

All the staff, particularly Mick Gooding, were exceptional, and although our prospective purchase fell through (the seller's fault), he went above and beyond to make the sale and purchase work, He kept all parties on side for six months, and without him we probably would not have been able to hang on to our buyer.

I think it is important to ensure that anyone who logs onto this site is aware that Gascoigne Pees is otherwise known as 'Countrywide Residential Lettings'. It is misleading to have separate review pages for different estate agents that are under the umbrella of CRL.
GP chichester branch (otherwise known as CRL) have not the faintest clue how to treat clients. They will gladly take your money but after the first payment of rent has been recieved the 'costumer care' fails completely, lack of communication is one of the many problems I have experienced with them. I would never, ever use them again.

Agent failed to respond to concerns I had as a landlord regarding management problems and late rent (which had been recieved by the tenant and GP were holding but had not forwarded on to me as the landlord). Rude and disinterested. Inaccurate rental statements recieved (when they did send them). No clear complaint procedure in place, had to deal with at least 7 different people at GP. Dreadful agents.

Although my experience with Gascoigne Pees in relation to property rental was at times very good and at times very frustrating e.g. fee for aborted property visit, my experience in dealing with Karl Hanks has been consistently positive. During the transition period leading up to my exit from the rented property in Bramley, Karl was communicating with me daily and on many occasions multiple times during the day. I employed the services of Gascoigne Pees in Addlestone as I wanted a fast and efficient sale. This service was promised by the agent (Andrew Freegard) and I assumed that the 2% commission was an indication that the best possible levels of professionalism, commitment and attention to detail would be delivered. Sadly this was not to be the case on any count at any level. I was introduced to a potential buyer who I was assured wanted and could deliver a quick turnaround, on the condition that the price was reduced. Both Mick and Lizzie were helpful and supportive through the process of selling a property in Pamber Heath. When the property was on the market they kept me updated with the state of the market and provided useful feedback after viewings. Once the property was under offer they kept me informed of the progress of the sale. They were always exceptionally friendly and courteous.

We have just perchased our first home, through gascoigne pees. At the start of the perchase we had outlined that this needed to be completed before the hold on stamp duty for first time buyers was bought back in. Lizzie and Mick did their upmost to ensure this happened and that the sale went through without any hassle, even working on a back up plan if the deadline was not met. We would strongly recommend their services.

Agents were very helpfully throughout our experience with them. We looked at several properties through them and they were always punctual, factual, knowledgable, professional and polite.
We would have got our property without the sharpness of there responses as it was only on the market for a few days. They always kept us well informed I never had to chase them for anything. Having dealt with many agencies over the past couple of years in our quest to buy a house, we feel we have a good comparison base to work from! Simon, our contact staff member at GP was excellent - he always returned phone calls promptly, remained extremely calm under pressure (of which there was lots!) and managed to keep us calm - and was superb at keeping us continually updated. For the first time we felt we could actually trust the agent we were dealing with. He was professional, courteous and always went the extra mile, which on occasions meant him working later on our behalf.
Our only complaint with GP was that we were pressurised into using Countrywide as our solicitor rather than one we'd sourced ourselves. This turned out to be a huge mistake - they were TERRIBLE and resulted in us having to spend hours chasing up and effectively doing much of the work they should have done ourselves. Its a sham because it let down the image of GP who were great - we'd recommend NOT using Country wide, they are too big a company with not enough interest in customer care.Was this review helpful? I thought the Basingstoke Branch did a phenomenol job in selling our house. In fact they were pretty much faultless and went far in excess of what I had expected of them. Mark valued our house and was spot on with his advice of the market. I was called by all the staff in the office dealing with the sale before I went on the market, and felt that ALL of them knew me and the house. They introduced our buyer in the first week that the house went on the market.
During the negotiation I had a mountain of communication from the branch - especially from Lizzy - who advised us in a friendly and professional manner. I also felt they dealt fairly with our buyer, and was thrilled that they achieved a sale price of 99.7% of the asking price in a difficiult market!!!! This is particularly impressive when you consider that one of my neighbours put their house on the market at the same time as us and still hasn't sold - after going through three different agents! I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to family and friends.Was this review helpful? Yes

An awful experience that could easily have been otherwise. It started with a very odd back and forward of acceptance of offers then a non acceptance then acceptance again, mid through thisexperience communication broke down due to their inability to either communicate with each other or more importantly their customers, I regularly had to pick the phone up and chase. In the end i dealt directly with the vendor to order to resolve all the issues that Gascoigne pees could not, the communication blackout continued right up to completion from both sides. I may well throw my toys out of the pram, however, a professional organisation must maintain that degree of customer contact and SERVICE throughout what is a stressful experience, they did not which in my mind gives evidence to the point of their professionalism, use at your own risk, better just avoid.

