I have bought, sold and bought again from Central and never had a problem - if you want to sell they will get you the best price and if you are buying they have the best flats and houses available on the market ...everyone goes to Central ! They have always gone the extra mile for me, I have always found them polite, professional and would honestly recommend them.

I recently bought a property through Central and being a first time buyer I needed a lot of help! I found them to be extremely helpful and they went out of their way to support me through what can be quite a daunting process. Their honest, friendly, no nonsense approach is really refreshing so I would highly recommend them!

Professional, honest and friendly – I have nothing but good things to say. As a first time buyer I was understandably wary but Central made the whole process stress-free and most importantly - enjoyable. Thanks to the guys, I'm now living in my dream first home! Couldn't recommend enough.

I am very confused reading all the reviews below. I recently sold a property through Central and found them to be nothing but fantastic.
I was warey of selling my flat originally, but when I had one of the negociators ( I think his name was Richard) come to value my flat, he was prompt and professional. He explained all my rights to me and in no way was I pushed into using Central Estates.
With the market the way it is, I did think it would be a while to sell my own flat, but within 2 days I had viewings. I was impressed with the system they use ( ie call to checfk it is OK to come round, then text and email)
Within a month my property had had an offer on it ( might I add, the price was not inflated, unlike some other Estate Agents on Hoe St had quoted me)
The whole process was professional and quick. I would recommend Central to any discerning seller / buyer. I certainly wouldnt recommend Churchills or Douglas Allen which although in close proximity to Central are a million miles away in terms of service and manners.

Think of all of the cliches describing Estates Agents:, liars, mercenary, untrustworthy, only in it for the money, cowboys, etc, etc.......Central Estates of Walthamstow wear all these with ease and I'm sure the list could be added to by others who have left reviews here!
I recently sold my property through them and received the worse service I have ever had from anyone. The agents who were sent round to do the viewings were useless to the extent that I told them to wait in one room whilst I finished the viewings. Do not use this estate agent, they are not trust worthy.
I wish I had seen these reviews before.
We got gazumped, they made a lame excuse that the vendor sold and exchanged secretly through some other agent, ( who was not on Findaproperty/Primelocation/Rightmove )

I rent my property through Central Estate Agents. My experience concurs with the other landlord who has posted to this site. Their service is appalling. Their catalogue of errors is too numerous to include in this review. I now know how landlords get such a bad name; it is from the shoddy agents working (supposedly) on their behalf. I would not recommend any self-respecting landlord to use this agent. Is there a professional body to report them too?

I really don't make this comment lightly but please, please do NOT use Central in Walthamstow when there are so many better agents in the area. I really would give them no stars if possible.
We rented a property from them recently, only to find they had lied on the advert (no access to the garden as it stated, which they deliberately kept hidden from us till we moved in), no cleaning of the property prior to move in, no inventory, no check of the property so we had to clear out loads of furniture and fumigate the fleas!

I am sitting here near to tears. Central promised to come and value my property over an hour ago. I have not received a phone call to apologies for the delay and I no longer want one; if they cannot turn up on time for a valuation or ring me, I don't want any further dealings with them. My situation is a difficult and desperate one and I informed them of this on the phone. I'm very disappointed with their (lack of) service.

The most unprofessional, rude, arrogant people I have ever come across. I can only hope that as the housing market slows, Central's bubble will burst and they will disappear forever, and their staff will be sweeping the streets, which they might just about manage to do. They used us to try and gazump another couple, they have withheld my deposit for 2 months, with no reason whatsoever and nobody who will talk to me about it or knows what is going on, they do multiple 'viewings' on properties where they stand at the door and don't say a word or even know basic details, they swear openly, they slag off their colleagues, they are, in short, total cowboys who are only where they are because of the demand for housing in the area. Don't be sucked in, don't have anything to do with them. To the Director: I am not an estate agent (god forbid); I am a previous tenant and was a prospective buyer. You should be ashamed.

My partner and I had a bad experience trying to view a property to buy recently. They had no record of the appointment (I'd spoken to them to arrange it only a few days before), we were then kept waiting while the salesman disappeared, told us the vendor was out - although we walked round a short time later and she was just leaving her house - and said she'd been there all morning. Overall impression was that they didn't feel comfortable (I'm being generous with that reaction) dealing with two men. Yes, a gay couple in London looking to spend quite a bit of money on a new house. Shocking! Generally disinterested, unprofessional and with so many other estate agents on Hoe Street, definitely worth avoiding.

