Gascoigne Halman are recognised as one of the region’s leading privately owned independent firms offering homes and property for sale in South Manchester, Cheshire and the High Peak.
The company was formed in 1990 and opened with offices in Wilmslow and Prestbury. At a time when the larger companies were struggling, Gascoigne Halman were able to grow as a result of a professional service combined with friendly, local management and staff offering a wealth of experience and expertise in house transfer and the business of estate agency.
More recently, our dynamic and forward-thinking approach has meant that we have kept pace with technological developments. We have introduced computer-based systems into our office network which enables us to give regular feedback whilst properties are on the market.
We also have a Residential Lettings department providing a complete homes and property letting service from valuation to property management once the house is let. Our Land and New Homes Department is recognised by the majority of major house builders in the region. For the house purchase we offer a wide range of new homes on many developments throughout the North Cheshire and South Manchester region.
In addition to offering a large range of homes for sale, Gascoigne Halman Private Finance Limited can assist you in finding your way through the wide variety of mortgages currently available. The large number of mortgages we place each month enables us to negotiate special lower rates with certain building societies, although our independent status enables us to place your mortgage with any building society, bank or financial institution which may have a specific package available to suit your particular needs.
If you are purchasing a home you'll need an unbiased, professional assessment of its condition by a qualified surveyor or valuer. We have a Survey Department which can carry out a survey to suit your needs.

Living overseas has its difficulties when purchasing a property in UK, though with the help of Fay & the team at Gascoinge Halman's Altrincham office, everything went smoothly, they were very helpful & understood our time constraints & viewing requests.
Very customer focused.

Andrew of the Sale office was a tower of strength, support and understanding whose advice was superb from start to finish. Together with the rest of the staff especially the ever positive progress chasing Rachel, they are a very professional and efficient team and I highly recommend them.

Excellent customer service. Ladies in lettings office dealt with me in extremely polite and professional manner. All paperwork done to the last detail and arriving on time. Every conversation followed up which makes you feel that you taken care of with attention.

GH in Bramhall sold my house for me in 5 days and I got a great price. They then gave me an outstanding service keeping me up to date throughout the sale. I thoroughly recommend them and I will use them again!

The Wilmslow team did a great job for us in achieving a very quick sale at a good price in current market conditions enabling us to buy the house we wanted. They knew the market very well which meant that we entered the market correctly priced. They also knew the buyers in the market which enabled them to match us with the right buyer very quickly. Peter, Steph and Nicky were our main points of contact and all did a fantastic job. In addition everyone else we spoke to in the Wilmslow branch were very efficient and appointments were made and messages relayed very promptly.

We were very impressed and pleased with the professional service we received from all the GH staff with whom we had contact. They had a well thought out analysis of the prevailing market conditions and subsequent plan of action and options available for sale. We were kept well informed at all stages of the proceedings with calls and questions all being dealt with efficiently and in a very friendly manner. Everyone was conscientious and endeavoured to promote and act keenly on our behalf in the negotiations.

Highly Recommended. Christine, Fay and the team were both professional and high on customer service. Living 150 miles away, they not only covered all viewings, but kept me well informed. Anyone in the office also had up to date information whenever I called.
The team are very knowledgeable about current activity and movement in the market, but also able to discuss different marketing tactics based on my needs and timetable. Being made to feel like an individual customer makes such a difference.

All members of the team are friendly and professional at all times. This branch have been extremely efficient, maintaining regular contact on the telephone and following everything up in writing. Fay in particular was extremely helpful and reliable. She ensured that we met our target dates by chasing up all parties and regularly informing us of the progress of the sale. I would most certainly use Gascoigne Halman again.

The Altrincham branch was fantastic when we were buying our house, they were so helpful & accommodating. They were happy to deal with all our enquiries no matter how small & we had constant communication with them & everything was followed up by a letter the very next day. We would definately use Gascoigne Halman for our next move, we could not recommend them highly enough.

Nicola and Peter delivered an excellent service. A successful sale was accomplished for a fair price in a timely manner. This was done despite challenging market conditions and complicated legal circumstances. I have no hesitation in making a strong recommendation.

The team in Knutsford offered no end of help, expertise and positivity in the long haul to selling our house. They never let up in their efforts to get us a buyer and complete the sale, and offered a great, personal service.

Really bad experience with this agent as they were working for two other purchasers in our chain and put us under awful pressure to complete. They really forgot they were working for us as well as their other clients. Having been told we would deal with only one person we subsequently had nothing to do with him again. We would not recommend this agent and have told all of our neighbours and friends in Stockton Heath about our experience - very disappointed. Even our solicitor thought we were badly treated.
