I was very happy with the properties I was emailed, they always matched my criteria and I viewed a lot of houses with them. Jatender is very prompt with returning calls and setting up viewings and also gives honest information about the property even if it isn't positive. Once we made an offer on a house he kept us up to date and well informed of the progress. They are a very professional company and I would definitely recommend them.

Ellis & Co were superb!!! We put our house on the market on a Thursday and they had it under offer by Saturday at the price we wanted! It was in solicitor's hands on Monday. Jatender was extremely knowledgable and efficient and was an excellent conduit between the purchaser, the 2 solicitors and the agent that I was buying through. I would thoroughly recomend Ellis & Co. (and in particular Jatender) and would have no hesitation in using them again.

Jatendar was very helpful in our search for a property. He was always very honest throughout, never being too pushy or over-salesman-like; he became more of our partner in the process. Once he had a good idea of what my wife and I were lokoing for, he only contacted us when there was something that he was confident that we would be interested in, not wanting to waste our time. Ultimately,he informed us immediately once the house we eventually bought was introduced to him and we were able to act quickly... I understand from our sellers that they originally bought through Jatendar / Ellis & Co when they purchased the home seven or so years ago, which speaks volumes about the Jatendar and his business. I would definitely recommend them. Thank you.

I would definitely recommend using Ellis & Co if you want to rent a property in the Bethnal Green area. Ashley and the team were always on the ball, keeping me up to date with anything I needed to know about the property. A can do positive attitude made the renting experience an enjoyable one.

For the last three years I rented a flat in east London and Ellis & Co in Bethnal Green were the letting agents. All the staff in the office, particularly Kier Hawkins (who dealt with my tenancy), were always extremely helpful, friendly and efficient when dealing with any issues. Emails and phone calls were responded to immediately and if ever there was something wrong - broken boiler, temperamental radiators - the problem was dealt with straight away.
I would absolutely recommend them to anyone as a great letting agency to deal with - certainly the best I have come across!

I looked at a property on the Rightmove website and got in contact with Jatender from Ellis & Co straight away. Jatender was very professional with me and offered a great deal of flexibility by arranging to see the property on the same day.
I fell in love with the property as soon as I walked in and gave an offer straight away. Jatender was in constant contact with me and gave regular updates regarding the purchase as there was another potential buyer in the picture.
Unfortunately I was informed on the tragic loss of Peter during the purchasing process. Jatender was still able to offer a very good customer service and inform me on regular updates.
We eventually completed the purchase and I don't have a bad word to say about Jatender and Ellis & Co. They were friendly, professional and competent. Many other estate agents are aggressive and put unnecessary pressure on you, whereas Jatender was the complete opposite and I am very happy with the customer service provided.
Thank you very much for helping me purchase my dream home!

Despite the unfortunate and tragic loss suffered by the office with the death of Peter at the beginning of our sale process, I was impressed by the professional approach by Jatender and the staff at the office who were always helpful and prompt in responding to any queries we had. The advice given was sound and the marketing of our house was conducted with clear direction and the knowledge of the market place and local demand was clear to see. Within less than 1 week of having our house on the market, and a number of viewings organised, we received an offer close to our market price. Although the chain was not straight forward, we received regular updates and Jatender dealt with any questions or enquiries expertly and promptly which meant that we were able to exchange and complete on our sale is little over 6 weeks from when the sale process began which I feel was an achievement in itself bearing in mind the chain of buyers and sellers involved.

After a rather unpleasant incident with a different estate agent, Kier was unbelievably accommodative, fast and effective to help me and my flatmate to find a flat practically in no time. The paperwork got dealt with swiftly and in two days time we were already in our new home.
Would definitely recommend Ellis & Co thanks to their professional, efficient and helpful manner and rather pleasant staff.

The lettings manager was an excellent in all areas. Mr Kalmus is especially well accustomed to this area of London and has a acquired a number of key personnel and third party contractors to provide an efficient and very reasonable service in regards to maintenance of the property,providing full peace of mind. All correspondence we've had with Ellis & Co both prior to our tenancy start helping us find somewhere and towards the end when leaving the property has been very positive. All staff at the branch have always had a very professional approach when dealing with us. All consistently approachable and friendly. Also, in terms of handing over property at end of the tenancy, staff were very careful to ensure viewings, etc were at times convenient to us and were flexible time-wise in terms of the hand-over of keys, etc. I can't fault them.

Ellis were fantastic right from the first viewing. There were no hidden or extra fees (even on renewal). Ashley has been with us throughout the tenancy (coming up for three years) and has always been very supportive, responding promptly with issues including replacement appliances and one burst pipe. Maintenance has been excellent - 5 additional stars for Darren the handyman, who is just brilliant!. We're very happy with their service, it's taken a lot of the stress out of renting in London.

