I am not normally one to write reviews but after telling a friend what agency I was renting from they showed reviews of Davis and Gibbs on the internet and I must say I was shocked! Especially as I did not feel the agency were like this in anyway!
I realise that 99% of people are only likely to write bad reviews as pleasant experiences normally travel by word of mouth however in dealing with Davis and Gibbs I found the whole procedure very straight forward from beginning to end. I put down a holding deposit where all terms were outlined to me before asking for my money then once my offer was accepted it was made very clear to me what I need to provide in regards to applications and referencing all along the way my calls and queries were answered and anything that needed to be discussed with the landlord was and I like I was told I would received an answer as soon as they knew anything.
I am very happy I chose to let with Davis & Gibbs I would use them again and again.

I've dealt with a number of lettings agents over the years; and few are flawless.
However, Davis and Gibbs are without a doubt, the most incompetent bunch of people i've ever encountered.
Poor communication, mis-representation of facts, and bare faced lies all seem to be common place at this agency.

these estate agents are a bunch of absolute idiots!!! DO NOT use them whatsoever! we are supposed to be moving into our new place on saturday at midday and today we have received a phone call to say that the previous tenants refuse to move and is now sueing the landlord to stay in the property. they have been promising us day after day that they will evict the tenant and make sure that we can move in by saturday. and now all of a sudden they are saying that they do not know if we can move in or not. i find this absolutely disgusting! the manager of the company is useless, he is SO rude on the phone and doesn't help out in the slightest!! i told him i want some answers and he basically said in no uncertain terms 'if i had some answers dont you think i would've given them to you already??' RUDE RUDE RUDE! they have £4000 of ours and we have signed a document to say the property is ours and the least they can say is 'i dont know' DISGUSTING.... so guess we're going to be homeless on saturday and they just dont care!

Absolutely useless bunch..... avoid them at all costs. Unprofessional and they just add extra stress to the moving process...... Please avoid.

On viewing our flat (which we leased through another agent-who were great) we were lied to repeatedly. We had already seen it the previous day but we didn't say this to them as we wanted to hear the details again and weren't sure of the etiquette on this.) We weren't expecting to be given an inflated price, and incorrect date of availability. They told us their agency had let the other flats and told us made up prices for them too. A furore then ensued and I recieved an unpleasant message from the manager because I told them the truth about why we weren't leasing from them. Obviously an alien concept to these guys. A most unsavoury experience. Wouldn't go near them with a barge pole again. Unprofessional, dishonest and pushy -nightmare.

Avoid like the plague.
I rented a brand-new conversion flat, owned by the Haywoods Group from D&G. Within 4 months of moving in the flat was condemned by Lambeth Council as being unfit for habitation, and not adhering to planning or building regs - water poured through the roof and walls when it rained.
D&G suggested "you could move the bed so it doesn't get wet" and we had to take Haywoods to court.Was this review helpful? Yes

For a long time I was unsure whether they were incompetent or mendacious. I now think it is the latter. They broke promises regarding refurbishment, changed the move in date without notifying us, insist work has been done which hasn't, have been slow to communicate throughout, gave us keys that don't work and, once we had finally signed contracts, mocked us for complaining the work was unfinished.