There are three agents in this office all of whom were very helpful, easy to contact and and seemed to work hard to make things go smoothly.
Unfortunately the office deals with Countrywide for solicitors and mortgage brokers. The solicitors who were acting on behalf of the vendors seems very disorganised, causing delays and on two occasions seemed to think we were trying to sell a house when we were infact buying. We also felt the mortgage broker, although friendly, misled us with the costs. Correct there is no mortgage fee but there is an advice fee of £250 when taking out the mortgage - not that we were told about this until we were too far down the line to change without causing delays. Very unhappy customer.

I was impressed with Chris from the moment I met him. He was immediately enthusiastic about my property and gave very clear, straightforward information about what would be involved...very helpful to a first time landlady! He was confident he could let my house quickly and he was right... as between Chris and Richard we had three prospective tenants viewing within a week and the first people viewing took the property. It would be an understatement to say I was thrilled not just by the speed of the process, but by the friendliness and professionalism shown throughout. I would recommend them highly.

I bought the property on behalf of my elderly aunt who was moving to Berkshire from Yorkshire, a stressfull experience for any 88 year old.Lizzie Ham dealt with us from day one and in fact it was also her first day when she took us around a property in Tadley.Lizzie was always very polite and conscientious and whatever question we asked she always came back to us.We infact lost the property we wanted as my aunt did not sell hers in time which we were greatly disappointed about but when the sale fell through Lizzie phoned us straight away and we proceeded with the sale which made my aunt very happy, as it was the property she wanted from day one.Like all sales it wasn't always plain sailing but Lizzie always kept us up to date throughout.Our general experience with Lizzie and Gascoigne Pees were excellant and I would happily recommend them to any future clients.

Everyone at the Tadley branch of Gascoigne Pees provided an excellent service. They were very helpful and willing to do that little bit more to help us sell our old property and purchase our new one. They quickly grasped the type of property we wanted and found us exactly what we wanted - despite our initial reservations. Mick in particular actively pursued the exchange of contracts which enabled us to move into our home approximately 3 months from when we put our house on the market. Basically we were very pleased with their service.

I have no hesitation in recommending Gascoigne Pees. Having left a previous agent who I had been with for eight months, I chose Gascoigne pees and they sold my house within two. They provided direct and clear advice promptly and without drama; none of this 'bad news, good news' to keep you on board, just simple straight forward communication! Added to this all of the staff are friendly and make you feel valued as a client. Excellent and outstanding.

I would highly recommend Gascoigne Pees and more specifically Aaron from the Midhurst office. He is efficient, friendly and honest and went the extra mile to resolve any issues or queries we had. Aaron turned information requests around quickly and was instrumental in helping solve the delays and issues we faced with our sale / purchase. He is a great chap and an excellent representative of Gascoigne Pees in general. I particularly liked the truthful "tell it how it is" attitude - very refreshing in a market that can be somewhat filled with sales cheese - Five stars!

Superb service! We were given detailed feedback after each visit from prospective buyers which we found really helpful. I never doubted that they were always doing the best that they could for us during the whole process, and we were very much treated as individual customers not just another property that they had on their books. All of the staff are fantastic - helping as much as they can on each call and always keeping you up to date with any information. Special mention has to go to Lizzie who is a credit to Gascoigne Pees, nothing is ever too much trouble; and to Adam who helped out chasing something with the mortgage which wasn't really in his remit. Thank you to everyone for your hard work I would definitely use G&P again. If you are looking to sell your property in Tadley, go with these guys.

i was recommended by a friend who did her mortgage with the mortgage consultant in gascoigne pees,tadley,.
to speak to adam in the tadley branch.adam was in an appointment and i was asked what time would it be convenient for him to call me back.