The washing machine wasn't brand new when I moved in a couple of years ago, but once it stopped working all I had to do was call Kier, at Ellis & Co. and that same week Darren - the handy-man - replaced the washing machine with a brand new one. As with all other issues I had with the property (luckily, the only other issue I can remember was to do with the boiler), this was addressed promptly and without a hitch.

Deepak does not normally deal with Lettings but in his intervention when things were getting a bit hairy was reassuring. He resolved all issues n am happy that my property in Wembley is well looked after. What I would say is that like most estate agencies the offices are full of young keen excited people, but there's no replacement for a more mature person.

Ellis and Co have fully managed my property for a number of years. From the outset they asked how much involvement I wanted, and informed me and updated me about the property when needed. Even though the property is not in the area that they normally deal in, they found me a suitable tenant before an agent local to the property. I have used the Enfield Town office since 2002 to manage the letting of my propery. I have always found them to be very helpful, friendly and professional. I have rented out my two properties with Ellis & Co since August 2007, and have received the most professional service one could imagine. Tom Parry (from a landlord/landlady point of view), has been so efficient dealing with my tenants, and any services required by them or anything in the house - and the reporting system that he has in place after his three monthly inspections is invaluable to me. There is such an upbeat atmosphere in the office, and all they want to do is provide their clients on both sides with the best service possible which is what they have achieved with flying colours. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any future landlord/landlady, as I know they would be given the best service possible in looking after your future investment.

Ellis and Co were very helpful and professional in finding me a new tenant for my property. They acted immediately on receiving my instructions to advertise the property. Within 2 days they had several propspective tenants viewing the flat. They then dealt with all the practical side of letting the property very proficiently. We arrived in London in September 2011 and dealt with agencies since then to try to get a flat. Everyone turned us down or treated us very badly because we didn't correspond to the typical, UK-based prospective tenants, and we didn't have many references or UK-based guarantors. At Ellis and Co Bethnal Green, we finally felt that they were sympathetic with our situation and no efforts were spared in trying to accommodate our needs. Ashley Thompson was relentless, going as far as to take time from his day off to help us. We couldn't be happier or more grateful to Ashley and all the staff. We'll definitely recommend them to anyone looking to rent a property in London!

I had a choice of Estate Agents I could of used to sell two properties for me, both were in need of work and both had tenants, it was however Damien who gave me the confidence that he could do the job. Ellis and Co at Epsom Downs is first class. From day one when Robin Johnson came along to value our house both he and his team were helpful and supportive in what is a difficult time for anyone. Robin told us that he would sell the property within 3 months, something we doubted due to its unfavourable location, but true to his word in just over a month the property was sold (and for the full asking price). Robin was open and honest throughout and he and his team worked tirelessly to make sure everything was done properly. His team were always on the end of a phone to help and if they said they would do something, it was done without delay. They made you feel like you were important and made selling a house easy and in this day and age that is something to be valued. I would highly recommend Ellis and Co, Epsom Downs to anyone wanting to sell their house.

I was a buyer keen to buy a property and had everything in place along with a 25% deposit and an agreed mortgage. I wanted to move my initial viewing and asked it to be at 12 instead of 5. I was at work and very keen for this to happen which was conveyed as being "pushy".
I made a good offer which was rejected and then a higher offer which was also rejected. It was only 5k below the asking so I asked what the problem was and if they wanted to sell their house. Used them once - my experience was as follows:
1. Arranged a viewing of a place by phone call from when I was living in the North West
2. Told him I am travelling to London on the Wednesday for viewings
3. When I arrived, the price per week was "suddenly" £10 higher due to a "clerical error" on the website

I found Ellis & co, Willesden Green office, to be absolutely superb. I previously tried to sell my house with Foxtons, who failed utterly to get any offers despite their optimistic pricing and boasts. When they pressurised me to reduce the price I contacted Peter Stinson at Ellis & Co, who gave me practical and pragmatic advice, and sold the house for more than Foxtons wanted to reduce the to, in less than two weeks, over Christmas! My Partner and I have just agreed a sale on our property through the Willesden Green office. When we decided that we wanted to move, we invited three agents round to value our flat, one of those being Ellis & Co. I found them to be very professional, honest and down to earth. They sat us down, and asked us what we wanted. What our expectations of an agent were, then they started to explain the service the provided. This really impressed me as I had never really thought about it from that angle before. I had always thought about the best valuation and the cheapest fee.
During the valuation, we were told that we should expect offers within the first 4-6 weeks of being on the market. We were on the market for 18 days when we accepted the offer that we were happy with. I'm very impressed! It's still early days yet, but fingers crossed the sale goes through as smoothly as possible. I'll keep you all posted!

I have visted a fair number of Vendors so I could accertain the best to suit my needs as a first time landlord.
The office was very professional and I was offered a coffee or tea whist waiting.
When I met Deepak Mehta he expained fully the services offered and the current rental market as he saw it.There was no pressure and I felt he had a good understanding compared to the three other agents I had seen.