Stay well away from this estate agents. As a landlord they have not completed one single task as requested. They agreed rent was incorrect, they did not make an inventory of the flat, they said they took out rent guarantee and did not so when my tenant was unemployed they refused to cover the rent, I asked for a tenant with no pets the tenant had a cat which ruined a new carpet, they failed to issue a section 8 asking the tenant to move out after three months of not paying rent when asked, they misinformed me about returning unused management fees, they rarely answer the phone and then fail to respond to voicemail messages, they did not complete an inspection when the tenant left the property.

Be very wary of what they say to you. Had an offer accepted on a property to buy. Got the survey, got to exchange and then got gazumped. Tried to find out why, countless phone calls ignored. Was then told I would need to offer another 5k at least. Just couldn't trust anything they said. Walked away

Do not use them.
I was a prospective buyer. I would advise anyone considering buying or selling a property with them to steer well clear. On viewings they were abysmal, just stood in one room and asked me to look round myself. All of their properties had been overpriced in relation to the 10 odd other estate agents I was dealing with.
They cajoled me into seeing their mortgage advisor, who was the most malicious person I've ever come across. They pretended to run an AIP for me and took my personal details only to leave me with nothing but a mark on my credit file.
I saw something I liked with them and put in an offer. They lied about passing the offer to the vendor and she had no idea what I had offered. In the end I pulled out after realising I had been lied to constantly.Was this review helpful? Yes

Stay away from this estate agency....They are so unprofessional! They don't have a care in the world! They are refusing to give my deposit back even though I am well in my rights!! They do not respond to emails or phone calls.

I have to agree with the other reviews - stay away from them!!!! They let us a very nice property, but we found some problems later on and try to sort them out. We are forced to leave and I'm sure landlord is not aware of all the troubles we had with them. They just don't care. Practising their methods at my work, I would have already been kicked out! Unexperienced youngsters, nothing else.

Stay away from this totally unprofessional estate agent. I currently rent out my house with them and totally regret doing this. I took out the full management fee with them but they never bother to chase when the rent is late, they never return phone calls or e-mails. Most of the staff are rude and totally live up to there stereo type of estate agents. I would never recommend them.

The worst agency ever, you need to stay far away from them. We have out an offer for a house and while waiting for an answer we found out that that house has been sold 2 months before all they were doing was to keep us hanging so that we would not find another property with other agancies. They lie straight into your face - very unpolite. Never ever with them.

Never ever saw an agency as bad as this one!! They show you property (that I then found out have been sold already) you then put an offer and while u are waiting they advice you to give a look to others hoping that you will put an offer in others (of their properties) that are actually available.. they've played me and other 6 of my co-workers!!!! Very rude, never ever.

It is worth bearing in mind that most estate agents are fairly difficult to deal with, but Central Estate are by far the worst I have come across. Their lack of communication, consideration and common decency is second to none and I regret the day we ever became involved with them
I'm not sure how many people read this website or take notice of these reviews, but all I can do is implore people not to use these estate agents.

Absolutely Awful, Do not use these guys -left the property i was renting -didnt recive any news about my deposit for 9 months altough i called them at least once a week then 9 months later they fobbed me off with an excuse of not paying rent for dates after i had left the property, and a cleaning bill which i know is a lie, they are absolutely incompetent. Letting managment completely passed the buck every time i phoned or e-mailed, cant belive their poor service

I used Central Estates to rent a property in Walthamstow, first they didnt know about me letting the property when I came to collect the keys, then didnt take the rent and sent me a threatening letter and then left me without heating.

I found these guys fantastic, they were polite and extremely professional compared to some of the other jokers that I visited on Hoe Street!!
They were the only agents to stay late for viewings and really cared about finding me a new house.
I would recommend Central to anyone looking for a home in Walthamstow and can't believe this other review to be true.

Dishonest, regulally guzump buyers, they are a bunch of young so call city slickers who are only intrested in getting a quick buck. I have told people to stay away from them.

I recently sold my property through them and received the worse service I have ever had from anyone. The agents who were sent round to do the viewings were useless to the extent that I told them to wait in one room whilst I finished the viewings. They accepted two offers on my property and instructed my solicitor without my consent. Communication and action on my property only happened when I contacted them. I was told that the chasing of my buyer and their solicitor towards completion and exchange was a "complimentary" service which I shouldn't take for granted. I was exasperated by that comment as Agents do not get paid until completion therefore it is in their interests to progress the chain as quickly as possible! There are so many other examples of shoddy, unprofessional and rude service that I do not have time to go into now however by the end of it all I instructed my solicitor to pay them only 1% (rather than the 1.5% they originally asked for !), which I still believe was over generous! They probably didn't even deserve 1/4%.
This site does not allow you to give "no stars" otherwise that is what they would have got!
Steer well clear of Central Estates.