Our first contact with Gascoine & Pees was in Sept 2010. They have been responsible for supervising the sale of our previous residence in Spencer Close, Pamber Heath, and the purchase of our new property also in Pamber Heath..
Frankly, we could not have hoped for a better agent. As a measure of the commitment a particular member of their staff has shown supporting us, his clients, knowing that we were undertaking the house move ourselves, he actually took a days leave on the day of our completion to help us with the move and worked like a Trojan throughout the day.

I found the staff at the Tadley branch very helpful and professional throughout, making the process less stressful. Communication was excellent and agreed actions were followed through. I have viewed several properties with the agents. I also attempted to purchase one but withdrew the offer on the basis of the survey. The staff I dealt with (David and particularly Sarah) were outstanding in their professionalism but also their friendly and understanding approach in dealing with me. They totally understood my requirements and met my needs in every way. I felt that I was able to discuss any related issues honestly with them without the worry of being misunderstood or judged. They were excellent in their communication and knowledge of the area, properties and market. I highly recommend them and would have not hesitation in using them to sale my property and for further purchases. They made, what is normally a stressful time, almost enjoyable!

We bought this property through Gascoigne Pees at Emsworth and found the staff in this office really helpful and efficient.Sarah Clinton especially helped and advised us and enabled us to fulfil our dreams of owning a thatched cottage. The sale was a difficult one as it had been repossessed by the building society and strict deadlines had to be met but finally the problems were solved and we are now very happy in our new home. Absolutely shocking.
They started by constantly showing us properties in rough areas after specifying no rough areas as part of our move was to get OUT of a rough area. Under what moral system is it then ok to dump someone in another trouble spot??
Then they described my partner to the landlord as my Son - and tried to get me to go along with it saying it might be an issue that we were gay - it wasn't. We were stunned by this and wish there was a more formal way of getting a proper complaint in that would get actioned, it was quite upsetting.

The absolute worst agency I have ever used. My complaint list is now over 16 individual issues over the last 12 weeks, everytime I go to complete my complaint letter another issue arises. Rude staff, emergency numbers that do not work, no out of hours emergency contact information and useless diligence. It turns out my landlord shouldnt even have been letting the property out, but Gascoigne pees failed to do a complete check on what you would think would be standard checks. I cannot think of a single helpful thing they have done. It probably hasnt helped that the management side moved from a local office, to a county office to a "south" division office. I have to add that it is countrywide who manage as they are the group leader for the group which owns gascoigne pees. I cannot get out of this property quick enough, and I still have the inventory check out to do, lets see what they try to steal from my deposit!

What a mistake it has been to use Gascoigne Pees Putney to sell our flat.
Every step of the way they have promised dates when they would contact us - and then ignored every deadline they set themselves so we have had to chase them.
Our sale was not part of a chain and should have been straightforward. However GPees are firmly on the side of the buyer as they have:
1. given us one hour's notice that the buyer was coming to the flat to measure up on a Saturday morning

GP were the letting agent for a property we left 10 months ago. They still haven't returned our deposit, despite numerous emails and telephone calls. We are now being fobbed off with "Admin North" are dealing with it. Desparately bad and incompetent service resulting from staff having no understanding of the ARLA guidance concerning deposit return.

I spoke to an agent last week to arange 4 viewings for houses to rent in Guildford. 1st problem no one ever came back to confirm these veiwings and gave me no address, so i had to call them, however when i did a very rude lady demanded that i came into the office and refused to give me address\'s to the houses.
After receiving a call from another agent i was told that there was only 1 place to see and that he would meet us outside at the given time, was he there?? no he wasn\'t so i called them back, his response was \"knock on the door and the tenants will show you around\". At this point i was very unhappy about knocking on some strangers door, but i did anyway to find out that the tennant did NOT know we were coming she had not been told by GP at all, so after wasting my time and making a food out of myself i called GP again, they gave me no response so i hung up, never using them again!!!Was this review helpful? The GP agent we dealt with in the Guildford office spelt her own job title incorrectly on the contract. So you can imagine how satisfied we were with the rest of her 'service', which included misrepresentation, double-dipping on fees, not replying to many (legitimate) queries, making a catalogue of mistakes and generally having this wholly undeserved smug attitude about her. Nightmare, allowed tenant to move furniture in before commencement of lease. Had not taken a deposit from tenant. A few years ago, GP advertised a cost-free HIP service but only if I paid (not them) up front (I have the emails) and complained to Head Office/Countrywide at the time that advertising misleading but didn't get a response or follow-up. As I paid for my EPC (via HIP) and emailed them lately several times to get it they still have not been able to supply it, so I've had to pay for the EPC again. If this is how they treat vendors how do they treat purchasers.