We moved in this property in July .
We were told that all the pending work including carpet and cleaning , toilet seat fix , bathroom extractor , cleaning of the poisonous weed would be done before we move.
but nothing is done till date.Whenever we call them they tell some story or the other.For any problem we face they torture us like anything. Everytime we call them they ask us to explain the entire problem without litening completely even once.
After days of followup sometime they address the problem partly sometime they just sit on us.
We are new in this country and do not know whom to approach anf feeling like cheated.
The staff is working in totally isolated mode. Everytime you call you have to start the stuff from scratch.

We felt very confident in him and the office, so instructed them right away.
Through out the whole process, we were given feedback after every viewing. And Damien was always trying to come up with new ideas and different ways of trying make our property stand out. Eventually we agreed a sale which Damien negotiated on extremely well, achieving £25,000 more than the initial offer.
I would HIGHLY recommend this office as I know too well, they always provide a top service! Well done guys.

Overall very professional service. Transaction took much longer than expected due to having a 2nd remortgage going on the same time and conveyancer reacting slowly. They agency were doing most of the chasing up to try to speed up exchange and report back progress. Most of the dealing was with Mrs Siladi. When I attempted to negotiate some small conditions the requests were relayed, as expected.
On the negative side, I dealt with another person from sales, who pushed a bit too far for me to relax some of the conditions I asked for, and it was unpleasant conversation -- but again, this was one off, and as a whole the dealing was pleasant, and would deal with them again.

In September 2011 my family switched to Ellis & Co. Harrow to let and manage the referenced property. (We previously used another agent in Harrow for some years and were totally dissatisfied with the service we were receiving). The switch co-incided with a change of tenant and the need to carry out a significant re-furbishment of the property.
Ellis & Co. were able to very efficiently organise the re-furbishment using their own sub-contractor at an economic price and then let the flat to what appear so far to be good tenants.

Ellis and co are an unusually open, honest and straight-dealing agent. Ours was a tricky sale - it took more than six months and several buyers pulled out - but they never lost focus, were always working hard on our behalf and remained determined throughout to get us the best possible price. We have been searching for a property to rent for months and have dealt with agents from many different companies. There have been situations where agents never returned our call, or booked us for a viewing but didn't turn up (!), or kept pushing properties to us that were beyond our budget.
We finally managed to acquire one with the help of Tommy from the Stanmore branch of Ellis.This being the first time we have rented a property in the UK, he has been very helpful and patient with our million-and-one questions, he did not rush us about with the viewings, he was very prompt with replying our emails, and we could reach him even in the evenings and over the weekend. We are more than satisfied with the level of professionalism and efficiency that Tommy has provided.

Following a personal recommendation, I gave my flat to Ellis & Co, the Willesden Green office, quite a few years ago now and their service has been superb. The place has been empty only a few days in the whole time they have had it and it has been really well looked after by a succession of excellent professional tenants. We had a very good experience with Ellis and Co. The process of our offer and acceptance was quick and it was always pleasant dealing with Natalie. We arranged several viewings with builders and family members and the agents were always accommodating. I recently rented my flat through Ellis & Co. Harrow. It was my first time using them and I have to say that I was extremely happy with their professional service. I have used the Willesden Green office for over 10 years to manage my portfolio of rented properties and I can honestly say I couldn't exist without them. I have enjoyed having a massive amount of stress taken away by their profficient and professional management team. I seriously worry about nothing as my interests are always first and foremost, top rents achieved, void periods are kept to a minimum and maintenance issues dealt with quickly to ensure happy tenants and well looked after properties. One of the best decisions I have ever made. I wouldn't dream of using any other agent in the area and cannot recommend them more highly to other Landlords who may not be getting the level of service they expect or are paying for.

i wish i had good things to say about the service i received, unfortunately i dont. My statements are always hit and miss, i need to monitor my bank statements all the time to make sure all is ok and i get paid.
Had few issues with previous tennant but agency did not do much to help me out ( in the end the tennant got away with some money from the deposit that was supposed to protect me)Overall dont feel the agency is on my side and does not feel help and support ( being the one that pay them a fee to look after my property and my interests)

Our experience with Ellis Mill Hill was an excellent one.
The deal was as complicated as you can get and dragged for months.
Still the agent (Jatender) knew how to deal with it in the most professional manner, kept the sellers and the buyers (us) calm, constantly kept checking on progress and updated us with any news, had detailed answer to any questions raised and even came with some creative ideas when the deal got nearly stuck and we all nearly gave up...
In short he did what you expect from an estate agent to do and hardly ever find these days... PERFECT SERVICE.Absolutely 100% reccomended.

