   Whether you are a buyer or a seller I recommend you think twice before deciding to work with Douglas Allen.

   We're a buyer with no chain and made the first offer on a property with Douglas Allen Epping which was rejected. Which was fine as it was a first offer. We told the agent we were very keen and to keep us informed of other offers, developments on the property. Three days later we visited Douglas Allen's office as we were passing to be told the property was sold!

   What a mess..... I sent an email enquiry to this pathetic agent (Douglas Allen) for a sales valuation on my property 2 weeks prior to the date I wanted them to come around. To my disgust and disbeleif I wasn't called at any point to confirm the appointment after the initial booking and no particulars were sent through to my address. Furthermore I received a call from Douglas Allen on the day of the appointment confirming the appointment for the correct time BUT for a complete different property!!! So I called the local agent up myself to confirm the appointment and I was gobsmacked at the way the lady spoke to me telling me that there had been a misunderstanding of some sort and that they couldn't fit me in their diary for an appointment regardless of the fact that I had pre-booked this appointment. Well..........if you are wondering what happened next....... I just simply said FORGET IT and put the damn phone down.. NEVER will I use this agent again in my life, it was an absolute joke! I would NOT RECOMMEND using these pathetic, unorganised and disrespectful agents PLEASE DONT!

   I used the Chadwell Heath branch to sell my property. The manager is a complete joker. They are always telling lies and tried bullying me to sell the property to a person who was arraning mortgage and solicitors through them. They never returned the calls. I would suggest people to stay away from this agency.

   Douglas Allen of Hornchurch are one of 3 agents that I asked to value my daughters home with a view to selling it through one of them. The other 2 agents provided a valuation based on comparable properties, lists of which they brought with them, and have phoned me several times trying to persuade me by offering inducements, such as lower commission, to use their services. By contrast Dougls Allen did not bring along any comparables, saying the office computer was down, but nevertheless promised to phone me from home that evening or the next day at the latest.    I recently sold my house in Barkingside and had been on the market with a small local agent for many months without any luck, I chose them because they were cheap but I soon found out why, I had no feedback very few viewings and no offers, I was considering changing agents when I had a knock on my door from Les the sales manager for Douglas Allen, he told me that he had recently sold three other properties in my area and that he would love to sell my home, I spoke to my partner and we agreed to give them a go, true to his word he managed to increase the viewing numbers massively and I was able to review all my feedback via there online feedback system (Which is fab), within about 3 weeks theyhad me 2 offers one of which was at the level I was hoping for and we completed the sale in 8 weeks without a glitch mainly because we used DA\'s solicitors which the buyer also used meaning it was very easy. I have now moved further in to essex and although I don\'t plan to move for many years when I do next move I will most defenitly be contacting my local Douglas Allen branch.

   I'm a seller not satisfied with the service provided by Douglas Allen Basildon.

   Very unprofessional people, they never replied to any of my calls. Also a bad level of communication within the agency. When I reported or asked for something, they forgot and failed to report to Manager and/or other Members of staff, creating a chain of problems. Very poor quality customer care, stressfull experience.

   Horrible experience, never returned the phone calls, once the offer has been accepted. I couldn't even see the property as they knew the offer was accepted and therefore didn't bother to invest their time with me. I have got two properties now, and I will never used them to let or sale them. I try to prevent as much as possible people to put their foot in there.

   They're total jokers. Don't return telephone calls, don't bother to forward details that they promise you, and don't appear to have much knowledge of their own trade. Very impressed that they were able to dress themselves before I arrived at their branch. Goons.

    Have to disagree, I used the Basildon Branch and they were excellent, very pro active, always got feedback, I had tried most other agents, and they were by far the best.

   Absolutley usless. Do not believe what they say. Tell you that they will sell it quick. They bully people to coming to view so most dont turn up. They reduced the price of my property without my authorisation. Then when I sold the 1st time they didn't even bother to tell me the chain had broken so it cost me lots of