1. I have rented out my flat with GPees for 2 years now. The first tennant passed all of their credit checks, but was the tennant from hell and fled with numerous baliffs now calling and a history of CCJs. How did he pass GPees credit check?? GPees said it was not their problem and their c/agency did all the correct checks.
2. GPees are very quick to request payments, but their lettings dept takes 4 months and persistent chasing to correct administrative errors of over-charging.
Another example of incompetent and lazy lettings agents who are happy to take 'easy' money and do nothing in return for very generous management fees.
I will not be using GPees Kingston again, and strongly advise others to use an alternative (eg Leaders) agent in Kingston instead.

I used the Kingston branch for lettings and dealt with the letting manager Barry, who was pushy and hid the true costs, he gave us a total price and when we signed up he informed us there were extra costs.
Every problem wih the property has been a struggle to get resolved and now we are leaving they are using any excuse to return money.

I used the branch in Farnham to purchase a house and they were absolutely horrendous. If there was an option to give them no stars I would. The staff are rude, arrogrant and completely unprofessional. I would never, ever, ever use them again. When you put in a bid they add more to it and then accuse you of lying about what bid you put in, they then use the oldest trick in the book that they have a full asking price bid in the wings! Don't fall for this, they are absolute cowboys. They have lost my future business. A truly stressful and terrible service. Avoid at all costs if you want to remain sane!

After several months of incompetency the Esher office found a new manager who restored my faith in residential letting agents. Mark is about the most straight forward, polite and efficient manager I have come across. If you want to preserve your sanity avoid using them at all costs. The level of incompetency we had to deal with was staggering and is precisely why estate agents have the bad reputation they do.

I used the Windsor office for a number of years. Principally their communication and record keeping is awful shortly followed by their communication. I paid a full management fee and the service fell way way short of normal expectations. Mis-information, poor management of their contractors and not owning up to things they are accountable for. Completely the worst letting agent. A leach. Siobhan Wright the manager their is arrogant and knows nothing about customer service. Avoid them at all costs.