Khalid was the perfect agent. He did exactly what he said he would do efficiently and professionally. We interviewed a dozen agents before settling with Khalid, he knew exactly what e was talking about and his rates were very competitive. I have used the Ellis and Co on West Green Road three times. Each time they have got me very good, suitable tenants for my property. They were always very courteous, helpful and reliable.
Ellis's fee of three weeks' rent for finding and vetting tenants I consider reasonable, in contrast to other agencies that charge an ongoing fee, irrespective of the length of the letting period.
I would rate them as excellent except for a misunderstanding regarding the taking of an inventory with my latest tenants. I would like to rate them "very good" rather than just "good".

The Mill Hill office were very attentive. All calls were answered swiftly and any outstanding question was dealt with as soon as possible. Everyone in the office was polite and luckily our deal went through fairly smoothly. I may add that we worked just as hard to make sure that no time was wasted and equally chased our solicitors..
As with any agent I think, there was no formal closure. I feel that we were perfect buyers at the end of a chain but were not acknowledged for that. We provided 2 sales for this company. Personally I think that a bottle of champagne and a card from them to wish US luck in our new home would be more in keeping than for them to have to ask us to write a review whilst we are still unpacking. After all, they know where we live and this could have waited for a few weeks whilst we settle in.

I wish the Agent would pay more attention to keeping items well maintained plus the way the Tenants uses the Fridge, Washing Machine, furnitures etc and ensure that New Items bought for the Property on behalf of the Landlord are not condemned immediately they are off the Warranty period (12 months) in favour of buying new ones for the Property. That will reduce the expenses of keeping the Tenant and make the Investment Property more worthwhile.

My flatmate & I had been looking for a flat for quite a few weeks and had had some fairly average experiences with agents. Often flats advertised had long since been let and were still left up to attract people or descriptions were significantly different to the flats in reality. Other agents were late for appointments, cancelled last minute or knew nothing about the property.
We found a flat advertised through Ellis & Co which looked perfect. For once the particulars matched the flat and Kier the agent was professional, knowledgeable and quick moving. We used Peter and Tania to both sell and buy our property. In terms of our sale, they found us a great buyer really quickly and we felt up to date through the whole process as to where we were up too. Our purchase also through them was equally as smooth and considering it was a chain of 4 people makes it all the more impressive. We called all of the local agents in to value our property with a view to selling.
When Peter at Ellis & Co came round, we were very impressed with his knowledge of the Road and our property; he had clearly sold many of the other houses in our road.
Viewings were steady and within two weeks of the property going on the market, Peter negotiated us an acceptable offer.
Once we had accepted our offer, we informed all of the agents and were expecting them all to get us into their hottest properties as we were keen to buy. Again Peter was the only agent that really assisted and it paid off as we are now not only selling through his agency but also buying.
I suppose the best way of summing this review up is that Peter is not the typical stereotype estate agent and would have no reservations in recommending them.

For all my properties in Tottenham I only use Ellis and Co/ West Green Road.
The service is excellent. Low turnover of staff so I always meet the same people and this makes the Landlord and Agent relationship very personal. I know they take great care whom they place in my properties and if they feel the tenant is not right we do not procced thereby avoiding bad situations. I am also left with the feeling that they value the Landlord and Agent relationship over an above the commission and this give me the confidence to go back time and time again.
No hesitation in receommending them to any other Landlords in the area.

Peter at Ellis & Co, Mill Hill, succeeded in selling my home, where ALL other Mill Hill Broadway Estate Agents ultimately failed.

I initially came into contact with Jatender at Ellis & Co in 1998 and was impressed with the professionalism shown when I purchased my flat. Therefore, I contacted Ellis & Co again when I wished to sell the property which proved to be the right decision.
On this occasion, Peter dealt with the sale of my flat. It took a little longer than expected (due to reasons beyond our control!) but everything possible was done to facilitate the process with great negotiating skills and sound advice delivered with good humour and patience along the way.

I was asked by my father in law to help him sell his property, we wanted an agent that was competitive on fees, but also sympathetic to the fact that we wanted vetted/qualified clients given we only wanted individuals in a certain position to view. We wanted as little disruption as possible.

We have been using Ellis and Co for renting our flat out for several years. Everything they have done has always been timely and very professional. They have managed change over of tenants for us almost seamlessly so the property has always been occupied and have proposed rent increases in line with the market so we have had continuous income from our flat. As part of the service they have supported our tenants when they have needed local tradesmen to carry out minor works on the flat and this has helped maintain the property in excellent condition. Rent is collected and paid to us on time and deposits are seamlessly managed as well as regular checks of the property condition. I can whole heartedly recommend Ellis & Co and Kam Kalra in particular as people I would want to use again.

We've just recently completed a purchase through Ellis, and it is confirmation at least that miracles do happen. At several points during the transaction we were convinced that Ellis were doing everything in their power to cause the purchase to fail, and were almost resigned to the fact that we'd lose the property we knew was so perfect for our family. There were several beneficiaries, most of us living outside the UK, and Sales Manager Damien Ellison and his colleague Peter were fantastic in every way, from finding a buyer, keeping us informed of the process, and being tremendously helpful. My partner and I have been tenants of a property managed by the Willesden branch of Ellis for almost 18 months and we have found their service to be excellent. Ellis are very speedy in providing repairs and answering questions and were more than happy to replace the lounge carpet when we renewed our lease. We waited a long time for a major window repair last winter, but that was the only time we have ever had to ask them twice for anything. Overall they are excellent managers who respond quickly to queries and go out of their way to help us. Ellis & Co has managed my property for the past 5 years while I have been resident overseas. Most importantly, I TRUST Margaret to do the right thing by me and by my tenants. On the whole I am quite satisfied with the agents especially with the accounting department-.
Occasionally I have been informed rather ,late. of any major repairs etc demanded by the tenants which I assume would need my approval.. Also in the bids for any major work to be done. I think it

Ellis & Co. Walm Lane have been managing my flat in Willesden Green for the last 20 years. Am completely happy with their service which is very personal, responsive, helpful, etc. etc. Hence staying with them. It means I can be away/live anywhere and know that any issues that do arise will be handled by them and their quick and reasonably priced suppliers - I need to do almost nothing except agree to the odd thing being done (repairs etc.). That's what you want from a lettings agent.

I was recommended Ellis & Co (Willesden branch) by my mum's plumber who had a couple of properties with them and he said they were very good, so when I let my flat after getting married I contacted the Willesden Green branch and the manager came to view the property, even though it was slightly out of the area that they covered. I signed up with them straight away and suffice to say I have been with them coming up to six-and-a-half years and they are brilliant. The tenants are happy and well looked after by the agents, I have had no problems or issues at all, any repair/maintenance work is undertaken swiftly and professionally by the agents. Margaret Nolan has been fantastic and very helpful to deal with. I am at ease knowing that my property is in good hands, all the stress & worry of looking after tenants and a rental property has been taken from me. I would highly recommend Ellis & Co (Willesden) and very much hope to continue working with them in the years to come.

We moved from Nottingham to London 5 months back. We spoke to so many different estate agents and saw few properties. But the service we got from Ellis & Co (esp. Kam Karla) was extra-ordinary. He went out of his way to find a property for us as we did not have a place to stay in London and we were staying in a hotel. I have been in the Lettings market for over 15 years, and I can honestly say that in all that time the Lettings Team at the Harrow branch of Ellis and Co, (especially the Lettings Director, Kam Kalra), have been the best Agents I have had the pleasure to be acquainted with. I’ve been renting via Ellis and Co. Harrow for the past 5 years and have found them to be very helpful, After experiencing grief and pain from other estate agencies in the area who advertise and claim to the best, I met Ellis and Co who don't really flaunt their name in wasteful advertisements but modestly outperform even the best estate agents in the market.
Each and every individual I have met in the Harrow Office has always been helpful and supportive in every way.
These are the qualities that want me to come back to them every time I want to rent a property. I have absolutely no problems in recommending them to my friends and family for any property related matters.

I sold my flat in Victoria Park through Ellis & Co, Bethnal Green, and the service I received was utterly superb. I cannot praise these people too highly. Myself and my boyfriend have just rented through Ellis and Co Bethnal Green Branch. We were dealt with by Ashley, who from the word go has been excellent. When I submitted an enquiry through their website, Ashley phoned me quickly, and seemed far more genuine than other agents I had dealt with.

We dealt with Birjoo Shah at Ellis and Co in Finchley Central when looking for a bedroom flat to rent. We had seen many estate agents before Ellis and most of them did no have any bed houses to rent. When we went to Ellis they had and Birjoo knew straight away where to find them in his rental file and seemed to know the properties in great detail.
Birjoo was very polite, professional and had excellent communication skills. He arranged for us to see the property a few times and continuously kept us up to speed with the rental process and where we were with getting our offer accepted.
The process was quick, straightforward and there were no real surprises when we moved in.
All in all, it went well for us and I would recommend Birjoo / Ellis to friends looking for a place to rent.

I moved in 3 months ago to my rented property and have been chasing the same issues for the past 3 months. I have broken furniture that was used by the painter and decorator which I have asked to be removed for health and safety reasons, I have been bruised by this furniture on several occasions. I have emails responses from the estate agents saying they will make arrangements for the furniture to be removed but its still there. Ellis have been trying to sell my property for quite some time now. We did have a buyer on 3 different occasions. However, each of them ran into financial problems of one kind or another.