I was introduced to a potential buyer who I was assured wanted and could deliver a quick turnaround, on the condition that the price was reduced. I could not really afford to lower the price to the level that was being suggested, but the agents persuasive arguments won me over as a quick sale was the most important factor, as my daughter was visiting from Australia and would be helping me to relocate closer to other family members (I am an 86 year old lady). Sadly none of the slick promises of Mr Freegard or the glossy sales brochures were met. From acceptance of the offer in July 2011, it took a further 7 months before I was able to move into my new home. I believe Gascoigne Pees misled me throughout, causing me and my family great distress, my daughter having to return to Australia before I moved. For the last three months of the sale, no communication or support was provided by Gascoigne Pees. Not exactly the blue chip service that I expected. Our letter of complaint was of course rebutted, no apologies or commiseration were forthcoming, merely a smug assertion that they "acted in my best interest". I strongly urge anyone who is considering using Gascoigne Pees to think again.  and managed to keep us calm - and was superb at keeping us continually updated. For the first time we felt we could actually trust the agent we were dealing with. He was professional, courteous and always went the extra mile, which on occasions meant him working later on our behalf.
Our only complaint with GP was that we were pressurised into using Countrywide as our solicitor rather than one we'd sourced ourselves. This turned out to be a huge mistake - they were TERRIBLE and resulted in us having to spend hours chasing up and effectively doing much of the work they should have done ourselves. He is efficient, friendly and honest and went the extra mile to resolve any issues or queries we had. They started by constantly showing us properties in rough areas after specifying no rough areas as part of our move was to get OUT of a rough area. Under what moral system is it then ok to dump someone in another trouble spot??
Then they described my partner to the landlord as my Son - and tried to get me to go along with it saying it might be an issue that we were gay - it wasn't. We were stunned by this and wish there was a more formal way of getting a proper complaint in that would get actioned, it was quite upsetting.
For months we managed to avoid contact with them, then when we told them we had an offer in on a flat and may only need to extend our contract a few more months they IMMEDIATELY started viewings, which started with people just wandering around to the house and knocking on the door and peering in the windows.
We complained about that and were pressured to allow viewings even though we might not be moving out for 3-4 months, we said it would be OK if they could do it in groups and occasionally. Next thing we know the Landlord is calling angry because they told him we'd refused to allow them ANY viewings at all.
So viewings start, and go on for over two months no problems, no complaints from them.
We complain saying the viewings seem disorganised and can't they try a little harder so we weren't spending half our nights cleaning - they threaten to call the landlord - giggling down the phone about this - and I say no the issue is with you not the landlord, just please be more organised.
An eviction notice arrives. I complain and am greeted by more giggling, and am passed to her manager and a tone of smug satisfaction just repeating "we are just doing what the landlord requests".
Yes. The landlord who has not had one issue with us, who has not heard from us since renting the house and who is willing to extend the contract til the end of the year despite their attempts to evict us.
Since then the silliness got worse - the doors were left unlocked after viewings, the windows were left wide open leaving me thinking I'd been robbed, complained to the landlord and was told the more professional manager would be running it from now on - only to get her texting me in the middle of my work day that a viewing was now booked five hours from the first I hear about it, no request no 24 hours notice, no nothing.
More professional. Ha. So writing this now, I fully expect to have something more colourful to say after we attempt to check out without being done for the child-proofing measures and long-faded baby stickers that we clearly applied to the stairs and doors.
Stunned. I imagine a class of schoolchildren would seriously outperform these people. My complaint list is now over 16 individual issues over the last 12 weeks, everytime I go to complete my complaint letter another issue arises. Rude staff, emergency numbers that do not work, no out of hours emergency contact information and useless diligence. It turns out my landlord shouldnt even have been letting the property out, but Gascoigne pees failed to do a complete check on what you would think would be standard checks. I cannot think of a single helpful thing they have done. It probably hasnt helped that the management side moved from a local office, to a county office to a "south" division office. I have to add that it is countrywide who manage as they are the group leader for the group which owns gascoigne pees. 3. given us a maximum of 4 days' notice of when the buyer wanted to exchange (they told us on a Tuesday that the buyer wanted to exchange the same week)
4. hummed and haaed over whether our inital suggested completion date would be convenient to the buyer
5. when we revised our completion date to a Monday as we couldn't move into our alternative accommodation until the weekend, the agent made a big fuss about how inconvenient that would be to the buyer!
We ended up dreading phoning the agent as every time we were made to feel a nuisance.
We initially chose them as we'd bought the flat through them a few years earlier. Back then they were ok, although I did end up having to keep in direct contact with our vendor for updates (therefore mostly bypassing GPees) - I guess that should have been a sign!
As a seller, steer well clear of them and save yourself a lot of stress. They don't understand that the seller is paying for them so they should be working with the seller.
I would never use them again.
Oh, we also tried looking for a property through GPees Epsom - they ignored our budget and sent completely inappropriate properties. They still haven't returned our deposit, despite numerous emails and telephone calls. We are now being fobbed off with "Admin North" are dealing with it. Desparately bad and incompetent service resulting from staff having no understanding of the ARLA guidance concerning deposit return.

After receiving a call from another agent i was told that there was only 1 place to see and that he would meet us outside at the given time, was he there?? no he wasn\\\'t so i called them back, his response was \\\"knock on the door and the tenants will show you around\\\". Seeing how they are so big and so expensive they must be good, right?.........wrong!!! After initially getting the price wrong and using photos that were quite likely taken by an infant they proceeded to arrange lots of viewings, the majority of which didn't show up (if they were genuine in the first place) or were a complete waste of time, at least I think they were, its difficult to know when you DON'T GET FEEDBACK!!!
After this complete fiasco I made a formal complaint and was treated as a 2nd class citizen for my troubles so I changed agents as soon as I could.
My new agent treated me with respect, gave me a great service and marketed my home the way it should have been in the first place, proving that not all estate agents are bad and some are refreshingly good but not Gascoigne Pees.
n.b the better agent was only 1.2%!!!!!!