I have used Ellis & Co now for over three years who have been professional and thorough when it comes to any of my queries and deal with problems be it tenants or flat issues immediately. I have never had my property empty for more than a couple of weeks as Ellis and Co find new tenants quickly which are suitable for the property. I would highly recommend them and will be using thier services for the foreseeable future.

I found all the employees at Ellis Finchley Central to be perfect agents, helpful, polite, nothing was too much trouble, if one was not in the others appeared to know all about my sale, and I did not have to repeat the details. It was a difficult sale and at all times Jamie and his team were at the end of a telephone to answer any queries. I had no stress from using Ellis & Co. Finchley Central

These people are the most rude, incompetent group that I have ever come across. **** ***** is, without a doubt, the most rude and obnoxious person that I have ever dealt with on a professional basis. They do not show up to appointments, they do not fix problems as they come up, and when challenged they will behave like petulant brats. Completely unprofessional. There are plenty of estate agents in London, so there is no reason to ever use the Bethnal Green branch of Ellis & Co.

I have had nothing but trouble with Ellis and Co since they were appointed to manage our property. They do not carry out inspections as requested, they do not provide any information despite numerous times of asking. Rent paymensts are often late, or worse, dont even turn up. Then when queried with the agents its always someone elses fault. Repairs are not taken seriously, not reported in a prompt manner and not repaired in a reasonable time frame with some emergency/urgent repairs taking over a month to be completed.
When I contacted the branch manager to complain and aks for the complaints procedure, I was told that I couldnt!!!!
All in all I would not recommend Ellis and Co to anyone.

I called up to arrange viewing of a property at its site. I can not understand why the person on phone asked me to come to their office first and told he will take me to the property. The agent had no telephone manners and was souding rude and ruthless. When I asked my husband to visit the check out the property, they started talking with him in a funny and strange way. He felt unprofessional about it, but decided to go ahead for viewing. Later at the prperty site my husband was insulted with very disrespecting and unsocial language. The agent didn't brought him back to his office and my husband was stranded to come back home. We as a couple are disappointed to be contacted by Ellis & Co staff, and we promise we will never see Ellis & Co again.

If there was a negative feedback provision, I would have given it -100. Meet the guy named ****** at Wembley Park branch. This person is a real living example of worst customer communicator with height of impoliteness and attitude.
I wanted to view a property, for that they called me at their Wembly Park branch office, saying they will take me to the property from their office. So I drove and parked my car near their office. Where to begin? The boss is presumably so busy sorting out his agents' mess that he is too busy to deal with clients himself. I have found the staff to be inarticulate, unprofessional, and unhelpful. One boy (I baulk at using the word man) has a habit of answering the phone with his mouth full of food. Trying to get the deposit back, so we send mails to ask what to do. We contacted them to tell them to check the mail at the flat for final bills, landlord didnt get back either so they were the only one able to do it.
Then got angry mails from one of their agents, very very very rude, I'm still very shocked. He was asking not to contact them if it wasn't to give the last bills. Who is he to say such things? I paid fees and I'm in the right to contact them anytime I want.
Then he totally told me to sort it out with the landlord, even when I told him the landlord didn't get back to us at all.
I don't think we will ever see our deposit again. Strongly advise you to never deal with them, once you have paid fees the only thing they will do to help you its to attack you.

Ashley Thompson handled the sale, gave a realistic evaluation and good advice re decoration and removal of clutter. I followed his advice and he revised his valuation, selling the flat within a week. Ashley was open, straightforward and gave good advice. Highly recommended.

Very rude, arrogant, ignorant if you tell about any problems. I will come back with more details very soon, luckily moving out soon. Their front door glass have been broken by unhappy customers recently, I thought only me who is suffering from them, thought only in my branch. For 10 years I owned a flat in Bethnal Green which I let out to tenants. After a bad experience with another letting agent, I transferred it to Ellis & Co a few years ago. The service was exceptional and Andy James was always reliable - advising on rent levels, finding good tenants, ensuring rent was paid on time, tackling problems like faulty boilers, leaking windows etc. as they arose. When I realised in Feb 2010 that I needed to sell the property, I had no hesitation in putting it on the market with Ellis & Co, and within six week they found two buyers, so it went to a sealed bid auction and I achieved the full asking price. Well done.

I have been using Andy and Kier and their team for more than two years. They let 14 flats for me. They are barely any voids at all, the rent levels are good and their tenant have always performed as expected with a large number of them renewing their 1 year ASTs. They provide a better service than larger branded competitors and at a better rate of commission. They are willing to work with you to acheive your aims and are always courteous. I manage over 50 flats around London and the Ellis & Co Bethanl Green team is the best one I have found in that area.

They allowed the tenant to not pay for 3 months of a 12 month tenancy. When we informed them, the first time we realised, they were grossly patronising to us. When we showed them our bank statements, still no answer. Only through hassling the tenant consistently did they pay up (i.e. the estate agent had little to do with it).
You have few rights as a landlord when this happens without resorting to expensive court battles. So avoid these people, they do not have the responsibility to be agents.

Aweful service. Easily the most unprofessional letting agent I've ever encountered in the UK. You will have to call them a thousand times to get things done. Even after that the work will be thoroughly incomplete and you will need to intervene and do their job although they will arrogantly reply "we know our job"...group of stupid people running their office just opposite to wembley park tube station...beware of them...choose any other letting agent at random but not this one...

I was a buyer keen to buy a property and had everything in place along with a 25% deposit and an agreed mortgage. I wanted to move my initial viewing and asked it to be at 12 instead of 5. I was at work and very keen for this to happen which was conveyed as being "pushy".
I made a good offer which was rejected and then a higher offer which was also rejected. It was only 5k below the asking so I asked what the problem was and if they wanted to sell their house. When I called not only did Damien inform me he was "on his lunch"(!!!!) but he didn't call back for an hour and a half and then sent me an email informing me they didn't want to sell me their house or go forward with any further negotiations. Why? At this point the only information they had was through Damien (who had never met me!!). I had never even met Damien and for him to convey incorrect information to the vendor and to do himself out of a sale like this is utterly unforgivable. I am a very personable and trustworthy individual in an extremely strong buying position. I lost my perfect home and am completely gutted.

1. Arranged a viewing of a place by phone call from when I was living in the North West
2. Told him I am travelling to London on the Wednesday for viewings
3. When I arrived, the price per week was "suddenly" £10 higher due to a "clerical error" on the website
4. This was a clearly and attempt at ripping me off.
5. The estate agent was the landlord as it was his own flat
6. I went and viewed the flat with his assistant but did not return to the shop on the way back. His assistant looked surprised.
7. I am a professional man, well educated, and the landlord/agent no doubt could tell this from meeting me
8. I say this because all day I received calles that I ignored as I then viewed other places.
9. I do not like people who try to take advantage of me and rip me off and so that is why I never took the flat for the extra £10 per week.
10. He had thought that because I had travelled down from The North and needed a place for my new job the week later, that he could take advantage of my situation
11. When he realised he couldn't and regretted his actions, he kept phoning me. I finally answered the phone and only because I had not liked any of the other places I had seen
12. He offered the original price (they will absorb the error he said) and so I subsequently decided to take the place.
13. When I got the keys and moved in, the whole place "was a tip" as the previous guy had left and gone back to India and so had not cared about the state of it when moving out.
14. I had to clean it all up. So there was a charge for moving in, but not a clean place to go with it.
15. A year later, he wanted renewal of the contract
16. I asked him "did I have to sign a year more?" He told me that YES I did as ALL contracts work that way.
17. But during that year, I had learned that contracts become periodic (month to month) after 1 year so I didn't need to sign at all. He had also fogotten that he told me this himself when I first moved in. So again, he was trying to take advantage of what he thought was my lack of knowledge.
18. He had directly lied to me by his actions. I didn't like this.
19. I was annoyed, so I decided not to renew and I moved out 1 month later.
20. They did send some e-mails as an attept to portray that the place was not "clean and tidy" from when they had shown someone around.
21. I subsequently reminded them that on move in it was a tip and I had taken photographs. I also told them I am well aware they are "trying to set the stage" by e-mail for later claiming some of my deposit.
22. They subsequently stopped sending e-mails.
23. I had a overlap of about 2 weeks with my next place so technically lost about £400 in the move. To get my deposit back early, I had agreed to surrender keys early.
**The only good point was that my deposit was protected in the deposit protect scheme, so he was honest about that at the start**
So 2 stars rather than 1 star.
But he did lie a lot and I can't stand liars!

These unproductive Estate Agents were weeded out as quickly as possible. But having chosen inefficient Estate Agents wasted valuable time and possibly meant my missing opportunities. Other local Mill Hill Estate Agents showed mesmerising inflexibility, (unbelievable under the current economic climate), to even 'want' to gain a new instruction, by either not caring to be more reasonable on Terms, (i.e. length of initial contract period etc) or not being willing to be flexible/reasonable with their sales fees.
Peter and Ellis & Co, Mill Hill, proved to be different.
From personal experience, over a length of time, I can state that Peter at Ellis and Co, Mill Hill, (and all staff), consistently stood head and shoulders above ALL their Estate Agency competition from start to finish.
INITIAL INSTRUCTION: Peter gave his honest marketing valuation and did not pitch this unrealistically high, (as did some others in order to try to win the instruction). In my opinion this is a critical detail which needs to be as close to the mark as possible, from outset. Instead Peter listened, discussed, qualified his reasoning and was sympathetic to my own particular requirements, (i.e. no for sale board etc). The Sales Fee and Terms which we agreed were also fair.
MARKETING: Ellis & Co, Mill Hill, compiled a high quality Property Description, which Peter ensured would include a Property Layout of the rooms. He also took the clearest and best photographs, amongst all of the competition. Paying attention to detail in clearing distractions from the photos, where appropriate. Peter also made sure that the required Home Information Pack was in place and available.
Although all agents these days use the internet to market properties and also mail their bank of prospective purchasers, I was very glad to see that Ellis & Co didn't solely rely on just these basic approaches, (as many others do). Peter made regular effort to try to generate extra interest and get extra viewings for my house, by being much more pro-active than the competition and also innovating the marketing strategy. Ultimately it was this effort and work ethic by Peter that generated 'the crucial viewing' which ultimately led to my house being sold. The buyer did not come via any internet marketing or direct mailing. This critical work ethic cannot be underestimated when trying to generate viewings in these difficult times.
COMMUNICATION: From outset I was not left to wonder what was happening during quiet spells but contacted and our discussions were helpful and professional. Viewings would be agreed and confirmed. Feedback following viewings was prompt and the info given was useful. Peter was easy to contact and calls were always returned. Most importantly, during the sales process Peter kept the whole thing together by regularly liasing between the buyer and myself, dealing with surveyors and by no means least, having to keep both my own solicitor and the buyer's on track, (no mean feat as ‘some’ solicitors are sensitive creatures and laws unto themselves who can become the very spanners in the works). Again, Peter’s efforts in keeping it all together cannot be underestimated here.
CONCLUSION: Put simply, the proof is in the pudding. Peter sold my house and managed to achieve a sale very close to the actual asking price.
Peter also sold a rental property for me, under difficult circumstances, (review posted separately). He found me 2 buyers, (1st sale fell through due to the tenant not leaving).
Two properties and three buyers! Although this did not all happen overnight, as it may have done some years ago when the economic climate was better, ultimately he achieved what all other Mill Hill Broadway Estate Agents failed to achieve.
Sure, there were worryingly quiet periods from time to time and I also gambled in declining offers which Peter had managed to get for me. However, ultimately it was Peter’s professionalism, proactive work ethic, diplomatic communication skills and sheer effort which meant that he sold my properties in these difficult economic times.
I cannot praise Peter highly enough. Also, all staff at Ellis & Co, Mill Hill.
From start to finish, ALL other Mill Hill Broadway Estate Agents gradually fell by the wayside and many have yet to adapt to current times.  offers fall through, so we were a bit nervous there might be a problem with the house structure. However, after an inspection we made an offer (a torturous process in itself as Ellis are one of these agencies who don't seem to understand that "guide prices" are a ridiculous concept. If you're selling something, you just need one price not two!!) and after several increments it was accepted. Kelly stipulated that we MUST instruct our solicitor the following day, which we did. Two days later we phoned the office to check on progress, and to check on whether the house had been taken off the market. It was still on the market, and Kelly claimed that she had not heard from our solicitor. Strange. We called the solicitor who confirmed he'd contacted Ellis, but Kelly had not returned his call of a couple of days ago. Another call to Ellis, and by luck we spoke to another person in the office. We explained the situation, and the colleague kindly checked the "message book", which revealed that the solicitor's message had been taken - and it had even been initialed by Kelly herself, proving she did know we'd instructed as we advised. So why ignore it?
The next problem was Ellis's (Kelly's) absolute refusal to take the property off the market. We'd got over the hitch whereby she'd ignored our solicitor's call, but now - apparently - it's Ellis's practice not to take a property off the market until the valuation survey has completed. Hmmmm - anyone else notice the goalposts moving?? We were convinced Kelly was trying to keep the property on the market as long as possible, and felt nervous we would be gazumped.
Niggly problems continued throughout the purchase process, and we're sure most of these were petty obstacles placed in our path for no good reason. Workmen were allowed access to the property to provide quotes but we weren't allowed to accompany them. Paperwork and communications were inconsistent and unhelpful.
You can't chose which agent has the property of your dreams on their books, but you sure can chose who to sell through. I timed one viewing with them; it lasted precisely 2 minutes and 44 seconds. My property is considerably larger than a studio, so one would think a viewing would take at least 5 minutes. No chance! I will try to update this review with further details once I have managed to disinstruct them and saved myself from more wasted time chasing them up for basic things. God forbid that someone makes an offer through them; I'm betting it'll take at least 6 months to progress the sale as they are slower than a koala and their service will never be worth the 1.6% fee you'll be paying them. If you must use an agent in the area, try anyone (including the dodgy ones on the high street) before you try Ellis & Co of Leyton.

They allowed the tenant to not pay for 3 months of a 12 month tenancy. When we informed them, the first time we realised, they were grossly patronising to us. When we showed them our bank statements, still no answer. Only through hassling the tenant consistently did they pay up (i.e. the estate agent had little to do with it).
